Today we have Carpenter vs. Arroyo
on what looks to be a good game pitching wise.. but I disagree.
Carpenter coming off a rough outing and has a 4.58ERA in his last three seems to be a little off right now. Reds .289 average vs. RHP as of late tells me they should be able to get some runs here at home in a ball park that is not exactly pitcher friendly. Arroyo will head to the mound for the Reds with a 1.98whip and a 7.47ERA in his last three starts. The Cardinals may be able to score the 8 runs on their own in this one, but I don't doubt the Reds will be right there. The cardinals are batting .278 and have scored 7.71R/9 in their last 5 vs. RHP. I'd be confident in saying they'll hit the ball as they are a streaky hitting team they were down last week, but seem to be putting it together now. The Over is 42-16-3 the last 61 games for the Cardinals where the total is 7-8.5. The line has moved around quite a bit and the public is on the Cardinals but the line has moved towards the Reds. Don't be surprised if the Reds hit here today folks.

Though Richard has been really average for the White Sox, Bannister is no ace or even an above average pitcher for that matter and not the type of guy who can carry an offense as bad the Royals and the price tag of being a favorite that goes with all of it. In fact these two met just last weekend and Richard and the Sox crushed Bannister and the Royals 11-2.

Chicago bats are finally starting to heat up of late, hitting around .350 the past week and averaging 6.5 runs along the way. The Royals on the other hand have scored less then 2 runs per game in the past week and this comes against arguably maybe one all star type starting pitcher in the bunch.

The Sox offensive struggle have come at home. On the road they have hit well all year averaging over 5 runs per game and hitting .285, which has led them to an above .500 road record for the year. The Royals on the other hand have slowly fallen back to their old ways, averaging less then 4 runs per game while hitting around .250 for the season.

The big difference and the turnaround of the two clubs is in the bullpens. Once the Royals strength, now has become a big problem area for them. The Sox hold a sizeable edge in this part of the game.

The Sox have slid right back into the divisional race and need a win here to win the series against the lowly Royals. This game is huge for them and they know it. They have got back in the race by beating up on the teams in their division and they understand the importance of taking care of your own division first and foremost. We get them at a dog price today and we will take it.

European filly trained by the legendary Henry Cecil has rolled right through her conditions, winning her first three starts before losing by just a nose last time out. Important to note that her last two starts have come at this 1 1/4-mile distance, which gives her an edge over most in here. Looks tough.
Hollywood - Race 10
#6 Noble Court (7/2 ml)
I've been saying for a while now that this horse has the strongest late kick of any sprinter on the circuit, and he's really come through for us in his last two starts. Should appreciate the slight cutback in distance, and gets lots of pace to run at today. Hard not to like again. I do want to mention however that the second-place finisher from his last race, Rush With Thunder, ran a comparable race last time out, and is listed @ 15/1 here. Both horses had troubled trips last time too, as Rush With Thunder impeded Noble Court on the turn and forced him way out wide, while Rush With Thunder was then caught behind traffic into the lane and had to wait for an opening. Noble Court ran by him when both horses were out in the clear in the final sixteenth, but both were finishing powerfully, and it'll probably be a good idea to box them in an exacta here. Could well run 1-2 again.

I look for the Marlins to take another game from the Pirates today. I have found several trends that say they will. First, we have the Pirates as 3-26 SU since 2006 on the road when they won the last two games their starter started. Also, the Pirates are 8-26 SU since 2008 season when they are off a loss in which they never led. Finally, here is a nice trend in favor of the Marlins. The Marlins are 32-9 SU since 2005 season as a 140+ favorite and it is the last game of a series. Take the Marlins for another win Today.
