Expect a pitcher’s duel today between the Kansas City Royals and Milwaukee Brewers. The Royals are scoring just 3.6 runs per game this season and 3.7 per game against left-handed starters. The Brewers are scoring 4.3 runs per game and 4.2 per game against southpaws.
Lefty Brent Suter gets the ball for the Brewers. He is having a solid season overall at 7-4 with a 4.28 ERA and 1.163 WHIP in 13 starts, including 3-0 with a 2.84 ERA and 0.789 WHIP in his last three. He should shut down the light-hitting Royals, who have scored 3 runs or less in eight straight games coming in.
The Brewers aren’t exactly hitting the cover off the ball, either. They have scored 3 runs or less in five of their last seven. Danny Duffy comes in pitching well for the Royals, going 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA and 1.158 WHIP in his last three starts despite facing the Astros twice.

The Padres have gone 9-7 in Clayton Richard’s 16 starts this season despite the fact that he’s been an underdog in nearly all of them. He is 7-6 with a 4.23 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in those 16 starts, including 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA and 0.84 WHIP in his last three. Richard gave up just one run in 7 innings in his last start against the Rangers, which came on the road in 2017. Wow that was embarrassing and ugly yesterday for the Detroit Tigers as they jumped out to an early 6-0 lead vs Oakland before falling asleep at the proverbial wheel and running out of gas in a 9-7 loss. Pros don't like to be embarrassed and now I'm betting on the Tigers regrouping and getting some redemption today with a win.
Fiers the Tigers starter today has pitched his best ball at home this season, as is evident by allowing just four runs in his last three starts at Comerica Park, where he is 3-1 with a 3.51 ERA this season.

I like the value here with Baltimore at basically a pick'em at home against the Mariners on Wednesday. Seattle will send out Wade LeBlanc, who is 3-0 with a 2.90 ERA and 1.158 WHIP in 10 starts, but almost all of his success has come at home. LeBlanc has a 4.58 ERA and 1.474 WHIP in 4 road starts. The Mariners are 6-0 in his 6 home starts and a mere 1-3 in his 4 road outings.
As for Baltimore, they will turn to the surging Alex Cobb, who has completed 7 innings in each of his last two starts. The most recent was at Atlanta, where he allowed just 1 run on 4 hits. I look for Cobb to stay hot here and for the Orioles offense to provide more than enough run support to bring home the win. Take Baltimore!

The three-game series continues tonight with Boston a perfect 4-0 against the LA Angels this season, having outscored (36-4) and out-hit (57-19) the Angels by significant margins. 53-27 Boston has won four of its last five to remain hot on the heels of the 52-25 New York Yankees heading into their upcoming weekend series. Meanwhile, Los Angeles has lost four in a row and 11 of 15 to drop to two games over .500 at 41-39, after a 13-3 start to the 2018 season. Two-time AL Most Valuable Player Mike Trout is 20-for-44 in his last 13 contests but the Angels have fallen 11 1/2 games behind the AL West-leading Houston Astros.
Andrew Heaney (4-5, 3.43 ERA) will take the mound for the LA Angels at Fenway and he is desperately looking for his success at home to extend itself to the road. Heaney improved to 4-1 with an 0.88 ERA in his last six starts at Angel Stadium on Friday, after allowing one run in seven innings of a 2-1 triumph versus Toronto. However, in stark contrast, Heaney owns an 0-3 mark with a 5.13 ERA in six road starts this season (Angels are 1-5). Heaney fared well in his lone career appearance against Boston, allowing just two runs on five hits in seven innings of a 7-3 victory back on July 20, 2015.
Rick Porcello (9-3, 3.44 ERA) takes the mound for Boston and the 2016 AL Cy Young winner has put a poor 2017 season behind him so far in 2018. Porcello was outstanding in his last trip to the mound, permitting just one hit and three men to reach base over seven scoreless innings of a 9-2 victory at Minnesota last Thursday. The 2016 AL Cy Young Award winner (22-4, 3.15 ERA) fell to 11-17 (4.65 ERA / 16-17, minus-$702 in all starts) last season but is back on track here in 2018 (team is 10-6, plus-$279 in all of his starts). However, he is just 7-7 with 5.51 ERA in 17 career starts against the Angels
That said, he had a superb effort in his last encounter against the Angels, scattering six hits and striking out as many over six innings in a 9-0 rout back on April 18. As noted above, Boston has dominated Los Angeles in 2018 plus the Angels limp into this contest the losers of 11 of their last 15. With Heaney's awful road numbers (Angels are 1-5 with Heaney owning a 5.13 ERA), no way I'm going against Porcello and the Red Sox in this one.

Everyone is all over the Astros as usual today and but you couldn't tell it by the line as the plus money is sinking by the minute but instead of taking the Jays straight I think the best value is grabbing them on the run line as you can get it at little to no juice a super deal on a game that should be razor close today. Toronto is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games on the road. Toronto will be looking to avenge last nights bad 7-0 loss.
