The Miami Marlins (3-9 Overall, 1-4 Away) are looking to avoid getting swept by the Cincinnati Reds (3-8 Overall, 3-4 Home) this afternoon.
The Miami Marlins took a heartbreaking 2-1 loss yesterday, but are looking to bounce back and get a win.
In order to do so, they must get a quality start from Pablo Lopez (1-1, 6.10 ERA). Lopez has never faced the Reds in his career.
He has made 10 starts in the majors. He carries a 4.14 ERA in those starts. He is 1-2 with a 5.27 ERA in five road starts in his short career.
Lopez will need run support. The Marlins are hitting .167 in road games this season.
Cincinnati will had the ball to Sonny Gray (0-2, 2.89 ERA). Sonny has pitched well to start the year, but has been unable to get wins.
If Cincinnati can swing the bats well, expect Gray to excel on the mound. The Reds are hitting just .202 at home this year, but hitting well this series.
Look for Gray to have a solid performance this afternoon The Reds lineup should get to Lopez early in this one.
