10 Dime -- Braves (Vazquez) over BREWERS (Parra)

BRAVES
NOTE: List only Vazquez as Atlanta's starting pitcher

Brewers left-hander Manny Parra (4-8, 6.37 ERA) has been sharp in two outings since spending a month in the minors, allowing one runs and eight hits in 13 innings while striking out 13.Parra was downright awful before that, however, and gave up five runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings on June 7 in his lone career start against the Braves. He will be opposed by Atlanta right-hander Javier Vazquez (7-7, 2.86), who ranks in the top ten in the National League in ERA and strikeouts (141).Vazquez has been strong over his last five starts, going 3-1 with a 1.34 ERA. He allowed one run and six hits in seven innings Sunday against the Mets in his last outing.Vazquez is only 5-7 with a 4.87 ERA in 15 starts vs. Milwaukee, but he is 1-2 with a 2.17 ERA in his last four outings against the Brew Crew.Milwaukee has lost 12 of its last 18, and is 1-7 in Parra’s last eight home starts.Atlanta has won 15 of its last 22 games, and has a better record against southpaws (19-15) than against right-handers (30-32).
Look for Vazquez to continue to mow down batters today.

Take the Braves in this one.

25 Dime Rangers

Rangers at Royals
RANGERS - The Texas Rangers have won four straight games coming into tonight, while the Kansas City Royals have lost nine straight.Yet, the Rangers come into tonight installed as an underdog. It seems a little ridiculous and we’re taking full advantage of the Plus money. After dominating the early part of the season, Zack Greinke has turned back into his Royal self. Well, in all fairness, he has pitched decently, but he’s had no run support behind him. After starting the season a perfect 6-0, Greinke only has four wins his last 13 starts. In that stretch the Royals have gone 4-9 and are just 2-7 Greinke’s last 9 starts, including 0-3 his last three. On the other side, the Rangers’ Scott Feldman has been solid his last 5 outings. The Rangers are 4-1 his last five starts and have won 6 of his last 7 starts on the road. Also keep in mind that, going back to last year, the Rangers are 8-3 their last 11 games against the Royals.Texas will do it again tonight and get over on Kanas City as a road ’dog. Take the Rangers on the road in this one tonight.

JACK JONES

15* San Francisco Giants +117

You can't deny that the Rockies are playing well lately, but you can't pass up on Matt Cain as an underdog or slight favorite tonight. Cain has been incredible so far this year, earning an 11-2 record with a 2.32 ERA and 1.22 WHIP. Cain is also unbeaten in his last 3 starts, posting a 1.17 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over that stretch. The Rockies throw Jason Hammel, and it's becoming clear that he is not comfortable throwing in Colorado. He has 8 home starts to his credit this season, but has a 7.68 ERA and 1.93 WHIP in those games. The Giants picked up a much-needed win over Atlanta last night and that momentum, coupled with the golden arm of Matt Cain should earn them the victory on Friday.

Bobby Maxwell

400-Unit A.L. Book Buster - TEXAS RANGERS (play only with Feldman as listed pitcher for Texas)

After looking a little shaky right after the All-Star break, the Rangers have pulled it together nicely, with four straight wins as they go into Kansas City where the Royals have looked like a train wreck lately, losing nine straight. The Rangers just swept the Red Sox and are on runs of 10-2 on Fridays, 5-2 against right-handed starters, 9-4 as underdogs and 5-1 on the road against teams with losing home records. They've got Scott Feldman (8-3, 3.87 ERA) on the mound tonight going up against Royals' ace Zack Greinke (10-5, 2.08).With Feldman on the hill, Texas is on streaks of 4-1 overall, 4-0 when he's a road 'dog, 7-1 on the road overall, 5-0 against teams with losing records and 4-1 when he gets five days of rest. Meanwhile, the Royals are just 2-7 in Greinke's last nine starts, 0-4 in his last four at home, 5-14 when he goes on Fridays and 0-4 when he's a home favorite. Feldman is 5-1 on the road this season and his last roadie he held the Mariners to two runs in 6.2 innings of a 6-4 victory. His only career start against the Royals came in August of 2008 when he gave up just two earned runs in seven innings of a 9-4 win.
Greinke lost two 2-1 decisions to the Rangers last year but this year threw a complete-game shutout, winning 2-0. The problem is not him, the problem is the Royals' horrendous offense.Texas has won eight of the last 11 meetings with the Royals and that will continue today. Play the Rangers.

WUNDERDOG GAME 2 OF DOUBLE HEADER

Game: Chicago White Sox at Detroit
Pick: Detroit -120 (moneyline)

Bartolo Colon has always been a sought after pitcher, and has been a lure for many teams with the latest being the Chicago White Sox. Sometimes that lure isn't as attractive as it looks. Colon will never again resemble the pitcher that won 135 games in eight years from '98-'05. He is now on his third team in three years, and the wins have been hard to come by. Since '05, Colon is just 14-21, despite pitching for all winning teams. This year is no expception as the White Sox are just 3-8 in his 11 starts. The White Sox are just 14-37 in their last 51 against a team with a home winning percentage of .600 or higher, while the Tigers have been a flawless 7-0 at home against teams with a winning record in their last seven matchups. I'll go with Detroit in this one. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS GAME TWO OF THE DOUBLEHEADER
