Improved to 21-9 with free picks, and tonight I look to continue the run with the Philadelphia Phillies over the Washington Nationals. And I want you to list the scheduled starters for this game, as I like Aaron Nola over Tanner Roark.

Things are a little different from when these teams met last week, as the Nats were in second place and the Phils were in third place. Now, Philadelphia is sitting in second just 2 1/2 games back of first-place Atlanta, and the Braves aren't doing so well.

The best team in the National League East right now is Philadelphia, which is 25-15 at home and could very take over the division by the end of the weekend. Meanwhile, the Nationals have lost two straight and seven of 10.

That won't bode well against Nola, who looks more like ink on the National League All-Star roster, rather than pencil. He faces this Nats lineup for the second straight start after giving up a mere two runs in six innings last weekend in D.C. The Phillies ace right-hander boasts a 6-0 record with a 1.86 ERA in seven home starts this year.

This is a cheap price to lay against Roark, who is mired in a midseason slump that has seen him fail to pitch past the fifth inning in each of his past two starts. The right-hander has labored at least six innings in 12 of his first 13 starts, but he also has an 8.16 ERA in his last three trips to the rubber.

I'm playing the Phillies and tonight, and I'm listing both.

3* PHILLES (Nola and Roark)

I've given you the Boston Red Sox on the Run Line two of the last three nights as my premium selection. Last night I gave you them for free. Tonight, I'm riding the Red Sox.

The Angels, in from Anaheim, may have given a better fight had they not been the victim of a stop over on what should have been an off-day. Instead of getting Monday off, the Halos were in Kansas City.

After playing six games at home, where they split 3-3 after a two-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks and four-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Angels lost in Kansas City, 2-0. Both teams had to fly into Kansas City for the makeup game, as the Angels opened a road trip that has them in Boston before heading to Baltimore for the weekend.

And the Red Sox showed us they were waiting with open arms, ready to pounce the first two games. Tonight should be no different, as the Angels will be playing for the eight straight day, and 13th time in 14 days spanning four cities: Oakland, Anaheim, Kansas City and now Boston.

The Angels have lost five straight, and 12 of 16 since June 10 during their last road trip.

Boston, meanwhile, is 27-12 at home and is sitting one-half game in front of the New York Yankees in the American League East. The Red Sox are tied with the Houston Astros for the best batting average in baseball, at .266, while they run a close second to Houston in runs scored, 426-422.

Boston's offense is tops in the league with its number at home, as it's hitting .287 at Fenway Park this season. That won't bode well for the Angels, who are hitting just .238 this month, and have scored just 98 runs. Both numbers rank in the lower half of the league for the month of June.

Tough trip for the Angels, who have dropped nine of 10 on the road. Boston is in on a 14-5 run at home, and should take care of this one.

5* RED SOX
