The Braves battle the Mets in the finale of this three game N. L. East Division series when Kris Medlen matches serves with Mike Pelfrey at Turner Field in Atlanta. Medlen has been a diamond in the rough, winning 13 of his 17 career team starts, including each of his last 10 in a row. On the flip side, Pelfrey is 0-5 with a 10.05 ERA in his last five team starts. Pelfrey is also 1-4 away during August in his MLB career team starts. With that, look for Medlen to improve to 2-0 in his career against the Mets here tonight. We recommend a 3-unit play on Atlanta.

The O’s beat the Angels last night 6-3 for their second win in the last 10 games. Tonight in the final game of the series the O’s send Matusz to the mound while the Angels throw Santana. Big time pitching mismatch here as Matusz should be pitching in the minor leagues, if Baltimore had anyone better to take his place. The O’s lefty has been bad on the season with a 5.46 ERA and he’s pitched awful in his last three starts with a 12.60 ERA and 2.20 WHIP, both off the charts. Meanwhile, Santana has been solid all season with a 3.65 ERA which has translated into a 12-9 team start record. Also, he’s been tough on the road with a 2.73 ERA. Playing against Matusz at home in night games this season has produced a perfect 7-0 record. Look for the Angels bats to come alive tonight and win this one in a blowout!
I have to take off for work but if you see something feel free to post it except nothing from pregame or Doc's
