3* Baltimore Ravens -3

John Fox used to care about winning and the public will line up on that fact and we will fire away on the other side & this 1st play of the new season goes to a deeper Ravens squad, The thin QB rotation by the Carolina Panthers rookie Matt Moore and a few real no names will not match up well vs. the Ravens D, the Ravens are a solid ball club and the are #2 in our power ratings on the defensive side of the ball. The Ravens have strong threesome of QB's Joe Flacco, Marc Bulger and Troy Smith who will put up some points and they want to win Acquiring A. Boldin has shown the players the front office wants to win! The Carolina Panthers just don’t have the players to fill that hole left by Julius Peppers

Tony George

Baltimore / Carolina Under 34.5

Both team stress defense and both teams like to run the ball. Neither team has a deep threat at WR with Smith out for Carolina and Baltimore having limited resources to stretch the field vertically after their starting unit. Should be a battle of field position and simple running the ball. Opening games are always pretty vanilla, and neither of these teams is an offensive juggernaut with their first teams, which will not play past 8-10 plays. They also played last year in the third week of the preseason to a total of 30 points with Baltimore having 400 total yards! Play 1 Unit on the Under.

5 Units New Orleans +1½

This matchup reminds me of the old movie "Trading Places", as the New Orleans Saints are the team entering here as defending Super Bowl Champs and not the New England Patriots. Bill Belichick used to be a huge moneymaker during the NFLX, but with so many Super Bowls, these games have taken on less and less meaning the longer he strolls the sidelines. Looking at the Pats in early week one and week two games over the past three years, Belichick's Patriots have clearly been no-shows sporting a 1-5 ATS mark. Brady will get limited snaps and with no real QB to follow - don't expect much, especially after the knee injury scare. The Saints playing any other team here might be in trouble, but going to the last decade’s version of Titletown, should give them enough juice to get the win here vs. the disinterested Pats.

3* NY Yankees -1.5 runs -150 over KC
I am going to try to catch the yankees getting into a long winning streak here. The Yanks schedule upcoming has KC, a fading Detroit, and Seattle, I think we could get a nice win streak. Chen has been awful vs the Yanks in his career. KC has been just awful scoring runs and CC, who is throwing the ball well, should be able to shut them down tonight. If we can get this Yankee streak going we can pick up some big units in the next few weeks.

1* Boston -110 over Toronto
There are rumors about Lackey being hurt due to his recent struggles. I didn't see anything but bad focus the last few starts. I think he comes out and pitches a great game today to quiet those rumors. Boston own the jays. They have won 9 of the L10 in Toronto.

1* San Diego -1.5 runs +110 over Pittsburgh
Garland is pitching well 6-2 at home w/avg rpg difference of over 2 runs. Duke has been pitching well but on the road, Pitt just doesn't score and his road games Pitt gets outscored by more than 3 RPG. Padre offense has picked it up over the last 15 games.
