Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners
Play: Seattle Mariners
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Seattle as they play host to Toronto set to start at 10:10 EST. Supporting this graded play is a system that has gone an amazing 86-20 making 52.2 units since 1997 for 81% winners. Play on all favorites with a money line of -150 or more in the second half of the season and is a below average hitting team batting <=.265 facing a good starting AL pitcher sporting an ERA <=4.20. Here is a second system hitting 85% winners since 2003 for an 82-14 mark making 55.5 units. Play against road dogs with a money line of +150 or more and is a cold hitting team batting .250 or worse over their last 20 games facing an opponent with a hot starting pitcher sporting a WHIP <= 1.000 over his last 5 starts. Seattle is further reinforced by a supporting cast of angles. Note that they are 14-7 (+8.4 Units) against the money line versus AL teams allowing 4.7 or less runs/game on the season this season. Seattle starter Hernandez is also 15-4 (+9.9 Units) against the money line when the total is 7 to 8.5 this season. Hernandez is in top form posting a 1.57 ERA and 0.783 WHIP in his last 3 starts and is 11-3 with a 2.45 ERA for the season. He has thrown 23 innings allowed just 4 ER with ZERO home runs allowing 4 BB while recording 23 K’s spanning those 3 starts. Toronto starter Romero has had a solid season and will certainly be looking for a big pay raise off his league minimum 400K he is earning this season. Yet, fatigue is fast becoming an enemy for him. He has allowed 4 ER in 2 straight starts and since July, when his ERA was 2.85, is season ERA has steadily been on the climb. He has also thrown 100+ pitches in 9 of the last 11 starts. The 2 starts where he did not reach the century mark he still threw 93 and 99. Take Seattle.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Philadelphia Phillies at Arizona Diamondbacks
Prediction: Philadelphia Phillies
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Arizona was able to take three of four from Pittsburgh over the weekend including two shutout wins on Saturday and Sunday but now it faces a team that is actually playing well. The Diamondbacks are still just 23-31 at home on the season so the home field factor is not much of a factor at all. The Phillies come into this series on a two-game winning streak where they put up 23 combined runs on St. Louis. During their seven-game homestand, they averaged 7.4 rpg but hitting the road now should not slow them down. Philadelphia is 29-15 on the road this season which is the best road record in baseball and it is currently riding a three-game road winning streak. The Phillies average 5.6 rpg away from home and that is the best in baseball. Jamie Moyer takes the hill and he is having a very inconsistent season thus far but he could be in good shape to bounce back here. His road ERA is 4.38 which is nothing special but it is almost two and a half runs lower than it is at home. Six of his nine road starts have been quality outings so the majority of the time, he does have success in the opponents ballpark. In four career starts against Arizona, he is 2-1 with a 3.45 ERA and he faces a Diamondbacks offense that is hitting only .251. Taking the mound for Arizona is Jon Garland who is very similar to Moyer in that he struggles at home. In 10 road starts, Garland has a solid 2.67 ERA and 1.25 WHIP but in 10 home starts, he has a 6.33 ERA and 1.75 WHIP. Only half of his home starts have been quality performances which shows how inconsistent he has been. He has been very solid of late, tossing five straight quality games but he has only one win to show for it and Arizona is just 2-10 in his last 12 starts. The Phillies are 17-4 in their last 21 games as a favorite and they are 12-3 on the road as favorites of -125 or less this season. The Diamondbacks meanwhile are 0-5 in their last five games as a home underdog.

Prediction: Los Angeles Angels
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Saunders is 4-2 (Angels are 7-3) with a 3.86 ERA in 10 home starts. Pavano is 5-5 (Indians are 5-6) with a 5.17 ERA in 11 road starts. The Angels got pounded 10-1 yesterday. They'd previously won eight straight though. They're also a profitable 21-11 (+8.1) the past couple of seasons, after allowing double-digits in their previous game. Consider LA

LA DODGERS vs. CARDINALS
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Cardinals start their seven game home stand in hope it will help them regain the edge in the NL Central, and they'll start by giving the ball to Chris Carpenter. They face Los Angeles (62-36) who still holds an eight-game lead in the NL West after Sunday's 8-6 loss to Florida. manny didn"t play Sunday and will be out tonight with lingering soreness in his left hand after he was hit by a pitch Tuesday against Cincinnati.Albert Pujols has been in a rare slump, going 6 for 28 (.214) without an extra-base hit in his last seven games and St. Louis (53-48) has dropped five of seven on its road trip.Matt Holliday, acquired Friday from Oakland is 7 for 11 (.636) with four doubles and three RBIs in three games and will play his first home game tonight with his new club. The cardinals ace Carpenter (8-3, 2.26 ERA) has been dominate lately going 3-0 with a 1.86 ERA in four July starts and he is also 3-0 in four starts against the Los Angeles Dodgers.Randy Wolf (5-4, 3.45) will start for the Dodgers, and he's 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA in his last five starts although he hasn't won back-to-back starts all year. This is the first meeting of the year between these teams and the Dodgers have lost 14 of their last 17 games in St. Louis at Busch Stadiums old and new. This is a big game for the Cardinals who will be a big greeeting from the fans after playimng at home for the first time after the All-star Break. The fans will bring a spark with their ace Carpenter and the new big bat in the lineup with Holliday who has been hot at the plate.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The last time the Los Angeles Angels were shut down, they responded in a big way. They?ll try to recover from having their eight-game winning streak snapped when they start a three-game series Monday night against the Cleveland Indians. Los Angeles (58-39) saw its longest win streak of the season end with a 10-1 loss to Minnesota on Sunday. The Angels scored a total of 50 runs over their previous six games; look for a bounceback this evening. Joe Saunders is 2-0 with a 2.03 ERA in four career outings versus Cleveland. Hafner is 0 for 7 with three strikeouts against him. Look for the Indians to drop to 5-8 (-1.8 units) as a road dog of +125 to +150; play on the ANGELS!

PURE PROFETS

NY Yankees @ Tampa Bay Rays
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Have to get the pick up early today since I will be away from the computer tomorrow to do some scouting. The odds on this game seem way to low for 2 teams going in opposite directions. The Yankees have been on fire after the All Star break opening up a 6 1/2 game lead over the 3rd place Rays. The Rays have not been able to get some much needed wins as NY and Boston are showing that they are ready for the playoffs now.

Rock solid A.J. Burnett starts for the Yankees. He has won his last 5 games all against teams with winning records. He is in the form he needs to be in and will have little trouble shutting down a Rays offense that has had trouble putting runs up on the board as of late. The Yankee offense has truly been clicking especially Texiera who is showing why he deserves the money he is being paid.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Tampa Bay limps back home and gets to have James Shields on the mound but unfortunately for them he is on only 4 days of rest. He is 3 -7 in his last 10 with only 4 days rest. He definitely has not been the same dominant pitcher he was last year and now gets to face a team he has historically had trouble with. The Rays are 1 -7 in Shields last 8 starts vs. the Yankees.

Some Pure Profets trends:
-Yankees are 14-2 in their last 16 games vs. a right-handed starter.
-Yankees are 7-1 in their last 8 during game 1 of a series.
-Yankees are 12-2 in Burnett's last 14 starts as a favorite.
-Rays are 1-7 in Shields' last 8 starts vs. Yankees.

Lets ride the trends and make some money on a Monday

(953) Colorado Rockies -$153

(Listing Jimenez and Perez)

The Mets starting pitcher Oliver Perez just flat out
sucks. In his last start against the Nationals on
Tuesday night he took the loss to fall to 2-3 on the
season. Perez had horrible control as he walked
six batters in that game. He ended up allowing four
runs even though the Nationals had just four hits as
all the walks came back to haunt him. Perez has had
such a bad season that this game actually lower his
ERA to 7.68 on the year and his WHIP to 2.04 for the
season! The Rockies Ubaldo Jimenez has pitched
very well this season and is a star in the making.
Jimenez has nasty stuff and he actually pitches better
on the road than he does at home. I look for him to
take care of the depleted Mets lineup here.
Play on Colorado.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners
Play: Toronto Blue Jays
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
This pick falls into one of my top MLB systems and we are getting solid value here tonight with the better overall team. Felix Hernandez (11-3, 2.45 ERA) has pitched solid this season but the Jays are hitting .282 as a team on the road this season which is one of the majors top averages and Hernandez has pitched better away from home this season. The Jays are 7-1 in Ricky Romero's (8-4, 3.44) last 8 starts when pitching with just 4 days rest and he has an advantage against the Mariners because they have never faced him before. Seattle is just 8-25 in their last 32 games after allowing 10 or more runs in their previous game and the Jays are a perfect 4-0 in Romero's last 4 starts as an underdog. Romero has been very good at pitching himself out of trouble and I look for him to have a solid start tonight on the road. The Mariners are just 1-6 in their last 7 home games against a team that has a losing record on the road and they are hitting just .229 as a team over their last 7 games while averaging just 3.1 rpg. Take the Toronto Blue Jays Monday night.

Oakland Athletics vs. Boston Red Sox (MLB) - Jul 27, 2009 7:10 PM EDT
Play: Boston Red Sox -1.5
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
Tonight we are taking the Red Sox run line against the Oakland A's. Josh Becket has a 0.85ERA in his last three starts at home coming off a road start. He'll have extra stuff here tonight as he is on 5 days rest and the Red Sox are 7-0 in his last 7 starts on 5 days rest. Becket has struggled at times on the road with a 4.34ERA this year, but at home here tonight he is 6-0 with a 2.44 ERA. Oakland has just a .222 average vs. Becket and they are 1-6 in their last 7 vs. a RH starter. Trevor Cahill will take the mound for the A's and he has pitched much worse on the road with a 5.35ERA compared to his 4.04ERA at home. The book continues to get out on Cahill as he starts to make his 2nd start against teams such as Boston who he threw 5.1IP and gave up 4ER in a start earlier this season. Oakland is 8-22 in their last 30 trips to Boston and of their 31 losses on the road this season 74.9% have come by more than 1 run. Take the Sox on the run line.

KING CREOLE

3* PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES

HOT Phillies vs poor home underdog Diamondbacks equals Game One WIN.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
The Phillies have been priced in a reasonable manner since coming out of the play stoppage of the All-Star break. In eight of its nine games, Philadelphia has been a favorite of -130 or less. This run is a continuation of a trend that has been established for the entire month of July for the Phillies. In a strong sign that Philadelphia is a confident squad with plenty of swagger, the Phillies are beating up on mediocre opponents. From July 3 through July 23, Philly went 15-2 with nine of the victories coming by three runs or more. They've been outstanding as 'chalk' lately, going 17-4 in their last 21 FAVORITE roles.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
With southpaw JAMIE MOYER on the hill, there's B-I-G trouble in store for the hosts. Arizona is already 9-18 vs left-handed starters on the season (.239 team batting average)... including 6-14 'Under the Lights'. MOYER has actually done his BEST work on the road in the 2009 season. He's won TWICE as many road decisions as he has lost. Since the start of June, his ERA in road games is only 2.90 and the W/L record is 4-1. He's also done very well "In THIS Park".... going a PERFECT 2-0 on the road vs the D'Backs since the 2007 season. In the role as ROAD FAVORITE, he's gone a PERFECT 6-0 dating back to last season. Also 10-3 when pitching on 4 days rest... 24-8 in Game One of a series... and 20-7 vs LOSING teams.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
JON GARLAND enters tonight's game with a high ERA of 6.38 in his home starts so far in the 2009 season (opponents are hitting .383). He's in a great 'fade' position as he has gone 2-10 in his last 12 overall starts dating back to late May. He has performed poorly vs the Phillies, going 0-2 with an ERA of 9.90 in his two team starts. Garland is also a very POOR Underdog, going 1-10 in his last 11 DOG roles. His Diamondback teammates are a PERFECT 0-5 in their last 5 roles as a home underdog... 1-4 in their last 5 vs southpaws... and 1-4 when playing off a win.

Washington + over Milwaukee
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVlCE PLAYS VlSlT THESPREAD.COM
Jeff Suppan has had big problems at Miller Park, going 1-5 with a 6.12 ERA. Suppan has not been a reliable pitcher for Milwaukee and he allowed four or more runs in four of his last six outings. In 109 innings Suppan has struck out just seven more batters than he has walked. The Milwaukee bullpen has also ran into trouble of late including a 5.81 ERA over the last ten games. As a result the Brewers are just 7-14 in the last 21 games. Washington has now won four of the last six games and the offense is picking up a bit of momentum. Washington has actually been a much better hitting team in road games and although the Nats have not won many road games the Brewers are just a game above .500 at home this season. Craig Stammen has made four straight quality starts and owns very respectable numbers this season despite a 3-5 record. Stammen owns a 2.61 ERA in his road starts and a 2.42 ERA in his last three starts.
