2010 MLB Playoffs NLCS Game 1: Giants vs. Phillies Picks
By Drew Sharper
Two of the best pitchers in all of baseball meet in Game 1 of the NLCS as the San Francisco Giants take on the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Phillies send Roy Halladay to the mound while the Giants have Tim Lincecum pitching for them in this classic game.
Halladay has struggled against the Giants in his career as he is 0-2 against San Francisco with a 7.23 ERA. Lincecum is 2-1 against the Phillies with a 2.98 ERA.
The Giants have won just three times in nine games at Philadelphia over the last three seasons and were just 1-2 this season in Philadelphia.
Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s playoff game 1:
San Francisco Giants at Philadelphia Phillies, 7:55PM ET
Trends favor Philadelphia in this game as the Phillies are 14-3 in their last 17 home playoff games and 9-1 in Halladay’s last 10 starts at home.
San Francisco is just 0-4 in their last four Saturday games and 2-5 in their last seven playoff road games.
While Lincecum is a great pitcher, it will be tough for him to win at Philadelphia as Halladay should be able to silence a weak San Francisco lineup.
