OVER 9.5 PITTSBURGH @ MILWAUKEE | 6/29 | 8:15 PM EDT

Jordan Lyles hasn't started in 21 days, but his last two starts came against the Brewers, and the Pirates lost both with both staying Under. The Pirates won at Milwaukee last night, 3-2, for their third straight win and seventh win in their last eight. Their bats have been hot, and they've hit Brandon Woodruff hard in both meetings (nine runs combined). But the Bucs lost both, and both went Over. The Brewers have lost eight of their last 11. The Pirates are batting .315 in their last eight games. The top play here is the Over.

18-6-1 IN LAST 25 MIL O/U PICKS | +1136

MIAMI +118
PHILADELPHIA @ MIAMI | 6/29 | 4:10 PM EDT

Zach Eflin gave up six runs in his last start, but the Mets blew another one and the Phillies rolled. The Phils had lost five of six behind Eflin before that start even though he pitched well. The Marlins pulled out a win last night to end the Phillies' four-game win streak. Jordan Yamamoto has made three starts, and the only two runs he gave up between them was to Philly in a 6-4 win six days ago. They've seen him, but I don't think they've solved him. Marlins to win.

26-18-2 IN LAST 46 MLB PICKS | +613
5-1 IN LAST 6 PHI ML PICKS | +459

OVER 11.5 N.Y. YANKEES @ BOSTON | 6/29 | 1:10 PM EDT

Rick Porcello faced the Yankees on June 1, gave up five runs and took the 5-3 loss. He also gave up five runs in his last start, and neither of those games happened in London where the field is only 385 to straightaway centerfield. Both teams come in batting .304 or better over the past week and both are playing well with Boston winning 10 of its last 14 and the Yankees winning 11 of 12. Just the Over with hopes the clubs give London a jolly good show.

11-4-1 IN LAST 16 MLB O/U PICKS | +647
18-14-2 IN LAST 34 NYY O/U PICKS | +268

The Diamondbacks should have no problem putting up runs tonight. This is a team that is great against left handed pitching and tonight the pitching matchup clearly favors Zack Greinke. I think Arizona can put up 8 runs all by themselves tonight against the struggling Pomeranz. This is a good spot to play side and total. No parlays. Take the Giants and the Over.

Lyles v. Woodruff
Woody has been solidly backed by us on a regular basis and this spot is even better! The Brewers are 3-1 SU following a home loss in a series when he starts...and Lyles is coming on the IL and hasn't started since the first week of June. Excellent value and spot for that lineup to crush a right handed hitting rusty starter and not worry about the bullpen. Yelich takes him deep at least once in the first 2 at bats almost definitely haha. Woodruff knows he needs to be a stopper and turn this stretch around...especially after losing to the Pirates at home!
Amazing value on the half run only laying less than -150 today and I think BW can shut down the Pirates to 0 or 1 run through 5 almost assuredly!

View Analysis

Sampson v. McKay
The Rays came out just about how I had imagined they would on offense after the 18 inning marathon that was to have been the getaway day back home to prep for the Rangers. Lance Lynn wasn't even a part of that equation, but the fact he was on the mound for the opening game of the series only made that a play I LOVED even more! The hapless Rays managed to strikeout over 10 times and not cross the plate a single time as a result!
Today Sampson is on the mound against an angry, embarrassed Rays lineup and they are giving a reprieve to all regular starters and sending out Brandon McKay, a lefty from AAA, who has been exemplary in his handful of starts and the Rangers have not only faced very few lefties of late, especially on the road, but have been quite subpar facing a lefty period. He sports a 2.88 FIP in addition to his 1.08 ERA and limits HR to the max...an important factor when facing a Rangers lineup facing a pitcher for a first time! A left handed pitcher, especially in a first 5 play, neutralizes the monster that is Gallo, who bats only .200 and has 1 single HR on the road against LHP. The McKay stoppage of a Gallo type hitter fades however, which is why I like the first 5 bet even moreso...Sampson included, with his ERA around 4 but his xFIP right up near 5!
Overall, I think there is also solid value on the full game Rays ML, but I think the even more assured anger and embarrassment comes out quicklly against Sampson and they run him early....and we don't worry about the fatigue coming back into play late when the bullpens take over...considering the Rangers are an actual formidable opponent....basically no matter who the Rays played last night would have been the play...even Baltimore or Detroit!

Verlander v. Kikuchi
System A is 15-6 and looking to top the Kikuchi 15-1-1 to the Over on the season...never has he faced a pitcher even close to this good on the season and will likely be able to combine with the pen to not entirely explode off the radar to keep this under a solidly valuable 9.5!

BEWARE 4-34 HIS LAST 38 PICKS
PLAY: (954) MY METS -103
RATING: 4% PLAY

The Mets find themselves in a must win situation as they host the Braves this afternoon. The season is slipping away for the Mets but they are at home off a loss in the second game of the home stand. The Mets current losing streak was done all on the road against Atlanta, Cubs and Philadelphia all projected playoff teams. Granted the losing streak doesn’t look good but now at home I expect them to turn things around. Losing the first game back at home is not a surprise especially against Atlanta starter Soroka who has been fantastic all year. Today they face Julio Teheran who is a totally different story. Teheran who in his last 3 starts has a ERA of 9.00 and a WHIP of 2.07. Teheran has always battled control problems and when his control is off he gets lit up. In his last 5 starts his strikeout to walk ratio is 14-15. You can’t walk more batters than you strikeout. Steven Matz goes for the Mets and he’s been two different pitchers at home and on the road. The road Matz is terrible but the Home Matz has an ERA of 2.25 and a WHIP of 1.13. In 6 home starts the Mets are 5-1. Note over the last 2 seasons the Mets are 16-8 when Matz starts following a Mets loss. Mets WIN this.

TAKE METS as MARCO’S 4% NL GAME OF THE WEEK

MLB - L.A.Dodgers -145 (5 Dimes)

The Rockies rallied past the Dodgers last night to snap a 12-game skid to Los Angeles dating back to last season. The Dodgers look to rebound tonight behind Clayton Kershaw on the mound, who hasn't faced Colorado this season. Kershaw is coming off a rough outing at Arizona, a place he has struggled throughout his career. The Dodgers won each of Kershaw's two starts against the Rockies last season, while Rockies' starter Jon Gray is winless in his past three starts against Los Angeles.

MLB - Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 runs (+100)

Brandon Woodruff has emerged as the Brewers' ace. While the poor form of the other starters certainly factors in, the first-year full-time starter has blossomed in his third season and will be looking for his 10th win. After opening June with a rough effort, he's struck out 34 over his last 26 innings and should handle the visiting Pirates, getting sufficient run support. Ride Milwaukee on the run line.
