Boston’s woes continue as they are 6-23 playing against a better team (Win percentage of 54% to 62%) in the second half of the year since last season. Texas on the other hand has a unusual mark of 9-0 after a game where the bullpen threw six or more innings in 2010. Unless Jon Lester (12-7, 2.94) can pitch into the ninth inning with a substantial lead, backing the BoSox has to be troublesome.

Tonight’s Brewers and Rockies matchup is more reminiscent of the old days at Coors Field. Oddsmakers began Game 2 of the series at 10 for a total and almost immediately it went 10.5. Milwaukee’s combination of mediocre starting pitching and detestable bullpen has them 16-4 OVER in road outings when playing against a team with a winning record in the second half of the season. Colorado can be downright abusive to atrocious pitching and are 20-7 OVER vs. a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
