With both sides struggling this matchup has lost some of its luster however both are still within striking distance in the National League Central division chase and CLOSE games have been the order of the day in this "series". Earlier this campaign St. Louis traveled to Pittsburgh and won all 3 games with all three ending with identical 2-to-1 final scores (last time that had been done in the majors way back in 1945). Pittsburgh has won both games in the series this weekend with one of them a razor tight contest that ended in a 4-3 final verdict. While Pittsburgh starter Chad Kuhl has seen an uptick in velocity his team is only 1-6 in the past seven "road" starts. Meanwhile St. Louis is on an ugly 3-13 skid at HOME with Mike Leake as their starters and he often has fallen victim to a severe lack of run support. Thus I am playing it safe tonight TAKING one-and-a-half runs with Pittsburgh on the RUN LINE (-165) in what sets up as another close affair

Dallas won its third straight in an 81-69 win over San Antonio on Friday when Skylar Diggins-Smith led the Wings with 30 points, and Theresa Plaisance added 19 points and eight rebounds. This followed another win over the Stars on Wednesday after an impressive victory over the Washington Mystics. Connecticut comes off a 94-89 road win at New York on Friday as Jasmine Thomas led five players in double figures with 23 points, and the Sun managed a win even while allowing the Liberty to shoot 53.3 percent from the floor. This is the first meeting of the season between these teams, and look for Dallas to keep it close.
