I like getting the Cleveland Indians at basically even money at home tonight against the New York Yankees. I believe they have the advantage on the mound with Mike Clevinger over C.C. Sabathia in this one.
Clevinger has been one of the most underrated starters in baseball over the past two seasons. He is 7-4 with a 3.34 ERA and 1.233 WHIP in 18 starts this season. Clevinger has posted a 2.46 ERA and 0.682 WHIP in one career start against the Yankees as well.
C.C. Sabathia is pitching above his talent level this season thus far, going 6-4 with a 3.34 ERA and 1.283 WHIP in 17 starts. But he has been worse on the road, where he’s 2-3 with a 4.42 ERA and 1.397 WHIP in seven starts away from home.
Cleveland is 56-18 after having lost four or five of its last six games over the past three seasons. The Yankees are 1-4 in Sabathia’s last five road starts. The Indians are 63-28 in their last 91 home games, including 18-7 in their last 25 home games vs. a left-handed starter. Cleveland is 7-1 in Clevinger’s last eight Saturday starts. Bet the Indians Saturday.

Reynaldo Lopez has been a bright spot for the Sox this season. He is 4-6 with a 3.77 ERA in 18 starts, including 2-1 with a 2.72 ERA in seven home starts. Lopez is 2-0 with a 3.28 ERA in four previous starts against the Royals, and the White Sox are 4-0 in those four starts. Danny Duffy is 4-8 with a 4.89 ERA and 1.49 WHIP in 19 starts this season. The left-hander is 7-6 with a 4.62 ERA in 20 previous starts against the White Sox, including 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA in his last two, yielding 9 earned runs and 4 homers in 10 innings. I'll take my chances here with Minnesota at home on the money line against the Rays. Going into Friday's action the Twins have gone 7-1 over their last 8 games. The offense has been red-hot of late and I look for them to put up a big number here against the Rays Chris Archer, who is making just his second start back from the DL. He only lasted 3 1/3 innings in his first start back at home against the Tigers. As for the Twins, they will send out Jose Berrios, who has been lights out at home this season. Berries is 7-2 with a 2.76 ERA and 0.857 WHIP in 10 home starts. Give me Minnesota -135!
