Play - Miami Marlins w/Chen (Game 902).

Edges - Marlins: Chen 1.83 ERA with 1.07 WHIP home as opposed to 10.17 ERA with 2.02 WHIP away this season; and 8-2 last ten home team starts during July … Braves: Teheran 1-5 last six overall team starts during July. We recommend a 1* play on Miami. Thank you and good luck as always.

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #925 Tuesday Free Pick OVER the total in Cleveland Indians vs Pittsburgh Pirates @ 7:10 ET - A tough break for me in this match-up last night as I got a "no action" on a game that was likely to go over the total (O/U of 8.5) as it was 7-0 Pittsburgh through 6 innings when the game was called final due to rain. The fact is that the Pirates offense remains red hot as they've won 10 straight games and have averaged scoring 6.4 runs per game during this hot streak. The Bucs should have no problems with the offerings of the Indians Shane Bieber. The right-hander has a 5.21 ERA in his last 3 starts. The concern for the Pirates tonight, however, will be their own starting pitcher. Taking a look at Joe Musgrove's last 5 starts, he did have a strong one on the road but that was at San Diego which means he faced a sub-par Padres lineup in a pitcher-friendly park. In his other 4 starts since mid-June, Musgrove has compiled a 7.71 ERA. The over is 5-1 in Musgrove's last 6 starts. The over is 11-2-2 in Indians home games with a posted total of 9 or 9.5 runs this season. With this total dropping from a 9.5 to a 9 early this morning, there is additional value with the over here and I am recommending this as one you certainly want to take a look at for your Tuesday wagering! Free Pick OVER the total in Cleveland

MLB | White Sox vs Angels
Play on: Angels -177 at 5Dimes

My free play is on the LA Angels at 10:05 ET. The Chicago White Sox won 5-3 last night in the opener of this four-game series with the Angels in Anaheim. Chicago sits at 35-64), leaving them with a better record than only won the30-69 Royals and 28-73 Orioles. As for the Angels, the loss dropped them to 50-51, 10 1/2 games back of the second wild card in the American League. Despite owning MLB's best player (Mike Trout), the Angels, who opened 13-3, seemed destined to be a non-playoff team once again in 2018)..

Taking the mound on Tuesday for Chicago will be lefty Carlos Rodon (2-3, 3.56 ERA). This will be Rodon's first start since the break. His final start before the All-Star break was a great one as he allowed three hits over 7 1/3 scoreless innings while defeating the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0. Rodon has pitched well since returning from shoulder surgery , which kept off the field since early September of 2017. He made his 2018 debut on June 9 and he has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his seven outings for far this season. Rodon is 1-2 with a 4.11 ERA in three career starts against the Angels. Felix Pena (1-0, 3.42 ERA) gets the nod for LA and he will be making his sixth start of the season. He as yet to pitch longer than 5 1/3 innings but has struck out 32 against just nine walks in 26 1/3 innings. A troubling note is that Pena has a 4.76 ERA at Angel Stadium this season, compared to a 0.96 mark on the road.

However, Pena has filled a desperate need for the Angels this season. They've had 10 pitchers go the disabled list, including five that elected for Tommy John surgery. The bottom line is that the White Sox are just 2-5 in Rodon's seven starts in 2018 plus own a sad-sack 16-35 road record in which they are being outscored 5.78-to-3.96 RPG. Noting that Chicago's victory on Monday snapped a six-game slide at Angel Stadium plus was only its second win in its last 16 games in Anaheim, puts me on the Angels.

MLB | Braves vs Marlins
Play on: Marlins +117 at GTBets

1* Free Pick on Marlins +117

I like the value here with the Marlins as a home dog against the Braves in Tuesday's MLB action. Miami was embarrassed in the series opener 12-1 on Monday and should come out with a chip on their shoulder after that lackluster effort.

Atlanta has struggled in this spot of late. The Braves are just 2-8 in their last 10 during game 2 of a series, 1-4 in their last 5 after a win and 1-5 in their last 6 after scoring 5+ runs. Miami on the other hand is 8-2 in their last 10 after scoring 2 runs or less.

The Marlins will send out Wei-Yin Chen, who is just 2-7 with a 5.75 ERA in 15 starts. However, Chen has been a completely different pitcher at home, where he owns a 1.83 ERA and 1.068 WHIP in 7 starts. Miami has gone 12-5 in his last 17 home starts and 20-7 in his last 27 home starts vs a above-average team that's won between 54% and 62% of their games.

Atlanta will counter with Julio Teheran, who last started on July 15. Teheran has been hit or miss all season and has really struggled in day games, where he owns a 5.12 ERA and 1.226 WHIP in 8 starts.

There's also a great system in play in favor of the Marlins. Home underdogs who are being outscored by 1 or more runs/game are 40-23 (63.5%) over the last 5 seasons when facing a team that is starting a pitcher that is working on 7 or more days of rest. Take Miami!

MLB | Twins vs Blue Jays
Play on: Blue Jays -106 at betonline

10* FREE MLB PICK (Blue Jays -106)

I'll take my chances here with Toronto at home against the Twins. The Blue Jays fell 8-3 on Monday to Minnesota, but they were behind the 8-ball before the game ever started, as they had to essentially use their bullpen the entire way with reliever Luis Santos getting the start. Prior to that this team had swept the Orioles out of the break and I look for them to bounce back in a big way here. Toronto will send out Ryan Borucki, who was really good in his first 3 starts before getting hit hard at Boston. No reason to panic after a bad start against a potent Red Sox offense. Borucki has been lights out in two home starts, allowing just 3 runs with 13 strikeouts and just 2 walks in 14 innings of work. Minnesota's Jose Berrios is just 2-5 with a 4.18 ERA in 9 road starts and the Twins as a team are just 3-6 in those 9 outings. Give me the Blue Jays -106!

MLB | Diamondbacks vs Cubs
Play on: Cubs -165 at YouWager

This is a 1* Free Play on the Chicago Cubs.

Off yesterday’s 7-1 humbling defeat, the Cubs will be eager to return the favor on Tuesday night. The visitors go with Clay Buchholz (2-1, 2.56 ERA) who hasn’t pitched since June 25th. Buchholz returns from the DL after the All Star break with impressive numbers, but we still think he’ll have his hands full here with the revenge minded Cubbies as he tries to shake off the rust. The home side sends Kyle Hendricks (6-8, 3.99) to the hill and he most recently gave up three runs while striking out four over five innings in a no-decision to the Cardinals on Thursday. No beating around the bush, this has been Hendricks most difficult campaign of his career to this point, but the veteran has the track record and pedigree to return to form over the second half; note as well that he owns a very respectable 3.28 ERA at home this season. Additionally note that the Diamondbacks are just 15-27 (-14.4 units) against clubs with winning records this season. Consider laying the chalk in this one.

The long ball was a big part of last night's series opener, as the Dodgers and the Phillies were able to combine for 13 runs in an easy Over from the Bank.

Tonight expect a change of the guard, as the pitchers will dominate the hitters.

Here we have Kenta Maeda and Aaron Nola listed as your starters, and I simple do not think many balls will be leaving the yard. I also do not think there will be many runs crossing the plate.

Over his last 3 starts, Kenta Maeda has allowed just 4 runs to score in his 18-plus innings worked. All 3 of those starts have landed Under the total. In fact, each of Maeda's last 6 starts have held Under the total. The Under is on an 11-1-1 run his last 13 season starts!

Aaron Nola is right there with Maeda in pitching games that end up holding Under the posted price, as each of Nola's last 5 starts have ended up Under the posted total. At home, Nola sports a tiny 1.71 ERA with 6 of his 8 starts landing Under the posted total.

Last night the teams combined for 13 runs, tonight they will be lucky to top 5 combined runs.

Dodgers-Phillies Under.

5* L.A. DODGERS-PHILADELPHIA UNDER

Your Tuesday freebie is the Yankees-Rays Over the total.

It was a 7-6 final last night as the teams played their second in a row in this series Over the total.

The Yankees have been trending upwards - as in runs scored/allowed of late - as New York has played their last 3 Over the total, and are on a 7-1-2 Over run their last 10 games played.

The Rays have now played 6 of their last 7 games Over the total with last night's series opener toppling the posted price.

Masahiro Tanaka likes to give up the long ball, and sports a 4.67 ERA on the road with 6 of his 10 road starts landing Over the total.

The Rays go with Yonny Chirinos who gets the start for the injured Blake Snell. Chirinos who is back up from the minors allowed 11 runs in his last 12-plus innings pitched for Tampa before being sent down to Durham.

Have to look for the runs to add up at the Trop tonight.

Yankees-Rays Over the total.

4* N.Y. YANKEES-TAMPA BAY OVER
____________________

Eric Schroeder

For my free play tonight, let's play the New York Yankees over the Tampa Bay Rays, and list both scheduled starting pitchers, as I like Masahiro Tanaka to beat Yonny Chirinos.

After his start on Sunday was rained out, Tanaka gets the nod tonight. The right-hander has not recorded a decision in two starts since coming off the disabled list, so he'll be hungry for a win and will be at his best with plenty of time to prepare. In his last start, Tanaka allowed two runs on six hits through 6 1/3 innings of work at Cleveland.

Tanaka has been productive, for the most part, in 15 starts this season, despite a rather high 4.54 ERA. He is 7-2 for the Yankees, incuding a perfect 5-0 mark on the highway.

Meanwhile, the Rays will recall Chirinos from Triple-A Durham to make his first Major League appearance since April 28. He went on the disabled list with a right forearm strain on May 1, he is 0-2 with a 4.96 ERA in nine Minor League starts this season, and now he is thrust into the bigs to face the mighty pinstripes.

This one will be too much for Chirinos, who faces one of the toughest lineups in the American League.

Play the Yankees here, and be sure your pitchers of record are Tanaka and Chirinos.

3* YANKEES (Tanaka over Chirinos)

I'm on a 32-19 run with my comp plays.

My free winner is in Interleague play, as I like the Seattle Mariners over the San Francisco Giants on the late card.

Seattle is sitting in second place, five games back of the Houston Astros, and sporting a 33-18 record at home. The M's just knocked off the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, had yesterday off and now opens this series with a struggling Giants team that has lost two straight and is 20-31 on the road.

Though pitchers are automatically listed when making Run Line wagers, I am insisting you DO NOT worry about who the scheduled starters are. In the event of a scratch, you MUST re-wager the game with the new pitcher(s) who are scheduled. This play will stand no matter who pitches for either team.

That's because I couldn't care any less about the pitchers when Seattle's offense was clicking on Sunday. Ryon Healy stroked a pair of three-run home runs for a career-best six RBIs in the 8-2 win over the White Sox.

The M's are hitting .253 at home this season - 11th best in the league - while they're hitting .257 overall, eighth best in the bigs. That won't bode well for the Giants' staff, which has a 4.27 road ERA, and is 7-10 with a 4.09 ERA in the month of July.

Play Seattle, as it opens this Interleague series with a blowout win.

4* MARINERS RUN LINE
