3DW Sports Betting Line Moves – Crucial Betting Info
By Doug Upstone
A full schedule of MLB action has sports bettors attacking the numbers vociferously. The one lone NFL matchup also caught the eye of those attempting to build wagering accounts, but mostly just one aspect. Take a load off your feet and see what others are thinking on Friday night.
MLB- Texas at Baltimore 7:05 EDT MASN2
The Rangers failed miserably in their quest to end losing streak and were shutout by Baltimore 4-0, which was just the second time all year Texas has failed to score. (The O’s third shutout) Baseball bettors are undeterred about Game 2 in the series, riding the Rangers hard. The opening number was Texas -186 on the money line and that number has been climbing faster than the temperature in the Dallas Metroplex, last seen at -200 and climbing. Pitcher C. J. Wilson’s (11-5, 3.19 ERA) recent exploits have him going 4-0 with a 2.72 ERA in his last six starts. Compare that to rest of the Texas pitchers who have a 5.53 ERA over the last 11 games. Of concern to Rangers backers is 12-22 record vs. the AL East, which includes 2-5 against the Orioles. However, with Wilson toeing the rubber, a sense of general relief abounds with 11-1 mark vs. AL teams scoring 4.7 or less runs a game on the season. MLB- Houston at Florida 7:10 EDT
Florida is not going to make the playoffs in 2010, but yet again their seemingly endless supply of talent marching up thru the farm system is keeping them around .500. Three promising rookies (Gaby Sanchez, Logan Morrison and Mike Stanton) have contributed to three game win streak and a 6-4 road trip as the Marlins return home. Online sport betting players are voicing a strong opinion about tonight’s matchup with the Astros, moving the Fish from -146 on the ML, all the way to -172 or higher. Houston’s J.A. Happ has made a couple of competent starts since coming from Philadelphia; however Florida is whacking left-handers around with their 23-12 record this season. The Marlins run production has been a bit light, yet they are 9-0 after four or more consecutive Under’s this year. These are certainly not Fish out of water with 6-1 mark over Houston and Anibal Sanchez (9-8, 3.31) is 2-0 with a 0.96 ERA in three career starts against the Stros.
NFL- Philadelphia at Cincinnati 8:00 EDT FOX
Terrell Owens gets to greet a few old teammates when Philadelphia visits Cincinnati. The Bengals are on third contest in 13 days and second in five days and are not expected to play their regulars as much as the Eagles. Philadelphia has a substantial history of playing well in week 2 of the preseason with 10-1 ATS record. Those studying football betting lines have set the total in motion from 35 to 37.5. With the Eagles 8-1 OVER the last two-plus years in preseason and Cincinnati 18-7 OVER as a home favorite of seven points or less, the upward push appears accurate.
MLB – Cincinnati at L.A. Dodgers 10:10 EDT (Line moves in side and total)
It’s been a most disappointing campaign for the Dodgers this year, but as renowned Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully said, “Admittedly you have to hold the mirror to the mouth to see the breath, but they’re (the Dodgers) still mathematically alive.” Sports betting specialists are not so sure, at least for tonight, as L.A. is a -120 ML or lower wagering choice compared to -136 on the overnight number. Cincinnati is in first place in the NL Central and has won six straight. The Dodgers are 3-6 since August 11 and 6-11 against clubs with a winning record. Here is a delicious dilemma for diamond players. The Reds are on major 11-1 road roll, but have lost last dozen visits to Dodger Stadium. The pitching matching of Homer Bailey (2-2, 4.92) and Carlos Monasterios (3-3, 3.72) has the money taking the original total of 7.5 to 8. Bailey has ERA over six against L.A. in three starts and Monasterious is 2-3 with a 4.91 ERA in eight starts this season. Throw this into the blender and see what you get. Los Angeles is 11-2 UNDER after three consecutive contests where they had seven or less hits and Bailey is 8-0 UNDER if Cincy is riding three or more W’s.
