Florida is 14-5 when Josh Johnson starts but the Marlins will play as significant dogs in this match-up. Johnson has made 19 starts this season and only once has he allowed more than three runs and that game came very early in the season. Johnson owns a 3.11 strikeout to walk ratio and a 2.74 ERA overall. The Marlins bullpen has also stepped up to keep Florida in the playoff chase, featuring a 1.46 ERA over the last ten games. The Dodgers are 33-15 at home this season 13-0 at home, meaning they are just 20-15 since. The Marlins have actually won six of the last eight games in Los Angeles and Florida is 12-5 in the last 17 road starts for Johnson. The Dodgers are batting just .265 in the last ten games and this is a team that is overvalued based on a great early season record that has hid some recent mediocrity. Clayton Kershaw has great numbers but he rarely goes deep into games and walks have been a bit of a problem The Los Angeles bullpen in banged up right now and Kershaw has only won three home games this season. Florida is 21-14 against left-handed starters this season and the Marlins should not be forgotten in the NL playoff race.
