This totals release has everything to do with the dimensions of the diamond these A.L. East rivals will be playing on. Yes, there is a ton of foul ground with the layout of this field, but there is also some very short distances to travel for the baseball to leave the yard in fair territory, as down the left-field and right-field line the distance is just 330', while to hit one out in dead center the distance is just 385'.
The Yankees have homered in every game this year, well, it's actually 29 straight games, but it sure seems like the Bronx Bombers homer in every game. That being the case, look for New York to treat the fans to a display of home runs this weekend.
It will start with today's game against Rick Porcello who allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in under 5 innings of work versus the Yankees back on June 1st. Procello is just 1-3 with an ERA of 4.75 in 4 starts in the month of June,
Masahiro Tanaka will get the ball for the Yankees, and he has a penchant for giving up the long-ball, so count on Boston bopping a couple out against the Yankee hurler. Tanaka's career ERA against the Sox is 4.35.

The Rays should have no problem securing a win at home on Saturday. Tampa Bay is sending out two-way star Brendan McKay, who is considered as their top pitching prospect. I think McKay has the goods here to put the Rangers 6-game winning streak to rest.
McKay posted a 1.30 ERA in 8 appearances at Double-A and followed that up with a 1.08 ERA in 4 appearances (3 starts) at Triple-A. Not only am I expecting big things from McKay in this outing, but I also think the Rays offense comes to life against Rangers starter Adrian Sampson, who has a mere 5.23 ERA in 10 starts overall and a 10.80 ERA and 2.026 WHIP in 3 road starts.
Texas has lost 6 straight road starts by Sampson and have lost 4 in a row when he takes the mound against a team with a winning record. Forget who is starting, Rangers as a team are just 6-20 in their last 26 on the road vs a team with a winning home record. Take Tampa Bay!

The New York Mets have lost six straight coming in. It’s safe to say they will be highly motivated for a victory here, especially after losing Game 1 of this series to the Braves.
New York starter Steven Matz has been pretty unhittable at home this season. He is 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 1.139 WHIP in six home starts. He has also done very well against the Braves, going 5-1 with a 3.40 ERA and 1.152 WHIP in nine career starts against them.
Julio Teheran has struggled on the road this season. He has gone 2-4 with a 4.56 ERA in 10 starts away from home. Teheran is 0-2 with a 14.63 ERA in his last two starts coming in. One of those came against the Mets on June 16th as he allowed 6 earned runs and 11 base runners in 4 innings of a 2-10 loss.
