MLB | Marlins vs Braves
Play on: Marlins +163 at YouWager

1* Free Pick on Miami Marlins +163

The Marlins are worth a look here as a big road underdog in Wednesday's series finale against the Braves. Miami will be motivated to avoid getting swept by their division rivals and I like their chances of leaving town with a win. The Marlins will send out Pablo Lopez, who I think is much better than 5.34 ERA and 1.325 WHIP he's posted in his 5 starts. Lopez showed what he's capable of a couple starts back, limiting the Rays to just 1 run on 3 hits in 6 innings.

Atlanta will counter with Anibal Sanchez, who is 5-3 with a 3.00 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 14 appearances (13 starts). While those are some solid numbers for Sanchez, Miami has really stepped up their game of late when facing a quality starter. The Marlins are 7-3 in their last 10 vs a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.

It's also worth noting that Sanchez last started on 7/26, giving him 5 days between starts, which hasn't worked out well for the Braves. Atlanta is just 1-4 in Sanchez's last 5 starts when he's throwing on 5 days of rest. Take Miami!

MLB | Royals vs White Sox
Play on: White Sox -122 at BetPhoenix

My free play is on the Chi White Sox 8:10 ET. Kansas City won 4-2 last night in Chicago over the White Sox. Ryan O'Hearn and Brett Phillips each hit two-run HRs (the first of the season for both players), with O'Hearn's shot becoming first big league hit! The Royals won for just the second time in six games, while handing the White Sox their fifth loss in six contests. Kansas City is just 33-73 and will go for back-to-back wins for only the third time since the start of June when the Royals square off against the 37-69 White Sox on Wednesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago for the middle contest of this three-game series. The White Sox are 7-4 against the Royals this season, despite Tuesday's setback

Jakob Junis (5-11, 5.06 ERA) will take the mound for KC and he has lost eight straight decisions and is winless in 10 outings since defeating the New York Yankees back on May 18. Junis lost to the Yankees in his most recent outing, giving up seven runs (three earned) on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings of a 7-2 Yankee win. He was roughed up in his lone career start against the White Sox as he surrendered six runs on six hits while serving up five HRs over 5 2/3 innings of a 6-3 loss back on April 26.

Dylan Covey (4-6, 5.40 ERA) has had no more luck than Junis as of late, going 1-5 with an 8.73 ERA over his last seven starts (team is 1-6). He just lost 12-8 to the LA Angels in his last outing, allowing six runs on nine hits over 4 2/3 innings. Covey is 0-4 with a 6.04 ERA in five career starts against the Royals, including a 5-2 loss on April 28 in which he allowed four runs and seven hits over six innings.

These are two of MLB's worst teams and both of tonight's starting pitchers are struggling. The White Sox did not sell off key players before Tuesday's trade deadline and as for KC, the Royals will devote much of their focus to younger players in the final two months of the season. I'll make a small play tonight on the home team.

Good luck...Larry

MLB | HOU vs SEA
Play on: UNDER 8 -105

10* FREE MLB PICK (Under 8)

We have cashed the UNDER in each of the first two games of this AL West series between the Astros and Mariners and I'll gladly go back to the well and take the UNDER in the series finale tonight. Houston's pitching has held Seattle to just 2 runs in each of the first two games and the Mariners figure to have a hard time breaking out of that slump against Astros starter Dallas Keuchel. In his last 3 starts, Keuchel has posted a 1.93 ERA and 0.964 WHIP. Houston continues to play without two of their best hitters in Altuve and Correa and figure to continue to struggle at the plate with Wade LeBlanc on the mound for Seattle. LeBlanc is 6-0 with a 2.19 ERA and 0.863 WHIP in 9 home starts. Give me the UNDER 8!

Play on: UNDER 8 -115

DMack's Free Play for Wednesday, August 1, 2018 is on the Brewers/Dodgers Under

Chase Anderson has kept the Brewers in games all year and rocks a 2-1 (2.17) badge over his l7 starts. In his 19 starts, the Under is 14-5, 7-2 on the road. Rich Hill is razor sharp for the Bums, 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA in his last couple. The Dodgers have played five straight unders with the series 7-2 under L9, 2-0 low at Chavez Ravine. Play the Under.

MLB | Rockies vs Cardinals
Play on: Cardinals -125 at Bovada

1* Free Sharp Play on Cardinals -125

My money is on St. Louis to cash in a win at home against the Rockies in Wednesday's MLB action. The Cardinals fell 6-3 to Colorado on Tuesday, but have rebounded from defeat quite well of late, as they are 6-1 in their last 7 following a loss. St Louis will turn to Luke Weaver to get them back on track. Weaver has had a disappointing 2018 season, but is coming off a strong start at home against the Cubs, holding Chicago to just 2 runs in 6 innings of a 5-2 win. He seems to pitch better against the better teams as the Cardinals have won 5 of his last 7 starts vs a team with a winning record. Colorado will send out lefty Kyle Freeland and St Louis is 5-1 in their last 6 vs a left-handed starter. Bet the Cardinals -125!

Wednesday comp play is the Braves to take care of the Marlins on the Run Line.

Atlanta has claimed the win in their first two games this week, winning by 2 runs on Monday night, and 5 runs last night.

The Braves have had their way with the Marlins this season, as Atlanta has now won 7 of the last 9 series meetings this season, and 5 of those 7 victories have come by 2 runs or better.

The Marlins have dropped 6 of their last 9 games on the season, and starter Pablo Lopez has been getting hit when he takes the mound, as evidenced by his over 5 season ERA.

Philadelphia is idle tonight, so a win by Atlanta would push them back into a ties atop the N.L. East Division standings.

I say go with the Braves -1 1/2 runs tonight.

4* ATLANTA -1 1/2 RUNS

Your Wednesday freebie will be to go with the Reds and Tigers to land Over the total after playing a 2-1 Under last night.

Cincy is still 8-1 Over the total their last 9 road games, and starter Sal Romano does own a season ERA that stands at 5.04. Each of Romano's last 3 starts have landed Over the total, and for the year the Over is 12-6-2 in his 20 season starts.

Detroit has played 3 of their last 5 games Over the total, and Mike Fiers last start against Cleveland did indeed land Over the total.

This short interleague series concludes today, and I fully expect there to be a few runs on the scoreboard before the Reds leave Motown.

Reds-Tigers Over.

1* CINCINNATI-DETROIT OVER
