Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #905 Sunday Free Pick Philadelphia Phillies Money Line (+) vs Washington Nationals @ 1:35 ET - Great home dog value here. Even though the Phillies Jake Arrieta is off of a tough home start that was against the power hitting Yankees. Even with that rare sub-par home outing included, Arrieta has a 2.42 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in his 8 home starts this season. He should get right back on track at Citizens Bank Park early Sunday afternoon versus the slumping Nationals. Washington has lost 13 of its last 18 games. Also, Arrieta has held the Nats to 1 earned run on just 4 hits in the 10 innings spanning his last two starts versus the division rivals. His counterpart today is a struggling Gio Gonzalez. Not only does the Nationals southpaw have a 10.64 ERA his last 3 starts, his struggles go even further back as Gonzalez finished the month of June with an ugly 8.44 ERA. The Nats have lost each of his last 3 starts. The Phillies have won 12 of their last 19 games and this is clearly a case of two teams currently going opposite directions plus Arrieta (strong at home this season) is much more likely to come up with a solid start than Gonzalez (struggling with command). Free Pick PHILADELPHIA

Aces vs. Sparks
Sparks-12½ -110

The WNBA Comp Play is on the LA. Sparks at 5:00 eastern. The Sparks have right back revenge here at home tonight after losing in Las Vegas by 16. LA has covered 5 of 6 vs losing teams, 5 of 5 on Sundays and both times off a favored loss. They have shot under 40% in back to back games but should be much better tonight against a Vegas team that has failed to cover 4 of 5 on Sundays and fits a play against system that pertains to road dogs off a home dog win that scored 85 or more. Look for LA to serve up some revenge.

Play - L.A. Angels vs Gausman (Game 915).

Edges - Angels: 8-1 last nine games in this series … Orioles: Gausman 0-8 L8 overall team starts with 5.45 ERA, and 1-5 day team starts this season. We recommend a 1* play on the Angels. Thank you and good luck as always.

My free play is on the Bal Orioles at 1:05 ET.

The Los Angeles Angels opened the season 13-3 but arrived in Baltimore on Friday mired in a six-game slide, part of a 4-13 run going back to June 10. However, the Orioles have proved to be "just what the doctor ordered," as the Angels erupted for five runs in the eighth inning of Saturday's 5-2 win, a victory which followed a 7-1 win on Friday night. LA will look to complete a three-game sweep in Sunday's series finale in Baltimore against an Orioles team which owns MLB's worst record (23-59) and worst moneyline mark (minus-$3419). Saturday's defeat was the Orioles' seventh in a row, giving them three losing streaks of at least seven games since May 26. Baltimore will take the field Sunday afternoon having lost 17 of its last 18 games at Camden Yards.

Deck McGuire (0-0, 6.08 ERA) will make his third appearance and first start for the Angels in place of left-hander John Lamb, who is facing Tommy John surgery and is lost for the season. McGuire pitched a scoreless inning versus Toronto in his Angels debut on June 24 but was then rocked by Boston for three solo HRs in four innings this past Tuesday. He has yielded five HRs and 10 runs (nine earned) in 13.1 innings this season overall (has also pitched for Toronto in 2018). Kevin Gausman (3-6, 4.20 ERA) is mired in an eight-start winless drought (he's 0-4 and the team 0-8). He is coming off a strong outing last time out against Seattle, going six innings while holding the Mariners to one run and five hits in a no-decision (Baltimore lost 3-2). Gausman takes the mound with 1-3 record with a 5.97 ERA in five career starts against the Angels.

Considering that the Orioles have lost Gausman's last eight starts AND that Saturday's loss makes Baltimore 0-15 against the American League West this season, I may be "spitting into the wind" by playing Baltimore in this contest. However, the Angels currently have seven starting pitchers on the disabled list and at 29, with just 12 career MLB appearances on his resume (only two starts), McGuire has shown nothing to indicate he can succeed at this level. A team can't "lose them all, right?" Play the Orioles.

Good luck...Larry

Rockies vs. Dodgers
Dodgers-1½ +102

The Colorado Rockies are on the verge of pulling off a three-game sweep at Dodger Stadium, but here they'll come up against LA right-hander Ross Stripling (6-2, 1.98 ERA) who's having an outstanding season. Stripling is 6-1 with a 1.86 ERA in 10 starts since joining the rotation and 1-1 with a 1.98 ERA in nine career games (two starts) against the Rockies.

Colorado righty Chad Bettis (5-1, 5.07 ERA) was knocked around for five runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings by the Dodgers less than a month ago. He had given up at least five runs in five straight outings prior to a quality start at San Francisco his last time out.

Dodgers are 10-2 in their last 12 during game 3 of a series and 6-2 in Stripling's last 8 starts. Rockies are 2-7 in their last 9 during game 3 of a series.

R&R TOTALS

R&R Totals FREE MLB Over-Under Sunday 7-1-18

UNDER 8 1/2 -115 San Francisco/Arizona
__________________

BRAD WILTON

On Friday night the Astros and the Rays played to a 3-2 Under.

On Saturday night the Astros and the Rays played to a 5-2 totals push on the line of 7.

Sunday?

You guessed it, this one is heading Under.

The Under in this series is now 6-1-1 the past 8 times the teams have met. Today we have Charlie Morton and Blake Snell set to put on a pitching display.

Morton sports an ERA of 1.42 over his last 3 starts, 2 of the 3 holding Low.

Snell's ERA is 2.37 for his last 3 starts, and 2 of those 3 have also held Low.

For the year, BOTH pitchers sport ERA's in the 2's, Morton at 2.54, and Snell at 2.31.

Have to side with the mound men today to keep the bat-men at bay.

'Stros-Rays Under the total.

3* HOUSTON-TAMPA BAY UNDER

JEFF BENTON

Your Sunday freebie is Under the total in Boston-New York.

Sunday night rubber game between A.L. East heavyweights Boston and New York, and after a rare Over for the Yankees last night, look for Luis Severino to keep the Boston bats quiet tonight.

Boston scored 11 runs last night, but are still 4-2-1 Under their last 7 games played.

New York was blanked by the stellar Chris Sale last night, as the Yankees are now 21-3 Under the total their last 24 games played this month.

David Price has been on a roll to close the month out, with the Under at 2-0-1 his last 3 starts, and for the season the Under is 9-6-1 this season when the lefty starts.

As for Severino, he has been dealing pretty much all year long, as his ERA is crisp and clean at 2.10 with the Under 11-5-1 in his 17 season starts.

These pitchers are no strangers to the batters, and it is my belief that they will simply overmatch the hitters in this Sunday night finale.

Red Sox-Yankees Under.

3* BOSTON-N.Y. YANKEES UNDER

BRANDON LEE
MLB | Jul 01, 2018
Brewers vs. Reds
10* FREE MLB PICK (Over 9)

I'll take my chances with the Reds/Brewers combining for at least 10 runs in Sunday's series finale. These two have combined for at least 10 runs in each of the first 3 games of the series and scoring conditions will be ideal in this one. Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park is one of the best hitter parks in the game and the ball should be flying out of the stadium today with the heat index approaching 100 degrees. Not only does the ball fly better, but the pitchers just run out of gas faster and tend to make a few more mistakes in the heat. Give me the OVER 9!

1* Free Pick on Indians/A's OVER

I like the value here with the OVER in Sunday's MLB action that has the A's hosting the Indians. Should be a good day for the hitters, as the wind will be blowing out to right at close to 15 mph. Cleveland is also due for an offensive explosion after scoring just 3 runs in their last 2 games and 2 or less in 4 of their last 5.

I like their chances of snapping out of their funk against the A's struggling Frankie Montas, who has a 7.20 ERA and 2.267 WHIP in his last 3 starts. Indians will counter with Mike Clevinger, who is coming off a sub-par outing at St Louis. Clevinger only gave up 2 runs, but only lasted 5 innings, walked 2 and struck out just 4 after racking up 21 strikeouts in his previous 2 starts.

OVER is 7-2 in the A's last 9 home games against a team with a winning record and 9-1-1 in the last 11 games where Angel Campos has been the home plate umpire. Take the OVER!

CHIP CHIRIMBES

Cleveland at Oakland

The Indians had won seven straight until starting their 10-game road trip in Oakland where the A's have taken the first two games of the series and now have won six games in a row themselves But, the Indians are ready to break out in Oakland today behind Mike Clevinger (6-3, 3.03 ERA) who is 3-2 with a 2.39 ERA in eight road starts this season. Take CLEVELAND!

Free Silver Key Pick for Sunday ML Baseball

TORONTO HAPP -L -185 over Detroit (1:05 et)
__________________

RICH GREEN

Free Top Consensus Pick For Sunday ML Baseball

San Francisco Holland -L +1.5 Runs, -175 over ARIZONA (4:10 et)
__________________

JACK BRAYMAN

Today, my free winner is on Toronto winning big, over a dejected Detroit squad.

Though pitchers are automatically listed when making Run Line wagers, I am insisting you DO NOT worry about who the scheduled starters are. In the event of a scratch, you MUST re-wager the game with the new pitcher(s) who are scheduled. This play will stand no matter who pitches for either team.

That's because the Tigers have lost 11 in a row and are now in third place in the lowly American League Central. They're now 9 1/2 games back of the Cleveland Indians and a horrible 13-27 on the highway this season.

The Tigers arrived in the 6 after losing 4-2 to the Oakland Athletics at Comerica Park on Thursday afternoon, while the Blue Jays took the day off. Well-rested, Toronto has proven to be much fresher than Detroit this weekend.

Last month the Jays hit .258, eighth-best in the league, while their 40 home runs ranked fifth in baseball in June.

None of this bodes well for the Tigers, who took two of three from the Jays in Motown back on June 1-3. No doubt Toronto is in revenge-mode, and undoubtedly will be looking for the three-game sweep against one of the worst pitching staffs in baseball.

Detroit's 4.79 ERA in June was the fourth-worst in baseball. Tigers pitchers also allowed the fifth-most home runs this month, having given up 40 in June.

Toronto wins in a rout.

1* BLUE JAYS RUN LINE
__________________

ERIC SCHROEDER

My free winner for tonight is on the Oakland Athletics against the Cleveland Indians, as we're getting a fantastic price with a team streaking out of the weekend.

While we are all aware the Indians are sitting atop the American League Central, we should also acknowledge it is the worst division in baseball. The Central has one team with a record better than .500 - Cleveland. But in the A.L. West, only one team has a record worse than .500, and that's the Texas Rangers.

Oakland, which has won six in a row, is now 22-20 at home and comes into this one with an extended win streak of 10-2 after last night's win over the Tribe. The Athletics are a dominating 16-4 against teams out of the Central, while the Indians are mired in an 8-14 slide against the feisty and competitive teams from the West.

And with an offense that ranked fourth last month with 144 runs scored, I think we're going to see the home team revved up this afternoon at the plate.

Take the small home underdog, and don't bother listing pitchers.

3* ATHLETICS

Play: Atlanta Braves +104

Mike Foltynewicz has now reached the point where he's even putting up decent results when he doesn't have his command. Absolutely one of the true breakout guys this season. John Gant is off a seven inning shutout effort for the Redbirds, but it was misleading as he issued five walks along the way. He benefitted from a ridiculous .059 BABIP in that game. Cant looks like a good bounce candidate here. Bullpens are roughly even, and actually so are the offenses, but the Atlanta attack is better right now. Braves will be a popular choice here and might well go off the chalk, but at even money I'm on the Atlanta side.
