The Phillies are up to their "old tricks" on the West Coast. Simply put, the Phillies bats just have a tendency to "go to sleep" on the West Coast. When they couldn't get more off of Jonathan Sanchez last night that is a sure sign of things to come as they have managed to average just three runs per game so far on this road trip. Now, the Phillies must deal with Ryan Sadowski, a rookie hurler they have never seen. Even though he's struggled in his road outings, he's certainly taken advantage of pitcher-friendly AT & T Park.

Sadowski has a 1.50 ERA in his two home starts and the Phillies hurler tonight, Cliff Lee, will also certainly benefit from this "pitchers paradise". The Phillies highly coveted acquisition, Lee, has a big edge here as he had spent his entire career with the Indians over in the American League so the Giants have only seen him twice. By the way, in those two starts Lee has compiled a 1.20 ERA. The Phils southpaw has produced a quality start in eight of his last nine outings and we absolutely expect another one here! The Phillies fans get what they wanted - a talented pitcher to complement the rotation - but tonight it will be the futility of the bats that will frustrate! Consider a small play on the UNDER in San Francisco on Friday night.
