-Jeff Francis, Rockies, allowed one run in 6 2-3 innings to lead Colorado to a 5-1 win over Arizona in Game 1 of the NLCS.

WATERED DOWN

Jeff Francis outpitched Brandon Webb and the Rockies won the NL championship series opener over the Diamondbacks 5-1 Thursday night in a game interrupted when fans angered by an umpire's disputed interference call threw objects onto the field. After several water bottles landed near Colorado players, umpires pulled the teams off the field in the bottom of the seventh inning. Once play resumed, the wild-card Rockies escaped a jam in their NLCS debut and won for the 18th time in 19 games.
