The Rockies' offense has been a major disappointment. That's been especially true on the road and that includes scoring just four runs in two losses at Miller Park. Milwaukee goes for the sweep and are unbeaten when Chase Anderson gets the ball. The Brew Crew win more than 60 percent of my simulations and at a fair price.

Max Scherzer is throwing at home for the Nationals, which used to be a slam dunk. But not this season. The Nats are 1-5 when the Cy Young winner takes the ball. My projections see another loss in the column against Miles Mikolas and a Cardinals team that's won nine of 10. St. Louis actually wins just over half of my computer model's simulations. Take the Cards as a massive underdog value.

These teams have been all over the under. For Toronto's it's hit in seven of the last eight games, for Philly it's been four straight. But now the oddsmakers have adjusted and dropped the total nearly 10 points from Game 1 and six points from Game 2. My projections, meanwhile, see an uptick in scoring from the first two games, and the over hits in nearly 70 percent of my projections.

A week ago, Ivan Nova and the White Sox were the same price on the road in Baltimore. That proved to be an improper price as Nova continued his poor start to the season. After four innings, Nova had yielded nine runs. Yet, oddsmakers have left the price the same for Tuesday. Look for Orioles pitcher Andrew Casher to struggle this time, and for the White Sox to deliver Nova his first win.

Analysis: At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New York Islanders over the Carolina Hurricanes. There have been upsets in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, but none more surprising than the Hurricanes victories in the first two games of this second round series. The 'Canes had to go to seven games to beat the Caps, while the Islanders were well-rested after a first round sweep of the Pens. But that hasn't mattered so far as the Canes out-played the Isles at home as they did in Game 7 of the series with DC. But Game 2 was costly to Carolina, as it lost two more players to injury, including #1 goalie Petr Mrazek who left in the 2nd period with a groin injury. Back-up Curtis McElhinney came in and stopped all 17 shots he faced, but asking him to do that again after he played in just one regular season game since the end of March is a tall order. The Isles know that a loss tonight would basically end their season so expect them to come out swinging tonight. The good news for them is that, with the 'Canes victories in the first two games, the road team is now 7-1 in the last eight meetings. And the Islanders are 11-1 this season off back to back losses, and 16-1 after not scoring 3 or more goals in any of their two previous games. Take New York.
