Not the best time for the Baltimore Orioles to be on the West coast. They were just swept in Anaheim, losing to the Angels in three games by a collective final of 25-12, allowing 22 runs in the last two games.
Now the O's will play their fifth straight road game in as many days at 10:05 pm eastern time, in front of a rowdy Oakland crowd that is feeling the enthusiasm from the Warriors in the NBA. Oaktown is loaded with emotion right now, and the Athletics will feed off that after last night's 6-4 win.
The Orioles are off to one of their worst starts in recent memory, with an 8-24 record, and have lost 16 of their last 19 games.
Meanwhile, the A's won 4 of 9 during a three-city tour and are now home for six against these Orioles and the defending World Series champion Houston Astros. They took the opener, and will make it two in a row tonight.
I'll take the A's in this one, as the roll to the easy win.

They are just humming right now. I am speaking of the Cleveland Cavaliers who come home having taken not one in Toronto, but two in as many tries to take the big 2-0 lead as they play host to Saturday's third game in what looks to be a short series.
The Cavs have netted 113, and 128 points thus far, and both games played have landed Over. The Raptors have also been over the 100 point mark, as they tallied 112 in the Game One overtime loss, and got to 110 in the Game Two loss. No doubt in my mind these teams both crack the century mark easily in this one tonight as I see another Over on the horizon.
Series numbers show 5 of the last 6 played between the teams having played High, and 7 of the last 9 overall have also landed Over the total when the teams met.
The Raptors have now played 6 of their last 9 games since the end of the regular season Over the total, while the Cavaliers after playing tightly-contested defensive battles in the opening round versus Indiana have now played their last 4 this postseason Over the posted price.
I am not expecting this one to stay Under the total at all.

Arizona is an impressive 11-6 at home this year. They'll be looking to avenge three straight losses - two to division rival Los Angeles and last night versus the Houston Astros.
Stepping the hill for Arizona is Zack Greinke, whom I believe can shut down the Astros.
Greinke is in after earning a home win in his last outing, where he allowed two runs on four hits over six innings against the defending National League champion Dodgers. Greinke allowed just one hit through five before allowing a pair of runs in the sixth. His aresenal will be working tonight against Houston.
The D-backs won their first nine series - the first NL team since the 1907 Chicago Cubs to do so - and missed a chance to become just the second team in league history to win its first 10 series, as the Dodgers took the last series.
I am looking for Arizona as an underdog, to bounce back and take this one tonight, with Houston losing three of four.

Play the Milwaukee Brewers over the Pittsburgh Pirates as my comp winner.
I'm not listing pitchers tonight, as this one is more about the momentum both teams bring into this game.
The Brewers saw their three-game win streak come to a close after getting popped by the Bucs last night. But Milwaukee closed a nine-game junket with a three-game sweep in Cincinnati, outscoring the Reds 16-12, and will bounce back and keep its winning going.
The Brewers have won 11 of 16, dating back to April 17. Sitting in second place in the National League Central, the Brewers are behind the St. Louis Cardinals by one half game. The Cubs and the Bucs are one game back of Milwaukee in third place.
Travis Shaw, the team leader with 19 runs scored, eight doubles and 53 total bases, returned to the lineup last night, going 1-for-4. Tonight he'll be back in a groove and will make a difference in the lineup.
Pittsburgh has lost four of five after being swept in Washington prior to arriving in Milwaukee, and will struggle to get things going offensively a second night in a row.

I'm recommending a play on the Cardinals as a short home favorite against division rival Chicago on Saturday. St Louis took the opener 3-2 and have now won 3 straight games by that identical score. I look for the Cardinals to keep that momentum going here against a Cubs team that is really struggling at the plate.
Chicago has scored 3 or fewer runs in 9 straight games, totaling just 5 runs in their last 3 games combined. This is the perfect opponent for St Louis starter Luke Weaver to get back on track against. Weaver is a much better pitcher than he's shown here of late and has thrown the ball better at home, where he has a very strong 1.091 WHIP.
Weaver is 7-3 in his last 10 starts against a division opponent, 8-2 in his last 10 after a team loss in his last start and 7-1 in his last 8 when throwing on 5 days of rest. Take St Louis!

The Chicago Cubs come into this game against the Cardinals Saturday highly motivated for a victory. They have lost three straight, and now we’re getting them at a nice underdog value despite the fact that they have the advantage on the mound.
Tyler Chatwood has proven to be a nice addition to the rotation over the offseason. Chatwood has gone 2-3 with a 2.83 ERA in five starts this season, 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA in two road starts, and 2-1 with a 1.53 ERA in his last three outings.
Luke Weaver has really struggled of late for the Cardinals. He is 2-2 with a 5.17 ERA in six starts this season, but 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA and 1.857 WHIP in his last three starts. Weaver has never beaten the Cubs, going 0-2 with a monstrous 13.09 ERA and 2.364 WHIP in three career starts against them.
Chicago is 18-2 (+15.5 units) when revenging a one-run loss to an opponent over the last two seasons. The Cubs are also 13-2 in road games off a one-run loss over the last two years. Weaver is 0-6 (-8.2 units) against the money line vs. teams that outscore their opponents by 0.5 or more runs per game over the last two seasons. Bet the Cubs Saturday.

The Boston Red Sox scored four solo home runs off Texas' starter Bartolo Colon in Friday's 5-1 win here at Globe Life Park, but I think they'll find it tougher tonight when facing Cole Hamels (1-4, 4.08 ERA) on the mound. The left-hander has not had a great start to the year, but I think he's on the verge of turning it around as he has allowed just three earned runs through 11 1/3 innings of work in his last two starts combined. Hamels is 4-1 with a 2.68 ERA in six career starts against the Red Sox who turn to Eduardo Rodriguez (3-0, 4.78 ERA). Rodriguez was tagged with five runs on five hits and three walks in just four innings against the Royals his last time out.
