2010 MLB Playoffs ALCS Game 1: Yankees vs. Rangers Pick
By Drew Sharper
The 2010 ALCS begins play on Friday night as the New York Yankees take on the Texas Rangers.
The Rangers come in with home-field advantage in this series as champions of the NL West while the Yankees are the Wild Card winner.
Texas got past Tampa Bay in the ALDS, winning all three of their games on the road while the Yankees swept Minnesota in three games.
Here is a look at the matchup and my pick for tonight’s game.
New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers, 8:05PM ET
The Rangers have won four of five games played in Texas against New York this season and won 7 of the last 12 games against the Yankees in Texas.
Texas starter C.J. Wilson hasn’t had a lot of success against the Yankees, but he only has one decision against them. His teams are 2-1 against the Yankees when he starts.
C.C. Sabathia is 8-3 against the Rangers in his career, but he has a 4.29 ERA.
Texas has been playing well and I expect their offense to carry the team to a win in game one. They are also considered the underdog at home, which I feel good about.
