2010 MLB Playoffs NLCS Game 6: Giants vs. Phillies Pick
By Drew Sharper
The Philadelphia Phillies are back home and looking to stay alive when they host the San Francisco Giants in Game 6 of the NLCS.
The Giants lead the series 3-2 with the Phillies taking Game 5 to force the series back to Philadelphia.
Philadelphia will send Roy Oswalt to the mound in Game 6 while the Giants counter with Jonathan Sanchez.
Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s playoff game 6:
San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies, 7:57PM ET
Sanchez is 3-2 against the Phillies in his career with a 2.57 ERA while the team is 4-2 against the Phillies when he starts.
Oswalt is 7-8 in his career against the Giants with a 3.44 ERA while his team’s are 8-10 against San Francisco when he starts on the mound.
The Phillies are 12-1 in Oswalt’s last 13 starts and 8-0 when he starts at home while the Giants are 1-4 in their last five Saturday games and 2-6 in Sanchez’ last eight Saturday starts.
The Phillies have the momentum on their side as they return home and Oswalt will be motivated to overcome his 1-inning loss in Game 4. I like Philadelphia to force a Game 7 and win on Saturday.
