Play - Minnesota Twins w/Berrios (Game 914).
Edges - Twins: Berrios 8-1 L9 home teams starts, and 3-1 career team starts in this series, including 2-0 at home. With the White Sox 1-5 their L6 games in this park, we recommend a 1* play win Minnesota. Thank you and good luck as always.

NHL | Blue Jackets vs Capitals
Play on: Capitals -134 at pinnacle
My 1* Free Play is on the Washington Capitals (7:30 EST).
If recent history is any precedence, then Washington has to be liking its chances tonight in Game 1 of this Eastern Conference Opening Round series. And that’s because the Capitals would take three of four from the Blue Jackets in the regular season series.
Columbus sends Sergei Bobrovsky to the net and he’s 37-28 with a 2.42 GAA, while the home side counters with Philipp Grubauer, who was 15-13 with a 2.35 GAA.
The Blue Jackets’ achilles heel this year was clearly their play on the road, going just 19-22 away from friendly confines, averaging 3.00 goals and conceding 3.15 in those contests.
The Capitals won the Metro Division for a third straight year. Note that Washington is 28-13 at home, averaging 3.32 goals and conceding 2.51 in those games.
I’ll point out as well that Columbus is a horrible 35-91 in its last 126 road games against teams with a home winning percentage of greater than .600, while Washington is 74-30 in its last 104 home games against teams with a losing road record.
Columbus is a solid team, but it’s struggled on the road. That doesn’t bode well facing this hungry and motivated Capitals side which has failed to meet expectations in the playoffs in years past.
In my opinion, the home team is definitely worth a second look in this particular matchup.
Good luck…Larry

NHL | Maple Leafs vs Bruins
Play on: Maple Leafs +145 at 5Dimes
Just 1-3-1 in their last five games and dealing with injuries, the Bruins are vulnerable to the young, aggressive Maple Leafs.
Toronto is a rising power. The Maple Leafs made the playoffs last season for just the second time in 12 years. They pushed the top-seeded Capitals to six games. Now their young talent has another year of experience and is playoff-tested ready to take the next step. It very well could come against the Bruins. The Maple Leafs won't lack confidence. They have defeated the Bruins in seven of the last eight meetings, including three of four times this season. Toronto is 4-1 in its last five visits to Boston. Toronto has a strong track record, too, on extra rest going 8-2 the past 10 times when playing with at least three days rest. Auston Matthews is an emerging superstar. The Maple Leafs go three lines deep while Boston's third line takes a hit with center Riley Nash out. Fredrick Andersen's name doesn't come up when mentioning elite goalies in the league. But Andersen has been the nuts against the Bruins going 10-1 with a 2.09 goals against average and .935 save percentage. He allowed 2.6 goals per game in three matchups against Boston this season. The Maple Leafs have a lot going especially at this plus price range. (Editor's note: Stephen Nover has turned a profit three straight years in the NHL and has two Stanley Cup totals plays going today in addition to this free selection. Don't miss any of Stephen's hockey winners!)

NHL | Devils vs Lightning
Play on: OVER 5½ -124
Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NHL Game #9 Free Pick OVER the total in Tampa Bay Lightning vs New Jersey Devils @ 7:05 ET - This total opened up at a 6 and dropped to a 5.5 which is giving us some additional value with the over. The Lightning are a very explosive team with their forwards. However, they also are weak on the penalty kill. Tampa Bay goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy has only 7 career playoff starts and Devils goalie Keith Kincaid will be making his playoff debut. The Devils are 8-3 to the over their last 11 games and some of the changes New Jersey made as the season went on were in hopes of increasing speed and creating more goal-scoring. The Devils have averaged scoring 3.5 goals per game in winning 11 of their last 16 games. The Bolts averaged 3.6 goals per game for the season and they wrapped up the regular season scoring 3 or more goals in 26 of their last 35 games. This is playoff hockey but we all saw the Penguins score 7 goals yesterday and the only reason the Jets game didn't go over the total is because Winnipeg inexplicably missed an empty net about a half dozen times over the final two minutes! Some of these early post-season games are going to be quite high-scoring. Things tighten up as the post-season goes on. This looks like an early barn-burner in my opinion. Free Pick OVER the total in Tampa Bay

MLB | STL vs CIN
Play on: OVER 9 -105
10* FREE MLB PICK (OVER 9)
I'll take my chances here with these two NL Central rivals combining for at least 10 runs in Thursday's series opener. While neither team has been great offensively in the early going, I believe the cards are lined up just right for a high-scoring game.
It's no secret that Great American Park is one of the more hitter-friendly parks in the big leagues. The ball should be flying out of the stadium today, as the temps are expected to be in the mid 70's with winds blowing out to left field at close to 15 mph.
I also think today's starters will aid in this going over the total. St Louis will send out Michael Wacha, who just isn't the same guy on the road. Wacha had close to a 5.00 ERA in 14 road starts last year and a 3.41 ERA in 16 home starts. He was awful in his lone start on the road in 2018, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits with just 1 strikeout in 5 innings at Pittsburgh. Cincinnati sends out Sal Ramona, who has a 5.73 ERA and 1.455 WHIP in his 2 starts this season and that's about what we can expect from the 24-year-old right now. Give me the OVER 9!

Mack Attack Free Play for Thursday, April 12, 2018, is on the Yankees/BoSox Under
The first two games of this series were slugfests that produced 32 runs on 43 hits against some pitchers that were red hot coming in. In tonight's rubber match, think some order will be restored by Sonny Gray and Rick Porcello. Gray, 1-0 with a 3.60, has been good but is a strikeout pitcher but can't afford to walk people. It hasn't hurt him on the mound but his high pitch counts keep him from going deep into games. Porcello, 2-0 with a 2.84 ERA seems to have found his 2016 form and was very good in his last two games with the Bombers last year.

MLB | Cardinals vs Reds
Play on: Cardinals -137 at 5Dimes
#MLB FREE PICK FROM MIKE LUNDIN
The St. Louis Cardinals will visit the Cincinnati Reds for the opener of a four-game series Thursday night. I think this looks like a good price on the visitors as they hand the ball to Michael Wacha (1-1, 5.59 ERA). The right-hander was 2-0 behind a 1.50 ERA in two starts versus Cincinnati last year and he has a 2.85 ERA to go along with an 8-1 record in 16 career appearances against the Reds.
Cincinnati turns to Sal Romano (0-1, 5.73 ERA) who is 5-9 with a 4.59 ERA in 18 career starts, but has never faced the Cardinals.. Romano gave up four runs on seven hits in five innings at Pittsburgh his last time out and has recorded just three strikeouts in 11 innings on the season.
The Reds are just 2-9 on the season and the Cards have won each of the last five matchups at Great American Ball Park.
Free pick on St. Louis Cardinals.
