My free play for tonight is on the Oakland Athletics over the Kansas City Royals, and we're taking the boys from the Bay on the Run Line.
As of 6 am pacific, I'm not seeing a Run Line price, but it will be needed with the regular prices I'm seeing around -165.
IMPORTANT: As you know every single Run Line play and Total wager will automatically list the scheduled starting pitchers at the time of the wager. But with this game I am not concerned with who is pitching for either team tonight and want you playing this game on the Run Line regardless. That said, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be sure you have action even if one of the pitchers scheduled to start is scratched, by betting the game over again in the event that takes place.
Real quick here, with this game, I'm simply going against the struggling Royals, who have lost four in a row and and roll into Oakland with an 11-20 road record after falling in Anaheim last night. No time to rest, as the Royals headed north and now have to jump into this four-game series with the Athletics in Oaktown.
The crowd should be a bit raucous, as the Golden State Warriors are on the brink of another world championship after last night's demoralizing win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Oakland is 31-31 and would love to snap a two-game skid by shaking off a rough road trip that ended with last night's 8-2 loss in Arlington.
Take the A's on the Run Line.
1* ATHLETICS RUN LINE

So let me start by saying, that if you're playing with a traditional, I do understand that you may not be getting period-props. So I am advising you to play the Over in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final. Both teams have major goals, and both goalies will be under siege.
But I really like the total soaring in the first period, as we need two goals to get there. I don't see this one taking long, as the Vegas Golden Knights will want to get things started immediately, and will try to ignite the crowd, and the Washington Capitals will be fighting for the first goal to deflate the crowd early.
In the playoffs, the Capitals have taken 235 shots on goal in the first period, their second most behind the 249 they've taken in the second period.
Washington is 12-4 when it has scored first, while the Golden Knights are 11-2 when putting the puck in the net first. And when leading after one period, Washington is 7-3 and Vegas is 7-1.
The first period dictates how this game will go tonight, and it will be the start of a wild scene in Las Vegas, where the Golden Knights will look to keep the fairy tale going. If there is any team that can do that, after the season they've had, it's the Knights.
I don't know Vegas wins, but I like the first period to go Over. And if you can't get that play, take the Over in the game.
2* OVER Capitals/Golden Knights, 1st period

Your Thursday freebie is the Over in the Stanley Cup Final between the Capitals and the Golden Knights.
I have the feeling that Marc-Andre Fleury is a little "rattled" right now, and with elimination of the line, there could be a few empty-net opportunities for the Caps before this one is all said and done.
Monday's meeting turned into a 6-2 rout for Washington in a game that landed Over the total, and I see this game tonight also devolving into a game that stays tight early, but results in a flurry of late goals to send it over the total.
Game One was 6-4 in favor of Vegas, and Game Two on Knights' ice ended at 3-2 in favor of Washington in a game that held Under by a hook.
Washington has been rolling on offense, and that momentum will continue tonight I believe.
If Vegas wishes to play again in this series, they had better find the back of the net tonight. At home, I think they will.
Lotsa goals in this one.
Caps-Knights Over the total.
2* WASHINGTON-VEGAS OVER

I like two player props for tonight's Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, and that is to see Vegas' James Neal and Evgeny Kuznetsov to score goals. The prices I am seeing are incredible value, so I'm going to play on both of these guys.
Neal, who is making his second-straight Stanley Cup Final appearance after playing with Nashville last season, has tied a career high with six goals in the postseason, including a goal in Game 4. He would have liked to have two goals last game, as he clanked the post after staring at a wide open net. It wouldn't surprise me to see him net the first goal of the game tonight, and even score a couple.
Meanwhile, Kuznetsov recorded four assists in Game 4 to match a single-game Stanley Cup Final record. Kuznetsov, who leads the playoffs with 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists)
in 23 games, became the fifth NHL player since 1997 to register 30 or more points in a single postseason. He plays on the team's top line with Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson, and arguably has been the team's MVP during this Final run. I think he scores tonight.
Based on 1♦ to 5♦
2* KUZNETSOV GOAL (YES, +190) 1* NEAL GOAL (YES, +200)

Thursday's comp play comes in hockey on the Washington Capitals over the Vegas Golden Knights.
It has been a magical first season of hockey in Sin City, as the expansion Golden Knights have far exceeded the hockey world's expectations by advancing to the Stanley Cup in their first season on the ice!
Look for the clock to strike 12 tonight on the Knights, as Washington has been the better - more dominant - team the longer this series has gone on, as the Capitals took the last game played at the T-Mobile Arena last Wednesday night, and have now reeled off 3 straight victories over Vegas.
Not only have the Caps been winning, but it really has not been close, as Washington has outscored Vegas, 12-5 in taking the 3-1 series lead.
Alexander Ovechkin and his team can finally see the finish line, and clearly they have Marc-Andre Fleury's number of late.
Take the Caps plus money to end the hockey season tonight.

Dave’s Thursday Free Play:
1* on Baltimore Orioles +137
The Key: I like the price we are getting with the Baltimore Orioles as big road underdogs to the Toronto Blue Jays tonight. The Blue Jays are 1-7 in their last 8 games and should not be this big of favorites. The Orioles also have the edge on the mound with David Hess, who is 2-2 with a 3.47 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 4 starts this year. He’ll be opposed by Jaime Garcia, who is 2-4 with a 6.47 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 10 starts for the Blue Jays. Toronto is 5-16 in its last 21 home games. Take Baltimore.

Play on: UNDER 8 -107
Ross Benjamin has a 10* Top Play money line pick on Thursday’s Game 6 of the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs between Washington/Las Vegas (8:05 ET/NBC). Since 2012, Ross has gone a solid 147-103 (59%) with his NHL postseason picks.
Seattle (Leake) @ Tampa Bay (Stanek) 7:10 PM ET
Game# 915-916
Play On: Under 8.0
The Mariners Mike Leake has displayed excellent form throughout his previous 3 starts while posting a 1.66 ERA and 0.74 WHIP. Seattle hasn’t made a fielding error in 14 straight games.
Tampa Bay is coming off a 11-2 loss at Washington in their previous game. They’ve gone 8-2 under the total during its last 10 games following an over, and that includes 4-0 during their previous 4 when in that precise situation. The Rays are averaging a paltry 2.6 runs scored per game during its last 7 outings while compiling an awful .562 team OPS.
These teams met in a 3-game series at Seattle earlier this season and each of those games went under the total. As a matter of fact, there was only a combined average of 4.7 runs scored per game.
Any team (Seattle) with a total of 7.0 to 8.5 that hasn’t made an error in 4 straight games, and their starting pitcher (Leake) has a WHIP of 0.80 or less thru his previous 3 starts, resulted in those games going 56-22 (71.8%) under the total since 2014. Those 78 games average a combined 6.3 runs scored per outing. Bet on this game to go under the total for my Thursday 6/7 MLB free pick.
