My free winner is an overnight winner from the World Cup, as I'm going to take a shot with the story of the entire tournament: Iceland.

Iceland takes on Argentina, and I'm looking at +900 at most place with a team that will be no pushover in this event, taking on a team that needed a hat trick from star Lionel Messi in the final qualifier just to get to Russia.

In fact, Argentina stumbled through an 18-game South American qualifying group, and like the Cleveland Cavaliers depended on LeBron James, needed Messi's seven goals to advance. Argentina scored a mere 19 goals.

Needless to say, the road to Russia has been paved with struggle for Argentina and it doesn't end in taking on Iceland, with defender Birkir Saevarsson leading the charge.

Forget about the stories about this little-populated place of 350,000 people, it's more about this group of football - er, soccer - players who have bonded under a chemistry because you don't see many lineup changes or tweaks. This team has made things work with the talent it puts on the field.

Two-thirds of Iceland's squad remains the same from the 2016 European Championship, where the team went unbeaten from the group stage and went on to beat England 2-1 before losing in the quarterfinals to France, 5-2.

The value is with Iceland in this one, as I'm shocked at how big this number is.

3* ICELAND

Your Saturday freebie is the Under in the Nationals-Blue Jays.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that anytime Max Scherzer steps to the bump there could be a no-hitter thrown.

Mighty Max stands at 10-2 with an ERA of 2.00. Over his last 3 starts his ERA is smaller at 1.57, and better still, all 3 of those ballgames have ended up holding Under the total.

Marco Estrada will oppose, and while his numbers are not anywhere near Scherzer's, all the southpaw needs to do is give us 5 or 6 quality innings, and Scherzer can do the rest.

Toronto is 16-6-5 Under the total on the turf their last 27 games, while Washington is on an overall Under run of 13-4 their last 17 games.

Nats-Jays Under for Saturday.

3* WASHINGTON-TORONTO UNDER

Astros vs. Royals
OVER 9

I like the value here with the OVER in Saturday's MLB action that has the Royals hosting the Astros. These two teams hit double-digits in the series opener on Friday and I look for both offenses to produce in this one.

The Royals don't have a great offense, but will facing the struggling Dallas Keuchel, who has an ugly 9.00 ERA and 1.937 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Keuchel is also just 3-8 with a 4.45 ERA and 1.318 WHIP in 14 starts overall.

Houston has one of the best offenses in the game and will be facing the Royals Danny Duffy, who owns a 5.68 ERA and 1.619 WHIP in 5 home starts. Duffy has been pitching better of late, but will have a tough time keeping the Astros offense in check. Take the OVER!

10* FREE MLB PICK (Red Sox -106)

I'll take my chances here with Boston as a short road favorite against the Mariners. The Red Sox are one of the best teams in the game and while the Mariners have also started the season great, they have been extremely fortunate in close games. That's only going to last for so long. I just don't see Seattle being able to keep pace offensively in this one, as the Red Sox will give the rock to Steven Wright, who hasn't given up a run in his first two starts of 2018. In fact, Wright has only given up 6 hits in 13 2/3 innings of work. Give me Boston -106!

Red Sox vs. Mariners
UNDER 8½ -104

The Seattle Mariners defeated the Boston Red Sox 7-6 Friday night. I think we'll see way fewer runs in a pitchers duel here on Saturday.

Knuckleballer Steven Wright (2-0, 1.21 ERA) is 2-1 with a 1.32 ERA in three career appearances against the Mariners, including one start, and he hasn't allowed a single earned run in either of his two starts on the season. Seattle left-hander Wade LeBlanc (2-0, 3.00 ERA) is having a terrific year, and under is 6-1-1 in his last 8 starts overall. Under is 9-2 in Red Sox last 11 overall.

Under is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. Under is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings at Safeco.

Mets vs. Diamondbacks
Diamondbacks-156

My free play is on the Arz D'backs at 10:10 ET. The Arizona Diamondbacks lost 15 of 17 games from May 9 through May 25 and fell out of first-place in the NL West. However, Arizona has rebounded to win 13 of 17 to reach 39-30, and the D'backs are back atop the division by 2 1/2 games. They have been swinging hot bats recently in winning seven of their last eight games (have scored at least six runs in each of those seven victories). Arizona has taken the first two of this four-game series with the Mets (6-3 and 7-3) and will host the Mets again on Saturday night. New York opened the 2018 season 11-1 but takes the field tonight the losers of four straight and 12 of 13. The Mets are now a dismal 17-37 since that 11-1 start and at 28-38, have already fallen 10 1/2 games out in the NL East.

It's a 'battle' of lefties tonight at Chase Field, as New York's Steven Matz (2-4, 3.53 ERA) takes on Arizona's Patrick Corbin (6-2, 3.21 ERA). Matz last pitched on June 9 (did not factor in the decision against the New York Yankees) but was pushed back two days due to a blister on his left middle finger. The Mets are 6-6 with Matz on the mound this season and in his two career starts vs Arizona, he's yet to earn a decision (the Mets are 1-1 with Matz posting a 5.40 ERA).

Corbin started last Monday's game vs Pittsburgh but was fortunate to come away with a no-decision, after surrendering five runs on seven hits and three walks in just 5.1 innings (D'backs won 9-5). Corbin has struggled here at home since defeating San Diego 4-2 back on April 22, going 0-2 with a 6.17 ERA in four his last four home starts (team is 1-3). Also, his record vs the Mets is nothing special, going 1-3 with a 3.75 ERA in eight career games (seven starts) against them.

However, the play here is based on more than just the starting pitchers, although I will note that Corbin ranks fourth in the NL with a 1.00 WHIP and his 110 strikeouts are third-best. Arizona takes the field looking to build on its 10-3 June (13-4 run since snapping that 2-15 run!), while New York is 'sprinting' in the opposite direction, having have lost 12 of 13 to fall a season-low 10 games below .500. Stick with the D'backs.

Good luck...Larry

Nationals vs. Blue Jays
Nationals-1½ -135

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #979 Saturday Free Pick Washington Nationals Run Line -1.5 runs -135 @ Toronto Blue Jays @ 4:05 ET - The Nationals lost last night's game by a single run but should bounce back in a big way here with their ace on the mound. Max Scherzer is 10-2 this season including 6-1 on the road and he has a 2.05 ERA in his 7 starts away from home. Overall, Washington is 11-3 in his starts this season and 10 of those 11 wins have come by a margin of 2 or more runs. Of course I am not going to suggest laying a huge price with the Nationals money line but, as you can see, we get a very fair price by simply taking the Nats to win by 2 or more runs. With Scherzer on the mound I like the strong odds in our favor here. Although the Blue Jays Marco Estrada is off of back to back strong starts, he did face the miserable Orioles in his most recent start. Prior to that win versus Baltimore, Estrada was 0-4 in home starts this season! 6 of the 7 losses that Toronto has in Estrada starts this season have come by a margin of 2 or more runs. In other words, if you expect the Jays to lose this game you can see why the odds heavily favor that defeat coming by 2 or more runs. With Scherzer giving the Nationals a huge edge on the mound, I am laying the 1.5 runs in this one. The Blue Jays are 2-8 in Saturday games this season while Washington is a long-term 41-9 (82%) as a road favorite of -175 or more on the money line. That said, a win is likely and I look for it to be a road rout! Free Pick WASHINGTON Run Line -1.5 runs -135

CHRIS JORDAN

My free play take us to SunTrust Park in Atlanta, where I'm playing the visiting San Diego Padres against the Atlanta Braves.

And I want you to be sure to lists the scheduled starting pitchers: Jordan Lyles and Sean Newcomb.

Real quick with this freebie, without getting too long-winded...

Lyles was effective after he was inserted into the rotation last month, and while I know the right-hander has experienced a grind of late, I think he'll be motivated in this one, looking for revenge. He just met Newcomb and the Braves at the beginning of the month, and lost. Tonight he gets revenge.

Lyles has allowed 11 hits in consecutive starts, and in his outing Monday against St. Louis he recorded only three swings and misses on 102 pitches. He will improve for the Friars tonight, as it can only get better - not worse.

Meanwhile, Newcomb is in after surrendering five earned runs to the Dodgers his last time out. He was tagged for a couple of first-pitch home runs and committed an error that proved costly during a three-run third inning. If San Diego can jump on him early in support of Lyles, he'll get rattled in this one.

Take the road dog with value, and list both.

5* PADRES (Lyles over Newcomb)
__________________

BRAD WILTON

Saturday comp play will be to look for Atlanta to bounce-back after getting run over last night by San Diego, as Sean Newcomb tames the Padres bats and the Braves win this one on the RUN LINE.

No doubt San Diego is playing some surprisingly solid baseball this month, but starter Jordan Lyles has not been up to snuff. Lyles has lost his last pair of starts, including getting peppered for 8 runs on 11 hits in just over 4 innings hurled. Overall, Lyles has worked just 10 plus innings his last 2 starts, and has allowed 22 hits and a dozen runs. That won't cut it against Newcomb.

Newcomb is having a breakout season at 7-2 with a 2.92 ERA, and comes into this start having worked 6 scoreless with just 3 hits allowed in San Diego 2 starts ago against Lyles and the Pads.

Braves take this one by at least 2 runs or better.

2* ATLANTA -1 1/2 RUNS

Chicago vs. St. Louis Over 8.5 +100

Expect plenty of run scoring chances here in this one on Saturday night.

Chicago comes in off a 13 run performance on Friday night. It looked as if they were taking out some frustrations, as this offense found success in all parts of the lineup.

Expect a lot more of that here as Carlos Martinez gets the ball for St. Louis. He has struggled since his return from the DL and owns a 4.53 ERA in his career against the Cubs.

Kyle Hendricks has dropped 3 straight starts and will take on a lineup that bashed 3 home runs on Friday.

Some trends to note. Over is 4-0-1 in Martinezs last 5 starts vs. Cubs.

Look for both sides to have a lot of traffic on the bases.

Back the Over.

Good Luck, Razor Ray.

UNDER 8½

The Padres battered the Braves for nine runs on Friday. I don't see San Diego doing nearly that kind of damage against Atlanta today. The Padres are well below average offensively and facing emerging star Sean Newcomb. Newcomb is coming off a rare poor start this past Sunday against the Dodgers. Prior to that Newcomb had a 1.96 ERA in 11 starts holding foes to a .195 batting average. Jordan Lyles was once a highly touted pitcher. He's finally showing signs of emerging moving from reliever to starter. He's made seven starts this season holding three opponents to two earned runs or fewer. He's backed by an underrated bullpen. If you discount an eight-run game against the Mets, the Braves are averaging 2.8 runs in their last seven games. Both starting pitchers should get a huge boost with Doug Eddings slated to be the home plate umpire. The Under has cashed in 76 percent of the past 26 games Eddings has been behind the plate. Eddings has the highest percentage of strikes called during the last five years than any other umpire. There isn't much wind, but the wind there is will be blowing in.

White Sox over Tigers

Miguel who? After three games without their offensive powerhouse the Tigers have gone 3-0 and have now won 14 of their last 23 games including four straight at Comiskey Park. Detroit will start Jordon Zimmermann (2-0, 4.88 ERA) who came off the DL Friday and is 5-2 with a 5.73 ERA lifetime against the White Sox while the struggling Lucas Giolito (4-7, 7.09) is 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA in two career starts against Detroit. The 'numbers' are shaky but the Pale Hose are the side. Take CHICAGO!
