The Cards lead the NL Central but there is no reason they should be this kind of favorite on the road with Kyle Loshe on the mound. Loshe has some pretty horrible numbers as his ERA is over seven in his last three starts. Look for the padre offense tht has been heating up to get plenty of runs for Richard tonight. Since coming over from the White Sox Richard is 1-0 at Petco with a three ERA look for him to get the win tonight.

This is Arizona’s fourth city in six days and this team’s head has to be spinning. They just got their asses kicked by the Phillies and now they have to deal with Roy Oswalt. This is Oswalt’s first home start in a month. And I know it looks like he hasn’t been throwing well but trust me – there are a lot more circumstances that go into it than that. This is when Oswalt excels – second half of the year and at home. The Diamondbacks are 3-12 in Yo Petit’s last 15 starts and 3-8 when he starts on the road. Oswalt is 9-1 in his last 10 starts against Arizona and 6-0 at home against them. He is 60-23 in his last 83 home starts and 41-14 vs. the N.L. West. He has also won seven of eight starts.

Jonathan Sanchez has a 1-3 record and a 7.45 ERA in his career against the Rockies – with much of that damage having come at Coors Field. This is a huge series for both teams and tonight the Rockies have their ace on the hill while the Giants have their No. 4 starter. Advantage, us. The Giants are just 31-63 on the road against a team that’s above .500 and they are just 2-15 in Sanchez’s last 17 road starts (8-24 in his last 32 starts overall). The Rockies are 10-1 at home against a lefty starter and 23-9 in their last 32 home games. Aaron Cook has won five of his last seven starts against the Giants and I think he’ll be ready to roll. Rockies are 13-7 overall in this series.

The Cardinals just got a look at Clayton Richard and they sent him packing after three innings. Richard will bounce back strong tonight, but it's not going to be enough. Mediocre lefties like this are going to have a really hard time against the Cardinals lineup now that Holiday and Pujols are doing their thing. The Cards have won four straight against southpaws - and five of six on the road - and the Cardinals have won nine straight in this series overall. Killing myself for not being on them yesterday. Let's see if we can't get to the well one more time.

I’m not quite sure what’s been wrong with Jeremy Guthrie this year but the dude has an ERA of 5.66. That’s not good. He has given up five runs or more in four of his last five starts and this year his road ERA is 6.08. The Orioles are just 20-52 in their last 72 road games and they are just 8-20 in Guthrie’s starts. The White Sox are a really focused team right now and they are just so much better when they play at home. Gavin Floyd is a stunning 24-6 in his last 30 home starts and the White Sox are 17-8 at home overall. Guthrie is a fly ball pitcher against a team that loves to hit home runs. Not a good sign for the O’s.

It’s the Angels against a left-handed starter. Not much more to it than that. The Halos are 36-16 against a southpaw and they are 21-7 on the road against a lefty. In fact, the Angels are 22-7 away from home and 37-14 overall. They have won seven of O’Sullivan’s last eight starts and are facing a team that is in a perfect letdown spot after the hated Yankees left town. Angels have won 7 of 10 in this series and are 5-2 in the last seven games at SkyDome. Backing the better team with plus-money and will chase out on this series if we need to.

In the long run I think the Vikings will be a better team with him, but as for this game some Vikings are confused and upset about all the retired, unretired mess. Play Against - Home teams (MINNESOTA) - after a win by 10 or more points against opponent after scoring 3 points or less in the first half last game. This system is 25-7 since 1993. My power ratings has Kansas City winning this game outright by 11 points. We'll play Kansas City for 5 units tonight!

These teams and pitchers are familiar with each other. Both teams are tied for the division at 64-57. Its actually quite amazing the Braves are only 6.5 games back of the division lead and 4 games back of the Rockies for the wild card - the Marlins are the same disance as well as both teams have the same record. Anibal Sanchez has great talent and he has been banged up with injuries this year. He came back to face the Braves at Atlanta on April 16th and went 6 innings and gave up just 2 runs en route to a Florida 6-2 win. He faced the Braves again on May 7th and lost 2-4 at home. He has not made a start since June as he looks to come back into form today. Vasquez comes off a dissappointing 1-4 loss to the Phillies at home. Prior to that start, he had put togethr 8 of 9 quality starts as he is 6-1-1 over his last 8 starts. I believe both pitchers pitch well today as this is for second place in the division as this game is likely a pitcher's duel. The Under is 12-2-1 when Sanchez is an Underdog and the Under is 6-0-1 in Vasquez's last 7 home starts.

The Mystics are 12-13 and they are right in the thick of things for the playoffs. They have a very important game out west in Phoenix today as they look to .500 for the season. With the Dream winning the other night, the Mystics must together a strong effort today. Plus, when these two teams last met this year, Phoenix won 93-87. However, the Mystics actually outscored the Mercury by 8 points the remaining 3 quarters. It was simply the first quarter that this team struggled terribly as they fell behind early by 13 points. I look for them to get on a much faster start today. Washington also comes off a tough 3 point loss to the Sparks at Staples and a tough 1 point loss to the Liberty at home. They need this game. Phoenix comes off a big win at Chicago and I can see them having a let down here today. The Mystics are 4-1 ATS on the road of late, they have revenge here, there has been reverse line movement in their favor and they are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Phoenix.

The Chiefs may have lost Tony Gonzalez, but they have a very impressive bunch at wide receiver and decent depth at running back. This is a team that should put up some points this year which is something they could not do in the past. The Vikings are the most talked about team in the league now that they acquired Brett Favre. The Vikings also have good receivers and great depth at running back. Favre will push the backup QB's especially Tavaris Jackson to step up their own play. Look for fireworks in this game on offense.
