Monday's comp play will be to side with the Under in the 76ers-Celtics first game.
I have a feeling this series is going to see the points add up, but just not tonight.
Philly has had almost a week between games, while Boston just concluded their opening round on Saturday night. Look for the combination of the 76ers being a little rusty, and the Celtics being a little tired to lead to a game that starts off slow and with not too many points posted.
3 of the 4 regular season series meetings between the teams did indeed hold Under the total.
The Sixers played Under the total in their last pair of games in their opening round, and 3 of the final 4 versus Miami also landed Low.
The Celtics played 2 of their final 3 versus the Bucks Under the total, and I see this one holding Under in Game One.
Philly-Boston to land Under.

I'm recommending a play on the +1.5 run line with the red-hot Pirates in Monday's series opener at Washington. Pittsburgh just swept a 3-game series over the weekend at home against division rival St. Louis and have won 5 straight overall.
I like their chances of winning here, but feel there's some real added value with the run line, allowing us to still cash if they lose and keep it within a run. Note the Nationals have played in a number of close games, especially of late. Five out of their last six have been decided by 2-runs or less.
With the Nationals offense not exactly in prime form, I also think this is an ideal bounce back spot for Pirates' starter Jameson Taillon. He followed up a bad outing at Philadelphia with an even worse start at home against the Tigers, but prior to that he'd posted a 0.89 ERA over his first 3 starts.
Pittsburgh scored at least 5 runs in all 3 wins over the Cardinals and have scored 5+ in 5 of their last 6. I think there's a good chance they can keep it going against Washington starter Tanner Roark, who has a 4.91 ERA at home and owns a 4.81 ERA in 3 career starts against the Pirates. Take Pittsburgh +1.5!

Pittsburgh's Jameson Taillon (2-2, 4.91) vs Tanner Roark (1-2, 3.77) in Monday's opener
Pittsburgh's been hot and just completed a weekend sweep of the St.Louis Cards , but Taillon their starter today has given up 12 runs on 14 hits in only 5 1/3 innings his last two times to the hill, after also starting the season in top form. It must also be noted that the Pirates are 0-14 on the moneyline in the first game of a series with no rest after a win as a home dog in which they never trailed. Meanwhile Roark even though he hasn't won since April 2, 2nd, has actually been tough on opposing batting orders, as they are hitting just .182 against him, and must not be underestimated here at home in DC.
PITTSBURGH is 7-18 L/25 against the money line vs. a starting pitcher whose gives up 1 or more HR's/start.PITTSBURGH is 16-34 L/50 against the money line as a road underdog of +100 to +150.WASHINGTON is 38-26 against the money line when the money line is +125 to -125 dating back to last season. PITTSBURGH is 2-11 against the money line after 2 straight wins by 4 runs or more over the last few seasons.

I liked Jordan Zimmerman a lot when he pitched for the Nationals. I hate him from a handicapping perspective since he's been with the Tigers. It is going on three years now that Zimmerman has been with Detroit and he keeps worse and worse. Zimmerman had a 4.87 ERA in his first year with Detroit in 2016. His ERA climbed to 6.08 last year and it is 7.91 this season. This will be Zimmerman's sixth start of the year. He has yet to post a quality outing. Zimmerman's career ERA versus Tampa Bay is 4.55 in five starts. So I'm willing to fade Zimmerman at this short road price with the Rays, who are 8-1 in their last nine games and playing with far more confidence than the Tigers. Detroit is 3-6 in its last nine games on course for another 98 game-loss type of season. The youthful Tigers may not have their full concentration either returning home after being on the road for the past week. They also are likely to be without their best hitter, Miguel Cabrera. He left Sunday's game after four inning with left biceps spasms. Tampa Bay starter Jake Faria is a promising second-year pitcher, who is 1-0 with a 3.45 ERA during his last three starts. I would prefer him at home, but the Rays are 7-3 in his last 10 road starts. Faria defeated the Tigers last season allowing one run on six hits in seven innings. He's my preferred choice against Zimmerman especially with Cabrera likely out.

I'll take my chances here with the Reds as a home dog here against division rival Milwaukee. The Brewers were just swept in a 4-game series at Chicago against the Cubs. It was about as bad of an offensive showing as you will see. Milwaukee scored 2 runs the entire series, getting shutout in 3 of the 4 games. I think the perception here is that they will just return to their winning ways against the Reds, who are just 7-21 on the season. However, Cincinnati has been playing much better of late, as they have won 4 of their last 7. A big reason for that is the offense has finally started to produce. Over this 7-game stretch the Reds are averaging 7.3 runs/game, while hitting .303 as a team with a .385 OBP and .470 SLG. I like their chances of keeping it going against Milwaukee starter Jhoulys Chacin, who has a 5.09 ERA and 1.698 WHIP in 4 road starts this season. Give me the Reds +108!

Jake Arrieta is earning his money for the Phillies going 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA in four starts and is just starting to get into game shape and stretching out his starts after coming in late. The Marlins got shutout pitching on Sunday but toss journeyman Dan Stailey here who makes his 2018 debut. Philly 8-1 this year vs. losing records and will keep getting fat against this kind.
