Houston at Philadelphia
Play: Under 220.5

The Houston Rockets go to Philadelphia tonight to play the up-and-coming young 76ers. We will be on the Under here tonight. The Rockets have struggled of late to score and they have been terrible behind the three-point line. They lead the league in three-point attempts with an average of 42 per game but they are 28th out of 30 teams hitting only 27.5 %. The 76ers play very good three-point defence as they are ranked 4th in the early NBA season which should make for another long night at the 3 point line for the Rockets. The Rockets still are without PG Chris Paul and have seemed to concentrate a little more on defence this year holding teams to an average of 102.5 points per game. The 76ers have struggled to score averaging 99.5 points per game which we believe will set this game up nicely for the UNDER. The total on this game at the time of this writing is at 220 1/2 points and we see this being just a few too many especially with how these clubs have been playing of late.

San Antonio vs. Miami
Play: San Antonio -3.5

Miami finished last season strong, but is a lackluster 2-1 this season with its victories coming against probably lottery-bound Indiana and Atlanta. The Heat's loss occurred against Orlando.

Now the Heat face their strongest opponent by far - San Antonio. And the Heat have to play the Spurs without their best player, center Hassan Whiteside. He remains out with a left knee bruise. That's not Miami's only injury. Goran Dragic, the Heat's second-best player, has a bruised thigh and Dion Waiters has a sore ankle.

Oddsmakers are downgrading the Spurs because they don't have injured Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker. San Antonio, though, has outstanding depth. LaMarcus Aldridge has handled the heavy lifting averaging 24.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Dejounte Murray has filled in admirably well for Parker at point guard averaging 13.3 points, a team-high 9.7 rebounds and a team-high 4.7 assists. Parker would be hard-pressed to match those numbers.

San Antonio also has covered eight of the last nine meetings between the two clubs.

MIAMI (+4) over San Antonio

San Antonio has not missed MVP Kwami Leonard so far this season as they have rolled out to a 3-0 start with 3 home wins. But it’s going to get toiughter on the road for the Spurs and we think it begins tonight in Miami where the Heat are coming off their best game of the year so far in a 104-93 win over Atlanta. We think it’s a similar score tonight. Take the Heat!
