2010 MLB Playoffs NLCS Game 4: Phillies vs. Giants Pick

The Philadelphia Phillies need a win on Wednesday in Game 4 of the NLCS as they hope to avoid a 3-1 deficit to the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants took a 2-1 lead in the series on Tuesday thanks to a 3-0 victory. Matt Cain threw seven scoreless innings to pick up the win while Cody Ross continued to shine, picking up a RBI single in the fourth inning that turned out to be the game-winning hit.
Tonight, the Giants send Madison Bumgarner to the mound while the Phillies counter with Joe Blanton.
Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s playoff game 4:
Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Francisco Giants, 7:55PM ET
Bumgarner makes his first start against the Phillies while Blanton is 2-3 in his career against the Giants with a 4.73 ERA.
The Giants are 8-3 in Bumgarner’s last 11 starts while the Phillies are 1-4 in their last five playoff games as an underdog.
Adding to that is that the home team is 5-0 in Wally Bell’s last five games behind home plate in games involving the Giants.
The Giants seem to have the momentum right now and have had better pitching than a stacked Phillies’ rotation. I like the Giants to keep rolling and get a big win at home on Tuesday.
