My free play for Saturday is on the Pittsburgh Pirates over the St. Louis Cardinals. Do not list pitchers, as we're playing this one on pure momentum.
Seeing how the Cardinals blew last night's game, I don't know if they come back with the right mentality for this one. Instead, I think the Bucs return to PNC with momentum after Starling Marte's game-ending single in the 11th inning lifted the Pirates to a 6-5 win.
The Cardinals led 5-0 after five innings, leaving many in attendance when the Penguins next play. But the Pirates pulled out their third straight victory.
Again, I'm not listing pitchers, but I will tell you that facing St. Louis right-hander Jack Flaherty does not bother me much. One of the top prospects in the Cardinals' organization, I don't see him lasting long against this lineup.
Pittsburgh ranks seventh in the league with a .257 batting average, while the Bucs have the second-best home batting average (.279) in the bigs.
Take Pittsburgh today, as it rolls to the easy win.

Many ways to look at this series-opener between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins, but I'm taking the home teamin Game 1.
While I know Tampa Bay hasn't played in a week, I also know Boston is coming off a hard-fought, seven-game playoff series. A seven-game series that was filled with emotion and certainly took a toll on the Bruins.
I'm not saying they won't be able to hang over the long haul, but after wrapping up their series against Toronto, the Bruins packed up and headed to Tampa for this game. Not a good turnaround.
Don't worry about the layoff, we saw the Vegas Golden Knights do okay after nine days off. And Tampa Bay is similar to VGK - fast, aggressive and good goaltending.
Boston won three of four meetings between the teams the regular season, but that doesn't mean much. New Jersey won all of its meetings with Tampa during the regular season, but the Lightning took care of the Devils in the opening round.
I'll count on Nikita Kucherov, who had 10 points (five goals, five assists) in the first round, and netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy, a Vezina Trophy finalist.
Vasilevskiy was 44-17-3 record in 65 games/64 starts with a team-record eight shutouts, a 2.62 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage during the regular season. He has a quick glove, he moves well between the pipes, and he certainly will want the edge on Boston with a win in Game 1.
Take Tampa Bay tonight in the series opener.
