Washington should not be this big of a favorite. Even though Stephen Strasburg has won seven consecutive starts, Arizona starter Robbie Ray is coming off a strong July, with quality starts in four of five outings. My model says that the Diamondbacks win this game almost 50 percent of the time, so you're getting great value with Arizona at plus-money. Take the D-backs.

My model says that the Braves win this game more than 70 percent of the time, so you're getting great value at this price. Atlanta starter Dallas Keuchel has been terrific at home this season, going 1-1 with a 2.66 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP in three starts. Meanwhile, Trevor Bauer, who is making his Reds debut, is coming off one of his worst starts of the season, giving up seven earned runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings at Kansas City. Take the Braves.

Mets -120 over Pirates
Stroman/Archer
The Mets have been a little bit better of a baseball team this year and their starting pitcher Marcus Stroman is getting better as the year goes on. Chris Archer is fading fast and not in command of his pitches as of late for the Pirates. The longer Stroman can go the better it is to keep the New York Bullpen off the field. This guy has looked really good this year and I believe their is great value at -120 because the pitching matchup on paper is not even close to being even. Take the Mets.

Gonzalez v. Hamels
Slight to no wind at 5mph or so inward to the 3rd baseline, Lance Barksdale behind the plate...the pitcher's umpire of umpires on today's slate. 8 total runs allowed in his Wrigley games this season...3 and 5 and with Atlanta and LAD visiting, 2 of the top 5 teams in runs per game.
Hamels is exemplary at home and Gio just shut the Cubs down hard last time out...including 9 Ks and with a first 5 play we avoid and RHP for the most part as well as in a spot that feels so Under we get the full basic 9/5 total split....and that SPELLS VALUE!

Kuechel v. Bauer
Yesterday's line was JUST wrong. We had many many people I respect HARD on the Braves so I measured my approach and decided were Alex Wood not able to get into the 6th or 7th maybe it wasn't worth the risk of fading powerful minds. The way to go sometimes when you face those spots is to take the team total and worry little about outcomes. No bet did I feel more confident than the Reds Over 3.5 runs and they got halfway there before ATL recorded a single out. The + money win was something I also wanted to hit...especially with Gausman on the bump.
The Braves have a far better record and overall a far better offensive lineup than the Reds...but there are aspects to what the Reds did this week that makes the Reds more "dangerous" per se. First off, if Alex Wood pitches against the good teams like he did last night...aa the 4TH STARTER! opponents be in trouble if the Reds can put up enough offense. Specifically...platoon guys who may have not know where they stand...at the very least...are gonna play and have a chance to contribute!
Bauer is making his debut, now gets to face the pitcher at least every 3rd inning, and gets to work with Derek Johnson. That final analysis has probably gone sorely unnoticed
for a large portion of this season...and while he obviously has literally 0 chance of winning the Cy Young Award, people around the league and especially in Cincy know who the rightful winner of that award in the NL should be! Bauer was a Cy Young contender the last couple seasons and now moves to the pitcher friendlier league and teams with the genius of the GAB, Derek Johnson...taking his staff and allowing the fewest HRs this season despite playing in a home bandbox.
Bauer should come out today and prove the reason he was worth the big price paid by the Reds to ensure the best overall pitching rotation from now til October of 2020 lies in the Queen City on the Ohio River.
Kuechel should be able to minimize the damage done by the Reds offense who will likely dabble with interesting lineup quirks again tonight...and should get many many rolled over sinners to go for easy groundouts and come down to a late 2-2 type game!

Kuechel v. Bauer
This line is sillier or AS silly as last night...tiny price for a Bauer debut and plus runs?! Kuechel will prove better than Gausman did last night in my estimation...but even were I to think this is 0-0 (which it damn well might be) we win this bet at just -125 for MLB...maybe with the better team and certainly the currently better starter in above all a "prove you were worth such a (confusing?) trade" spot.
Considering I'm dabbling with a small bet on the Reds ML this value is wild stuff. Sam Holbrook behind the plate is the second consecutive ump the Braves draw at home who regularly has road teams outscore his home squads...as well as 60% Under in National League games.
**BONUS**
I also recommend a little on the Reds to win this and take 2 in a row on this road trip

#930: Philadelphia Phillies (-275) over Chicago White Sox#930: Philadelphia Phillies (-1.5) (-140) over Chicago White Sox
Analysis: Philadelphia is my strongest technical investment of the day as the Phillies apply to very good 63-23, 51-13, 41-11, 30-8 and 6-0 systems of mine. Philadelphia right-hander Aaron Nola is 9-2 with a 3.72 ERA in 2019, including going 3-1 with a 1.99 ERA over his last eight starts. Nola has been at his best this season inside the friendly confines of Citizens Bank Park where he owns a 3.21 ERA, 3.77 FIP, and a 27.7% strikeout rate. The 26-year-old also posted a 2.52 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 39.1 innings in July.
Finally, Philadelphia is a profitable 28-11 in Nola's last 39 home starts, 20-6 in his last 26 starts versus teams with a losing record (13-4 at home) and 36-16 in his previous 52 outings overall. With Philadelphia standing at 21-6 in its last 27 home games versus .399 or worse opposition, take the Phillies and invest with confidence.

Stroman v. Archer
It's STROMAN TIME! The first big domino to drop may also have been the most confusing...but then Wheeler and Thor didn't get moved and now the Mets move toward the playoff stretch with a shot....and more importantly...a rotation of DeGrom, Thor, Wheeler, Matz, Stroman...arguable they overtook the Nats for best top to bottom rotation in the NL East!
Stroman is having extremely mixed feelings...but is a stud on the mound for any team. He is better on the road! He has been much better since July 1st than he even was prior to July...and prior to July he led the AL in ERA! Similar to Bauer he is also given the gift of moving to the league where he'll face the pitcher every 3rd inning at worst!
The Mets basically announced they are gonna come for the playoffs this season as well as future seasons...and following a loss to the reeeeeeling Buccos it is hard to imagine they lose back to back games...especially...
With Chris Archer on the mound!...most recently of losing almost all potential street credibility getting trampled and looking laughable in the brawl...tumbling quickly they succumbing to feisty Sonny Gray followed by Puig! Chris Archer ain't no match for Marcus Stroman and this first 5 price is quite excellent....we will of course need the Mets to gets the bats going...but I feel like the motivation might be big at the start!

Gonzales v. Sanchez
My personal favorite play of the day...for so many reasons....and tonight's slate is loaded with AWESOME spots! We have Marco in an 0-4 lifetime spot traveling to Houston...1-3 on the RL but solid. return. We have the Stros in an 11-4 RL spot for over 40% ROI. Correa is still back and the Astros bats are striking out at a near record setting miniscule pace...7% of at bats the past 2 weeks against LHP!!
Who'd a thunk! Aaron Sanchez....the subject of possibly the largest of amount of 2019 MLB betting ire...now is the anchor of the prohibitive favorite to win the series! Yep, same guy we faded recently and wrote about the borderline phenomenal fall from grace...top ERA, top 5 Cy Young voting, and cover of Canadian version of MLB '18! Fast forward to 2019 and we have a record being set for consecutive losses and losing 14 decisions of 17 starts etc! The dude has a change of scenery! Maybe the best scenery available...and if he can get right mentally he is flat out DANGEROUS. This is gonna be nasty for the M's tonight because they are almost certainly gonna get the goods goods and get fooled by the worst statistical pitcher in the league!
Astros career starts with a big bang

Unbelievable price and a super rare amazing system that draws Stephen Strasburg tonight! Going back 5 years I have a play that has only occurred 14 times and 13 of those road teams win for close to 40% ROI!
Let's go SS....cash that and take lame duck still a Dback Robbie Ray down in the process!
