JR O'Donnell
3* Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers are -130 tonight for a reason as JR O is firing away "2 fisted" on the Broad Street Bullies at home tonight. The Flyers are a strong 24-14 at home as the home squad in game 3 is a perfect 5-0 in the playoffs. Vegas has set this line at -130 for a reason and the public will jump on the Blackhawks and their 11-3 road record. Not us, we're not biting on that trap line with the Blackhawks. We have the Flyers at a smooth 1.56 goal variance tonight. The Mike Richards/Jeff Carter line for Phila has yet to score and tonight they light up the Chi Blackhawks Goal minder A Niemi. Flyers win game 3!!

Matchup: L.A. Angels at Kansas City
Time: 8:10 PM EDT (Wed)
Listed pitchers must go: (L) KAZMIR, S vs. (R) DAVIES, K
Play: Kansas City (ML +100)
The Royals are far from a dynamo, but they're actually playing pretty good ball lately. Kansas City is 11-8 over the last 19 games, and I like their chances of garnering a second straight victory against the Angels tonight. Kyle Davies has been solid at home in all four of of starts to date, and he's done fine against the Halos in a small sample. The news is not so good for Scott Kazmir, who is struggling to put it together. He remains vulnerable to big innings because of his poor control, couple with the fact he's no longer anywhere near the strikeout pitcher he was before the injury issues. Kazmir has not done well on the road and he's also had his difficulties at this locale. It's now two months into the season, and I think it's now pretty apparent the Angels are just not a real strong team anymore, yet they're still being priced that way to some extent. Tonight, I see the value being on the home team and I'll opt for the Royals to get me a win.

Matchup: Colorado at San Francisco
Time: 10:15 PM EDT (Wed)
Listed pitchers must go: (L) FRANCIS, J vs. (R) CAIN, M
Play: Colorado (ML +117) SOLID GOLD PLAY
Jeff Francis finally had a bad inning in his last start, getting knocked around in the sixth inning by the Dodgers. But there's been very little else to find fault with for the now healthy Rockies southpaw. The Giants have not done well against lefties, although that problem may be alleviated somewhat with the arrival of Buster Posey. No question Matt Cain figures to be tough on the Rox tonight. But the SF late inning bullpen could be vulnerable here, as closer Brian Wilson has worked each of the last two nights and threw a pair of innings in Tuesday's extra inning game. I like the fact that the Rockies are gunning for the road sweep and catching a little bit of a price to boot, and I'll fire on Colorado tonight to get another win.

I really like the Atlanta Braves in this game vs the Phillies...I'm sorry I didn't play the Braves and the run line yesterday behind T.Hudson...something has to give here...the Phillies have been struggling to score runs but not vs D.Lowe...so far the Phils have already handed Lowe two of his four losses on the season...but right now the Braves have started June just like May...they have now won 21 of their last 29 games overall...the Braves are also 8-0 in their last 8 games as a home favorite of -110 to -150...18-4 in their last 22 games as a home favorite...7-0 in Lowes last 7 starts as a favorite of -110 to -150...the Phillies are 0-6 in their last 6 when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game...0-5 in their last 5 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game...1-6 in their last 7 games following a loss...Braves run line is the play here

Cain has been dealing as of late. Matt has been resembling the guy who last year I was on RL every start. In May he had a 1.71 ERA but only had a 3-3 record to show for it as the Giants still can't score with any consistency. Francis had a rough outing last outing but he uncharacteristically gave up the long ball and I can't see that happening again. Jeff is pitching with an enthusiasm of someone who is getting a second chance and that is contagious for the players behind him. Players play a little harder and there has been some fantastic defense played behind him in his 3 games this year. Both teams are having their trouble scoring in games within the division as the pitching in the NL west is stellar. All 5 matchups so far this year between the 2 teams have stayed under the total.

Analysis: At 6:35 pm, our selection is on the New York Mets over the San Diego Padres. Take a look at the numbers for the two southpaw starters in tonight's game and you'll be amazed how close the 2010 stats are for the Mets perennial ace Johan Santana, and the mostly-unknown member of the Padres, Clayton Richard. They both have four wins and an ERA right around 3.00, with close to the same number of innings pitched. But before we put Richard in the same class as the two-time Cy Young winner, consider who the Padres' lefthander has faced recently. Richard's only wins have come against the Mariners, Brewers, and Giants (twice). When facing the Braves and Rockies, he lost badly, and he even lost his last start at home against the Nationals. Santana couldn't have pitched any better in his last start in Milwaukee, but he ran up against a buzz-saw by the name of Yovani Gallardo, who out-dueled him in the Brewers' 2-0 triumph. Santana doesn't have to worry about Gallardo tonight and he comes into this game knowing that he's beaten this team the last two times he's faced them. MLB Elite Info on the Mets.
