The Tigers' Matthew Boyd has a career 6.23 ERA on the south side of Chicago. While the White Sox are countering with one of the bottom starters in the league (Reynaldo Lopez), it's still a wonder why the White Sox are such a sizeable underdog. Chicago wins nearly 60 percent of my computer simulations, so I'll jump all over the Sox to get the home win.

Oakland has won 10 of 13 and all eight when it's scored more than three runs. Daniel Mengden was recalled in time to throw six innings of shutout ball against the Cardinals. Three of his four starts this year he's allowed one run or less and Oakland has won three of four. The Twins' Jake Odorizzi was among the best pitchers in May but he cooled off in June. The red-hot A's can continue that trend. Back the home dog.

Now he faces a Braves offense averaging 6.7 runs per game over the last month will be a much-tougher challenge than the Marlins and Mets, his last two opponents. Braves hurler Dallas Keuchel has been only OK in two starts but he's backed by a solid bullpen. Atlanta hits well at home, it's worth a backing as a small favorite.

Toronto has hit lefties all right this season, but that historical nugget is just too strong, not to mention he allowed no earned runs in a win over Toronto earlier this year. The Blue Jays' Trent Thornton tossed a quality start against Boston in June, but he's coming off a rough outing and sports a 6.37 ERA at Rogers Centre.
