I like the value here with St Louis as a decently priced road dog against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. The Cardinals won the series opener 6-3 on Monday and in the process handed Arizona it's fourth straight loss. It has the feel of another one of those stretches where the Diamondbacks can't get their offense going. Arizona has scored 4 or fewer runs in 5 of their last 6.

The reason the Diamondbacks are such a big favorite in this one is they will send out Zack Greinke, who is 3-1 with a 2.40 ERA in 8 home starts. The thing is, St Louis will have just as strong a starter on the mound in Jack Flaherty, who owns a 2.20 ERA and 1.046 WHIP in 5 road starts. In Flaherty's last road start at Milwaukee, the only hit and run he allowed in 7 innings came on a solo home run and he struck out 13.

After Monday's loss, Arizona is now 7-20 in their last 27 games vs a team with a winning record and just 1-10 in their last 11 home games vs a team with a winning record. Take St Louis!

MLB | Padres vs A's
Play on: A's -134 at 5Dimes

Jack’s Free Pick Tuesday: Oakland A’s -134

The Oakland A’s have put themselves back in the playoff picture by going 12-3 in their last 15 games overall to improve to 46-39 on the season. Now they host the Padres for this brief interleague series and need to take care of business.

The A’s have the clear advantage on the mound tonight behind Chris Bassitt. The right-hander has gone 1-3 with a 2.82 ERA and 1.164 WHIP in four starts this season. He has posted a 2.45 ERA and 1.091 WHIP in his two home starts.

Clayton Richard is 7-7 with a 4.29 ERA and 1.234 WHIP in 17 starts for the Padres this season. The left-hander has gone 5-4 with a 4.73 ERA and 1.294 WHIP in nine road starts.

The Padres are 3-11 in their last 14 games overall. San Diego is 0-4 in Richard’s last four interleague starts. The A’s are 35-16 in their last 51 vs. a team with a losing record. Oakland is 9-2 in its last 11 home games vs. a team with a losing record. The A’s are 5-1 in the last six meetings. Bet the A’s Tuesday.

Take the under in the Tuesday WNBA game between Los Angeles and Connecticut. LA plays solid defense and is one of the few teams with more unders than overs. The Sun upset the Sparks earlier so I expect the home team to be focused under coach Brian Agler.

MLB | Tigers vs Cubs
Play on: Cubs -1½ +103 at 5Dimes

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach MLB Game #914 Tuesday DAY Free Pick Chicago Cubs Run Line -1.5 runs +105 vs Detroit Tigers @ 2:20 ET - The Tigers are off of back to back wins which is certainly RARE for them. Prior to these two consecutive victories, Detroit had lost 11 straight game! The Tigers are just 1-7 in inter-league action this season and also an ugly 2-11 when they are a road dog in a money line range of +175 to +250. As you can see from the above, a loss Tuesday afternoon is quite likely for Detroit. That said, the Cubs are a likely winner here but of course there is significant risk in playing any 2 to 1 favorite in a money line sport because, as we all know, surprising upsets to happen from time to time. Enter into the equation the run line here and you have yourself a great value play. By taking the Cubs at -1.5 runs on the run line you don't even have to lay any juice and note that 19 of the Detroit's last 22 losses have come by 2 or more runs! As for Chicago's victories, 25 of the Cubs last 29 wins have come by 2 or more runs. DAY Free Pick Chicago Cubs Run Line -1.5 runs +105

MLB | Orioles vs Phillies
Play on: Phillies -146

My free play is on the Phi Phillies at 7:05 ET. The 45-37 Phillies had an off-day Monday after taking three of four against the Washington Nationals, including winning Sunday in 13 innings with a walk-off HR. Philadelphia has stayed near the top of the National League East standings (currently in 2nd-place, 3 1/2 games back of the Braves) halfway through the season thanks in large part to their strong play at Citizens Bank Park where the Phillies are 28-16. The Phillies have won 10 of their last 15 and are 3 1/2 games up on the 3rd-place Washington Nationals in the NL East less than two weeks before the All-Star break. Tonight, the Phillies host the opener of an abbreviated two-game interleague series against the visiting Baltimore Orioles, who own MLB's worst record (24-59), as well as its worst moneyline mark (minus-$3319). Baltimore was also off on Monday, after snapping a seven-game skid Sunday with an 8-2 romp over the Los Angeles Angels.

Alex Cobb (2-9, 6.75 ERA) takes the mound for Baltimore, after extending his winless stretch to four starts last Wednesday by allowing five runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings of a no-decision versus Seattle (Mariners won 8-7). During Cobb's last four outings, he has permitted 20 runs on 30 hits in 22 1/3 innings (8.06 ERA). This marks his first appearance against the Phillies in his seven-year major league career. Zach Eflin (6-2, 3.02 ERA) takes the mound coming off an outstanding June in which he posted a 5-0 mark with a 1.76 ERA nd 0.98 WHIP, highlighted by his seven scoreless innings against the New York Yankees during Wednesday's 3-0 victory June was a dramatic turnaround by a pitcher who posted a bloated 5.85 ERA in 22 starts over his first two seasons. "Being able to be healthy and to focus on pitching alone is probably the biggest thing," Eflin told reporters.

Cobb has been a huge disappointment for Baltimore (signed as a FA from Tampa Bay last spring), as the Orioles are 3-11 in his14 starts in 2018, giving him MLB's 8th-worst moneyline record at minus-$785. Philadelphia begins a stretch of 20 of its next 23 games against teams with a losing record and while I'm not getting ahead of myself, I will surely take them here against the pathetic Orioles with the equally pathetic Cobb on the mound.

Good luck...Larry

Game 919.

5:15 pm pst.

In a contest between the best and the worst of the AL Central, the 46-37 Indians take on the 25-59 Royals, a team they've beaten 5 of 7 meetings this season, including 3 straight. Cleveland is a Top-5 team in every major offensive category, while Kansas City, the worst overall team in baseball (25-59), ranks dead-last in both scoring (3.46 RPG) and Team ERA (5.19). RH, Shane Bieber is 3-0 with a 2.22 ERA, as the team has won all 4 of his turns. Danny Duffy is 4-7 with a 4.94 mark on the campaign, including an 0-3, 6.32 record at home. The LH owns career numbers of 2-8, with a 5.06 ERA vs. Cleveland, losing both starts this year. Kansas City is 0-7 in Duffy's L7 starts vs. Cleveland, 11-40 the L51 vs. RH starters, and 1-7 the L8 during Game 2 of a series. Cleveland is 36-17 the L53 vs. Kansas City, 41-18 the L59 vs. LH starters, and 47-16 the L63 vs. the AL Central. Take the Indians on the RUN LINE. Thank you.

MLB | Twins vs Brewers
Play on: Twins +130

I see good value on backing the underdog Twins in this day matchup. Minnesota has scored 30 runs in its last four games and Jake Ordorizzi doesn't take a backseat to Junior Guerra in the pitching matchup. The Brewers are likely to still be missing one of their best players, outfielder Christian Yelich. Odorizzi began the season in good fashion. Then hit a road bump at the end of May, but receoverd in his last start this past Thursday. He blanked the White Sox for six innings giving up just three hits with three walks and eight strikeouts. Odorizzi has a 1.42 ERA in two career starts versus Milwaukee. This includes a start on May 20 when he struck out a season-high 10 batters while allowing only one run in 5 2/3 innings. Guerra is not in good form with a 4.41 ERA in his last three starts. The Brewers are giving up an average of six runs a game during their last six games.

Play on: OVER 2 +105
Colombia vs England Free Pick July 3, 2018.
As I write this (Jul 2, 2018), we are halfway through the Round of 16 and we haven't yet seen any of the eight teams post a clean sheet in the first four matches of the knockout round. England has posted a clean sheet just once in it's last six matches, conceding goals to minnows Tunisia and Panama in the Group Stages. Colombia on the other hand has posted clean sheets in four of their last five matches, but England appears far more dangerous than the likes of (Senegal, Australia, Egypt or Poland), whom they played in those matches. Harry Kane comes in leading the tournament in scoring, and he should prove to be a handful for the Colombian defenders. Both these teams play an attacking style, and I expect to see both teams score at least once in this Round of 16 match.
Take Over 2,
GL,

MLB | Tigers vs Cubs
Play on: Cubs -1½ +103 at 5Dimes

10* FREE MLB PICK (Cubs -1.5, +103)

I'll take my chances here with the Cubs winning by at least 2 runs in Tuesday's series opener against the Tigers. Chicago comes in having won 4 straight and have been absolutely on fire at the plate over the last week. The Cubs scored 35 runs on 46 hits in their 3-game sweep of the Twins over the weekend and are hitting a ridiculous .359 as a team over their last 7 games. If they hit anywhere close to like they have in this one, they should have no problem covering the -1.5 run line. I also think this is a big bounce back spot for Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks, who was rocked in his last outing at LAD. Hendricks has simply been a different pitcher at home this season. He's got a 4.21 ERA in 16 starts overall and a 2.96 ERA and 0.910 WHIP in 8 home starts. Give me the Cubs -1.5!

DMack's Free Play for Tuesday, July 3, 2018 is on the Astros/Rangers Under

Dallas Keuchel is not having much of a year but has been decent. His problem has been slow starts but if he gets out fast here and finds a rhythm, he can be tough to hit. The Astros are on a run of four straight unders and are battling injuries while hitting just .225 over their L9. Biebens-Dirkx has been lights out his last two (0.93). Just too many runs here .... play the under.

MLB | Padres vs A's
Play on: Padres +135 at YouWager

1* Free Sharp Play on Padres +135

My money is on the Padres to go into Oakland and take the series opener against the A's on Tuesday. San Diego has been in a bit of a free fall of late, but are in a great spot to get this thing going in the right direction. The Padres will send out Clayton Richard for the start in this one and he's been throwing it well of late, as he comes in with a solid 3.79 ERA and 1.158 WHIP over his last 3 starts. He'll be facing an A's lineup that has had their struggles of late, as Oakland has scored 4 or fewer in 4 of their last 5. The A's are also in a tough spot having to try to rebound from a loss following a 6-game winning streak. Bet the Padres +135!

Your Tuesday freebie is the Rockies over the Giants.

Colorado was able to come back from 2-0 down last night to claim the 5-2 victory, and the bottom line is this...the Giants simply do not win very often away from home.

San Francisco is just 19-27 on the road this season, and with last night's loss, they are only 8-21 the last 29 games played at Coors Field.

Chris Stratton gave up 5 runs on 8 hits in his 4 innings worked his last start - which happened to come against Colorado - but he escaped with a no-decision. I don't see him being as lucky in the thin air tonight.

Antonio Senzatela makes his first start of the season for the Rockies, and he does own a 3-0 mark against the Giants from a season ago when he was a rookie.

Back the Rockies.

My free play is in the American League West tonight, as I like the big underdog price with the Texas Rangers against the Houston Astros, and I'm not going to bother listing pitchers.

Despite knowing the Astros are sending struggling left-hander Dallas Keuchel to the mound, I'm more intrigued by the fact the overall momentum is in Texas' favor, and the Astros are the team struggling at this time.

Houston arrives in Arlington after dropping three straight in Tampa last weekend, while losing its first series since late May, when it lost at Yankee Stadium.

On the flipside, the Rangers come into this series scorching, having won 12 of 18 since the Astros swept Texas in a four-game set in Arlington early last month. Texas has won five straight series, but come into this one pissed after losing 10-5 on Sunday, to the Chicago White Sox.

Let's take a shot with the Rangers tonight.

Now on a 25-10 run with free picks, after hitting the Colorado Rockies over the San Francisco Giantsn on Monday. Tonight, I like the Angels in Seattle, and I want you listing Andrew Heaney over Wade LeBlanc.

This is a rematch from a meeting in mid-June, when the Mariners beat the Halos and Heaney on June 11. The Angels' lefty lasted only three innings after getting hammered for five runs on seven hits and a walk. He'll be out for revenge and looking to start July better than he was in June.

After a stellar May that saw Heaney produce a 2.41 ERA, he was 2-1 in June with a 4.45 ERA. He is now 4-5 with a 3.95 ERA overall this season, and he's much better than that.

Meanwhile, LeBlanc is also looking to get back on track after giving up 10 runs - nine of them earned - and 18 hits in 10.1 innings over his last two starts. The 33-year-old threw five innings of two-run ball in a 5-3 win over the Angels on June 11, but I don't see that happening again.

Take the Angels here.

3* ANGELS (Heaney over LeBlanc)

Tuesday's comp play winner is Oakland as the home favorite over San Diego.

The A's have claimed both meetings this season over the Padres, and they have also won 7 of the last 9 series meetings between the teams that date back to the 2012 season, so a win tonight against the Friars would not be a shock.

San Diego is on a 3-11 slide their last 14 contests, while Oakland has been enjoying their best baseball of the year with wins in 6 of their last 7 games, and wins in 12 of their last 15 overall.

Clayton Richard will face Chris Bassitt, and while Bassitt's sample-size is just over 22 innings this season, his ERA is a slender 2.82.

Oakland continues to cook as they win their 13th over their last 16, as they hand San Diego their 12th loss in their last 15 games.

Play the A's.

4* OAKLAND
