2014 World Series Odds To Win: Los Angeles Dodgers Favored
By Drew Sharper

(TheSpread) – The 2013 World Series concluded on Wednesday night, so now it is time to look ahead to who will be the 2014 champion.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorite to win it all, as they have 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are the Detroit Tigers (8/1) the Washington Nationals (8/1) and the St. Louis Cardinals (10/1).

The Dodgers reached the NLCS before falling to the Cardinals this past season. Los Angeles still has a very strong core of offense with some great young pitching. The team will retain Don Mattingly as coach and should be primed for a good run.

The Tigers lost in the Red Sox in the ALCS. Detroit should have another great pitching staff and return plenty of strong hitters. The question for Detroit is who the new manager will be entering the season.

The Nationals had a disappointing 2013, but still should be strong next season and live up to the expectations behind young talent like Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg.

The Cardinals came up short in the World Series to Boston, but St. Louis has proven to be a top contender in the National League each year. The Cardinals showed a lot of strong pitching in the postseason that will still be around in 2014.
