Sunday free play in the NBA on the Rockets and Warriors to hold Under the total in Game One.

Highly anticipated series rematch from last year's Western Conference Finals, only this time the teams are meeting in the semifinals. No matter the round of the postseason, it seems the betting public feels that these teams are going to ring up the points, but that has not generally been the case when the Rockets and Warriors tangle.

Only one time in this year's regular season's 4 meetings did the teams play Over the total, and that game was aided by 31 combined points in overtime. Also keep in mind that in last year's playoff showdown, each of the final 5 games played in their best-of-seven set all held Under the total.

4 of the last 5 played between the teams in Oakland have held Under the total, as have 16 of the last 21 overall meetings between these Western Conference rivals.

Houston comes into this opening game with 3 straight playoff Unders to their credit, and the Under is 4-1 overall in their 5 playoff games so far.

True, Golden State has played their last pair and 4 of their last 5 this postseason Over the total, but based on the numbers against Houston that I listed above, I think it's time to trend Low in this first game of the series.

Rockets-Warriors to play Under the posted price.

2* HOUSTON-GOLDEN STATE UNDER

Sunday's comp play is for the Rockies and the Braves to end their weekend series with plenty of crooked digits on the Sun Trust Park scoreboard.

It will be Tyler Anderson and Kevin Gausman toeing the slab in this one, and Anderson's 3 starts to date have all played Over the total, as the southpaw hurler has seen 22 hits allowed which has led to 17 runs in just 12 innings pitched!

As for Gausman, his numbers are certainly better than Anderson's but Gausman just endured a rough ride in his last start at Cincinnati, allowing 8 hits and 6 runs (5 of them earned) in his 5-plus innings of work.

The teams put up a combined 12 runs for an Over on Friday night, and they combined for another 14 runs on Saturday for another game that landed Over the total. Colorado has now played 3 straight and 5 of their last 7 games Over the posted price, while Atlanta is now Over the total in 6 of their last 8 on the year.

With the bats barreling up the ball on both teams, and the pitchers on both teams appearing a little suspect, going to call for the runs to once again add up in Cobb County.

Rockies and Braves to play Over the total.

5* COLORADO-ATLANTA OVER

We cashed in on the Minnesota Twins the past two nights with blowout wins over big the Baltimore Orioles. I like the Twins on the run line against the Orioles in this game as well, and I'm rolling it to the complimentary section.

IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who is pitching for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by betting the game over again in the event that takes place.

As I told you a few nights back and again on Friday, I thought the Seattle Mariners were the surprise team in the bigs this season, but here come the Twins, who sit atop the American League Central along with the Cleveland Indians. The Twins are one game in front of the Tribe.

And it's because of a surging offense that ranks among the best in several categories and has produced a 24-run differential.

The Twins are now 7-4 at home this season, and I tried to tell you their weekend series against the last-place Orioles, who are looking up at everyone in the A.L. East, and it wouldn't surprise me to see Minnesota with an 8-4 home mark after the weekend.

Minnesota has seen and hit the ball well the first month of the season, as it is ranks third in the league with a .269 batting average. The Twins also boast the No. 1 slugging percentage (.514), the 13th-best on-base percentage (.332), and the league's best OPS (on-base plus slugging) at .846.

Jorge Polanco is hitting .341 heading into this one. He ranks 11th with a 1.033 OPS, one of eight 9 American League hitters with an OPS higher than 1.000. Then there's Eddie Rosario, who leads the junior circuit with 11 home runs - third-highest overall, after cranking one out in the first game of this series. He is the fifth Twin since 2009 to hit 10 or more home runs in a month.

Also chipping in on offense has been Byron Buxton, who is second in the league with 12 doubles. And of his 19 total hits this season, 13 have gone for extra bases, as he also has a triple.

The Orioles have been outscored by 59 runs through 28 games, and the 180 runs they've allowed are most in the bigs. Baltimore's ERA ballooned to 6.11 - the only team with an ERA of 6 or higher - while they're allowing opponents to hit .285 - worst in the league.

This is another good spot to play the Twins on the run line.

Ricky's 1* free play on the “under” Colorado/San Jose Game 2.

Key Angle: It's important to remember that Ricky never makes a bet on any game based on just one angle. In order to make the grade, all his premium picks must meet several important criteria. He doesn't share all his secrets within his analysis, instead he chooses to reveal only the angle that he feels is the most significant.

- Fatigue. San Jose surprised me with its energy in Game 1 after its gruelling seven-game first round series victory. The Avs looked a little shaky and couldn’t capitalize from a few extra days off after they steamrolled the Flames in five games. I’m expecting a much more defensive affair in game 2 though. Colorado goaltender Phillip Grubauer was strong in the series win over Calgary and I think he’ll bounce back fine here.

Key Trends:

- Colorado has seen the total dip under the number in 15 of its last 25 after allowing four or more goals.

- San Jose has seen the total go under in four of its last five after a three-games unbeaten streak.

The verdict: I believe Game 2 will be a much tighter and ultimately lower-scoring affair than what we saw in Game 1. Play the under!

Hurricanes vs. Islanders
Islanders-135

This is a Free play on NYI.

Of all the surprises in the first round of the playoffs, the Islanders beating Pittsburgh perhaps shouldn't have been all that shocking. While nobody expected them to win the series in four games, they did have a better record than the Penguins in the regular season, and they had home ice advantage in the series. Home ice is huge for an Islanders team that was 24-13-4 at home. The Hurricanes lost three of four games at Washington in the first round, but still managed to pull out a win in overtime in Game 7. The Islanders are just a slight favorite in this series, and they have home ice, superior goaltending and they are well rested.

Take NYI.

UNDER 8

The MLB Comp play for Sunday is to play under the total in the Tampa at Boston game at 1:05 eastern. This game fits a nice totals system that plays under for home favorites in the first 3 months of the season in game 2 or later of a series when both teams scored 2 or less runs in their last game. This system is 23-13 under. Tamps has gone under 5 of 6 vs leftys and 7 of 9 in division play. Boston is 6 of 8 under in division play and 4 of 5 on Sundays. Eddinger is behind the dish and 6 of 7 have gone under when hes back there on a Sunday. Glasnow for Tampa has been solid with a 1.96 era and he is 10 of 13 under of late. He opposes C. Sale so this game looks a pitching duel could materialize. Play the Under. For the MLB Free pick. Play Boston and Tampa Bay Under the total. RV- GC Sports

Edges - Mariners: Swanson 3.86 ERA with 0.77 WHIP this season … Rangers: Lynn 6.51 ERA with 1.55 WHIP this season, and 2-7 last nine team starts in April, including 1-4 away. We recommend a 1* play on Seattle. Thank you and good luck as always.

Reds vs. Cardinals
Cardinals-140

My 1* Free Play is on the St. Louis Cardinals.

St. Louis bounced back for a lop-sided loss on Friday to take yesterday’s game 6-3. I think the home side will now build off that victory.

St. Louis goes with Jack Flaherty (2-1, 5.25 ERA), who is 0-2 with a 4.41 ERA vs. the Reds. Flaherty has so far traded good starts with bad this year.

But the Cardinals come in having won six of their last seven at home and 11 of their last 13 at Busch.

The visitors counter with Sonny Gray (0-3, 3.65), who gave up four runs off six hits over 5 1/3’s innings in a fortunate no-decision vs. the Braves on Tuesday.

Despite their big offensive explosion on Friday night, note that the Reds are still a pathetic 4-9 (-4.4 units) this season as an underdog in the +100 to +150 range.

Conversely note that the Cards are a solid 5-2 (+2.3 units) this year as a home fav in the -100 to -150 range.

Consider St. Louis on Sunday afternoon.

Good luck…Larry

Rays vs. Red Sox
Rays+140

Being a six-month sport, baseball is all about value. There certainly is value backing Tampa Bay here. Tyler Glasnow may be due for regression, but he has been one of the best pitchers in baseball so far with a 4-0 record and 1.53 ERA. Glasnow has been unscored upon on the road in 12 innings this season. Chris Sale has been one of the worst, the most disappointing pitcher in the American League up to this point with a 7.43 ERA. Boston has lost in each of Sale's past five starts. The Royals are 6-2 the past eight times facing a lefty starter. The Red Sox are banged-up. Their latest injury comes to their most feared slugger, J.D. Martinez. He's questionable due to back spasms that caused him to miss Saturday's game. The Rays have a phenomenal Sunday record going 10-1.

Rockies vs. Braves

1* Free MLB Pick on Colorado Rockies +1.5 (-130)

The Rockies have really turned things around after that miserable 3-12 start to the season. After scoring 5 runs in the 9th inning of yesterday's 9-5 win against the Braves, Colorado has won 3 straight and 9 of their last 11 overall.

During this run the Rockies have scored fewer than 4 runs only once. They come into today's game having scored 8 or more in each of their last 3 games. I like their chances of staying hot against Braves starter Kevin Gausman, who has a 5.50 ERA in his last 3 starts.

I know the numbers are great for Rockies starter Tyler Anderson, but Colorado has found a way to win 8 straight at Sun Trust Park and I'm confident they make it 9 in a row. Just for a little extra insurance, I'm going to play the Rockies on the run line. Take Colorado +1.5!

Rockets vs. Warriors
Warriors-5½

With the line having come down a bit from its opener, I like the champs in this afternoon's series opener against Houston. True, the Rockets have had more rest. However, they're just 1-3 ATS when playing with three or more day's rest in between games. Its also worth mentioning that the Rockets are just 5-7 ATS the last 12 times that they were listed as road underdogs of six or fewer points. The Warriors are a perfect 9-0 SU the past 2+ seasons, in the first game of a series. Expect them to improve on those stats here, covering the relatively small number along the way. Consider Golden State.

Chicago has won their last four series and needs a win here to make it five series in a row and are up against a D'backs clubs that had won five straight until Saturday's loss (Megabucks win for 'us). After scoring 38 runs in five games Arizona cooled off getting just one Saturday. Back to the norm today. Take the DIAMONDBACKS!
