Arizona D-Backs vs. Colorado Rockies
Play: Colorado Rockies
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Rockies are looking to advantage of a favorable post all-star game schedule as they open a series at home against the Diamondbacks.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Colorado took three out of four against the Padres this weekend and they’ll look to continue their winning ways against a struggling Arizona team that just traded its top hitter.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
It’s doubtful the Rock’s will take the D-Backs lightly. Since June 4, Colorado is 30-10 at home however two of the losses came to Arizona. While the Rockies enjoyed their stay in San Diego, the Snakes lost two out of three in St. Louis and traded Felipe Lopez (.301 average) to Milwaukee for a pair of minor leaguers.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Diamondbacks’ .247 team batting average this season is second-worst in the NL behind San Diego’s .232, and they’ve averaged only 2.2 runs in Doug Davis’ last seven outings. The veteran lefty is 4-9 with a solid 3.41 ERA with an even better ERA on the road at 3.15. He’s 2-4 record in his career against Colorado with a 3.72 ERA.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Rockies have lost 24 of its last 36 home matchups with Arizona - including two of three July but tonight’s starter Jorge De La Rosa has won both of his previous starts vs. the Diamondbacks including a four-hit gem in a 5-0 victory on July 3rd.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Keep in mind this not the same Diamondback club of two months ago or even two days ago. The loss of Lopez leaves a big hole at the top of the lineup. Meanwhile the Rockies have feasted off left-handed pitching this season hitting a whopping .315.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Colorado starts the night eight games behind the first-place Dodgers but only a half game behind the wild-card leading Giants. Look for Jim Tracy and the Rockies to keep the foot on the gas against an Arizona teams that has waived the white flag and are thinking about next year.

Arizona D-Backs vs. Colorado Rockies
Play: Colorado Rockies
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Rockies are one of the hottest team in the majors.Tonight they fit a nice system that plays on home favorites in this range that come in off a road favored win having scored 5 or more runs and are taking on an opponent who is off a road dog loss scoring 2 runs or less. This system has cashed 10 of 11 times the past few years. The Rockies send J.Delarossa to the mound tonight and he has been solid in his home starts vs the Diamondbacks, allowing just 1 run in 14 innings of work. For Arizona its lefty D.Davis.In his road starts the D-Backs have lost 6 of 8 times this year.Tonight we back the Rockies to get the opening game of the series. For Monday I have 2 solid plays.Mlb side plays from 15-2 and 14-2 qualifying systems.Jump on and start the week with plus units.Take Colorado.

CUBS vs. PHILLIES
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The NL East-leading Philadelphia Phillies will attempt to win a ninth straight game for the first time in more than three years tonight against the Chicago Cubs. The Phillies (51-38) won 5-0 Sunday.Philadelphia's Jimmy Rollins is hitting .397 (23 for 58) with eight doubles, a homer, eight RBIs, five stolen bases and 10 walks over his last 14 games. The Phillies will give the ball to Rodrigo Lopez (1-0, 3.18 ERA), who is coming back from a long layoff due to a shoulder injury. The right-hander had his last outing on July 8 cut short after five innings due to inflammation in his throwing shoulder and he didn't factor in the 3-2 win over Cincinnati. That performance came five days after he yielded two runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings of a 7-2 win over New York which was his first major league win in nearly two years after being in Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Cubs (47-43) are also looking to match their season-high five game winning streak after an 11-3 victory Sunday over Washington.Ted Lilly (9-6, 3.18),the Cubs' lone All-Star representative and the team leader in wins and strikeouts (101) will start for the Cubs. He has won his last two starts while allowing three runs and 13 hits with 13 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings. Lilly's last trip to the mound resulted in his 100th victory when he allowed one run and four hits in eight innings of a 5-2 win over St. Louis on July 11th. This is an experient today for Phillies starting Rodrigo who has been average in TYriple A. He is also coming off a shoulder injury which will effect his confidence so the Cubs should get to him early by making him throw strikes, something he has had a problem with of late.

CHICAGO CUBS / PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
Take UNDER
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
All pitch, no hit, that's what you can call the Cubbies these days. Lucky for the Cubs that good pitching and solid defense can win games, evidenced by Chicago being just two games back of NL Central front runner, St Louis. The Cubs have managed to stay close despite an offense that produces just 4.16 runs per game (fourth worst in the NL). The Cubs also have the third worst batting average in the NL (.248). Today's matchup features a pair of good starters. Ted Lilly for the Cubs has a 3.18 ERA on the season and is 2-1 in his last three starts with a 2.11 ERA. Rodrigo Lopez makes just his third appearance this year, but has been very good with a 3.18 ERA, just two walks and eight KO's in his 11 1/3 innings of work. Look for a tight game here on Monday and an UNDER play!

San Francisco +150 at ATLANTA
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Sunday comp winner from the G-Man on the Mariners to make it a 6-1 run the last 7 days with my free plays.

For Monday night, going to take a shot with the underdog Giants as they head to Atlanta to face a Braves team that just took 3 of 4 from the struggling Mets.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
San Fran avoided the weekend sweep in Pittsburgh, and while they struggled at the plate, I will still back them against Tommy Hanson who made his last start on July 9th.

The extra time Hanson has had to wait to climb the mound could very well lead to control issues tonight, and while Hanson is 4-0, he has only worked past the 6th inning, once in his 7 starts this year.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Jonathan Sanchez will counter, and he is fresh off his no-hitter - near perfect game - against the Padres. This guy should be brimming with confidence.

San Francisco swept a 3-game set from the Braves back in May, and have now won 5 in a row, and 8 of the last 10 series meetings dating back to last year.

Drew Gordon

Arizona at COLORADO -140
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Now on a 27-17 roll with the plays I'm giving away, including the Rockies over the Padres 6-1 Sunday! For tonight's complimentary play, we're looking at the Arizona/Colorado match up.

Going with the Rockies once again here tonight, as the price may be a little steep, but its well worth it. Colorado notched a nice series win over the Padres coming off the All-Star Break, and I look for them to build off that tonight. Why? Well it all starts with the pitching match up...
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
I give credit where credit is due, and fact is Doug Davis has pitched well this season despite his ugly 4-9 record. His 3.26 ERA is a clear indicator of his effectiveness, BUT, its hard to ignore Arizona's atrocious 5-14 record when he takes the hill thus far this season! His downfall has been lack of run support, and the 2.2 runs of support he's gotten over his last 7 starts is a clear cut reason why he seemingly can't get a break. More of the same tonight, as the Rockies De La Rosa look to redeem himself in this one.

Speaking of De La Rosa, despite the fact his ERA is almost 2 runs higher than Davis, you wouldn't know it by his efforts against Arizona. He's seen the D-Backs twice this season, and both times he was excellent, allowing a total of 2 runs on 10 hits over 14 2/3 innings! Its no secret the Dimaondbacks do NOT hit lefties well, batting just .197 against them on the highway... Don't see how that changes tonight!
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Bottom line, not only is Colorado playing better baseball, but with the D-Backs struggles against De La Rosa this season, its more of the same for Davis, as he once again gets little-to-no support. Rockies offense is head and shoulders better, and with Arizona's bullpen posting a 5.46 ERA over their last 3, its only a matter of time in this contest. Rockies roll!

Take Colorado behind De La Rosa over Arizona and Davis in this MLB match up.

Bobby Maxwell

Boston at TEXAS -105
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Tonight's FREE winner comes from Arlington as we play the home-standing Rangers as they host the Red Sox.

I know the Red Sox have dominated the Rangers over the last few years, but things seemed to change back in early July when Texas went to Fenway Park and took two of three from Boston. Included in that series was a wonderful start from the Rangers' Kevin Millwood, also tonight's starter.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Millwood (8-7, 3.46 ERA) is an impressive 6-1 in front of the home fans with a 2.49 ERA. On June 5, he held the Red Sox to one unearned run in seven innings of the 5-1 Texas victory at Fenway. He hasn't pitched since July 11, so he's had plenty of time to get over his worst two starts of the season when he lost at the Angels and at the Mariners to end the first half.

John Smoltz (1-2, 5.40) is making just his fifth start with the Red Sox and he's given up five runs in two of the four outings with Boston going 1-3 in the four appearances.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Rangers are 20-7 in Millwood's last 27 home starts, 11-5 when he faces A.L. East teams and 7-1 when he opens a series.

The Red Sox got shut down Sunday by Roy Halladay and the Blue Jays, 3-1. While Millwood isn’t Halladay, he will hit his spots, especially at home.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
I love the way Millwood goes about his work. He'll keep Texas in it and the offense will do the rest and light up Smoltz. Play the Rangers.

Tampa Bay at WHITE SOX +105
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
We have now hit our last 5 comp plays, and are on a 61-47-4 overall comp play run.

For Monday night, stick with the home-cooking, and the White Sox as they entertain the Rays.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Tampa just swept the Royals in Kansas City, but needed to rally in all 3 of the games against the weak Royals' bullpen.

Not going to happen tonight against the White Sox and Gavin Floyd. Floyd pitched 7 strong frames back in April at Tampa in a win, and is 4-1 his last 7 starts for the Sox.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
David Price will counter, and his ERA is over 5 for his last 3 assignments.

Chicago won 3 of the 4 played earlier this year in Tampa, and they are 17-5 their last 22 home games played against the Rays.

Dominic Fazzini

Minnesota -125 at OAKLAND
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Nick Blackburn (8-4, 3.06 ERA) might be the most underrated pitcher in the American League this year.

The Twins right-hander has made quality starts in 13 of his 18 outings, including nine of the last 10. He has allowed more than four runs in a game just once this year, and has pitched less than six innings just twice.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Blackburn gave up four runs and nine hits in seven innings against the White Sox on July 10 in his last outing.

Left-hander Gio Gonzalez (1-2, 6.29) is scheduled to take the mound for the A’s. He was skipped in the rotation last week, but was solid in his most recent start, allowing two runs on six hits in six innings at Cleveland on July 5. Since then, he has pitched one inning of relief.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Gonzalez is 1-2 with a 5.52 ERA in three starts this year, and 0-2 with a 7.27 ERA in two home starts.

Blackburn is only 3-4 on the road, but his ERA is a respectable 3.41. He has lost his last two road starts, but received just three runs of support in those defeats.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The A’s have struggled to score runs all season, and are coming off a 10-inning 1-0 loss to the Angels on Sunday. Even though Minnesota has struggled on the road this season, it should be good enough to prevail today. Go with the Twins.

For Monday take Nick Blackburn and the Twins.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
In his first few seasons Nick Blackburn was very solid at the Metrodome and a different guy (not as good) on the road. Things this year though have changed a bit and the Minnesota righthander has been very very good everywhere.

The A's at home are always a team with potential but this season they are extremely mediocre at the very best and with Gio Gonzalez on the bump they better have their hitting shoes on if they are going to have any chance today. The Oakland lefthander at times is horrific and today against Mauer and Morneau may be in some trouble once again.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Gonzalez was 1-4 last season in the bigs with an ERA in the mid 7's and this season is 1-2 with an ERA in the mid 6's. Besides that last one inning, one run start he has fared a little better of late but not enough to make me believe that Gonzalez can truly put up enough resistance today against the Twinkies lineup to match Blackburn.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Look for another workmanlike effort from Ron Gardenhire's boys as they are just too sound in this spot overall. Blackburn goes a solid seven, Nathan grabs the 1-2-3 save and this thing ends 6-3!

I do like Atlanta. They are very solid offensively but wait they're facing Mr. No Hitter>> So what. The guy has a 5.09 ERA after his no hitter so that tells you how bad he was before the stars aligned and the wind was blowing in at home making all fly balls die. That's not the case in Atlanta, oh and did I mention that Mr. No No is a cool 0-7 on the road? He is... so get your tomahawks and lets all do "The Chop"

Take Under 9.5 between the Chicago Cubs @ Philadelphia Phillies
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Ted Lilly has been a bright spot in the Cubs rotation this year as he has produced a 3.18 era and 8 of 9 quality starts coming into this game. Rodrigo Lopez, the 33 year old from Tlalnepantla gets the ball again for the Phillies and he has produced quality starts both times out. He has helped the Phillies win both contests that he has pitched in and on average he is giving up about two runs over five to six innings. Both pitchers are sound right now and with a total of 9.5, I believe this game has a decent shot at going under as the under is 8-2-1 when Lilly starts against the NL East of late and the Under is 5-0-1 in the last six games the Phillies have faced a lefty.

1 Unit on Chicago White Sox +102
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
We'll back the Sox for 1 Unit tonight behind Floyd as they are 21-6 in Floyd's last 27 home starts and a perfect 6-0 in his last 6 starts as a home underdog. The Rays have been fool's gold as a road favorite as they are just 9-23 in their last 32 games as a road favorite and 4-13 in their last 17 games as a road favorite of -110 to -150. The Rays send Price to the hill and he has been less than impressive on the road with a 0-2 record and an ERA over 7.00. Expect these struggles to continue for Price tonight as the Sox have done their most damage at the plate against lefty starters this season.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
The Brewers have won 19 out of 20 against the Pirates the last two seasons in what is called in my opinion being dominated by a particular team. This season they are 5-0 against them winning by an average of 2.2 runs a game. The Pirates have played well at home this season and have been dreadful on the road. There problem is run support only averaging 4.2 runs a game this season. The Pirates have been struggling being 5-12 their last 17 games overall. The Brewers have not been world beaters by any means either lately being 5-7 their last 12 games. But with there domination of the Pirates it is worth a shot that they will continue their success against them. The pitching matchup is the same in this game and I feel that the Brewers should be able to pull off a win today.
