JEFF BENTON

Your Saturday freebie is the Braves-Red Sox game to stay Under the total.

Seems like a pretty big total to me tonight at Fenway Park, especially when you consider that last night's game held Under the total, as have the last four and five of the last six when these teams have matched up in interleague play.

Atlanta is currently on a 7-1 Under run, and an overall 10-3 Under clip their last 13 games played.

Boston is riding a 9-5-1 Under roll their last 15 games played, and tonight they will try and muster some offense against Randall Delagdo who has been throwing quite well for the Braves.

Delgado sports a 2.79 ERA for this last three trips to the mound, and each of those three starts has stayed Under the total, as have 8 of his 12 overall starts this season.

Franklin Morales looked steady in his first start, allowing just two runs over his five innings pitched.

They may score a few runs tonight, but not enough to get this one Over the total.

Braves-Red Sox to go Under.

DOM CHAMBERS

Let’s look at the San Francisco Giants to beat the Oakland A’s.

The Giants are starting Madison Bumgarner, who is 8-4 with a 2.92 ERA. In his last three starts, he is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA. He has been on a tear lately.

The Giants offense should get a jolt as the A’s are starting Tyson Ross, who is 2-6 with a 6.11 ERA. In his last three starts, it gets even worse, as he is 0-2 with a 7.05 ERA.

The Giants rallied Friday for the win against the A’s.

This spot, the Giants should be in the driver’s seat earlier in the game.

The A’s have been a hot team. Prior to Friday, they had won eight of nine games. But falter late Friday may signal a change of fortunes for the A’s.
Baseball is a game of streaks and now, they could be cooling off.

The Giants have the pitching and this is not a good spot for the A’s in the rotation.

Take the Giants.

Dodgers @ Angels
PICK: Under 7.5

Yesterday's series opener was high-scoring. The Angels rallied for an 8-5 victory. The Dodgers' previous four games had all fallen below the total though. Given the last outing from both starters and given their past history against today's opponent, I feel that this one has a good chance of being low-scoring.

Capuano is off another gem. He allowed just one run through eight complete innings, striking out 12 White Sox batters along the way. He didn't factor in the decision but the Dodgers won by a score of 2-1. For the season, he's 8-2 with a stellar 2.71 ERA and 1.135 WHIP. Nine of his 14 starts have fallen below the total.

Santana's numbers aren't good. However, he was dominant last time out. In fact, he tossed a complete game 1-hit shutout. It doesn't get much better than that. So, he should bring plenty of confidence to the table here. That game finished with a score of 2-0.

Santana's lone 2011 start vs. the Dodgers finished with a score of 3-1. Santana allowed one run through 7 2/3 innings. He had eight K's with one walk, allowing just six hits. Five of his seven starts in the series have fallen below the total.

Capuano's last start vs. the Angels finished with a score of 3-2. Both his career starts against them have stayed beneath the number.

Even with yesterday's result, the 'under' is still a lucrative 23-10 when the Angels have faced a team with a winning record. Consider the Under.

Los Angeles Dodgers +136

We're getting the Los Angeles Dodgers at a great price Saturday. Chris Capuano doesn't get the respect he deserves from oddmakers. I'll gladly take him at this price against the Los Angeles Angels tonight.

The Dodgers are 42-29, and Capuano is 8-2 with a 2.71 ERA and 1.136 WHIP in 14 starts. He's up against Ervin Santana, who is 4-7 with a 5.16 ERA and 1.337 WHIP in 14 starts.

The Dodgers are 10-1 against the money line when playing on Saturday this season. The Dodgers are 5-0 in Capuano's last 5 starts with 5 days of rest. The Angels are 1-6 in Santana's last 7 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Bet the Dodgers Saturday.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Miami Marlins
Play: Miami Marlins

Miami is 68-50 versus left handed starters the last 3 seasons.Toronto currently 2-6 as road underdog of +125 to +150.Miami starter Johnson is 2-0 versus Toronto. It has been a horrible month of June for Miami but i expect them to get the win with their ace on the hill.

Dodgers / Angels Over 7.5

They're giving way too much credit to both starting pitchers and not nearly enough to these offenses. The Angels had been hammering LHP lately, and the Dodgers WILL score of Santana. I usually look to fade him whenever possible, simply because he's a one man home run derby at times, meaning he SHOULD make a mistake or two in this game. Because both teams used significant amounts of their pen last night, there's the likelihood that the flood gates could well open up if one of these guys gets in trouble. I was/am very close to making THIS a 3* play as well. Night games in LA are tough to take the over, which is one reason this is only 7.5, but there's a slight breeze blowing out and these are just NOT the two most elite starters. And given that this is a 4:15 start time, they'll get it all in before shadows become any issue. I get what the Angels pens has done lately, but we're only looking for eight runs in an AL game with two potentially potent offenses.

Reds -1.5

Lay the 1.5 runline here gents. Love the Reds with Cueto on the hill today at home, they should win by 3+ runs in my opinion. The Reds have won 9 out of his last 10 home starts. The Twins starter today is not the best scenario for them and the team is 1-7 in Duensing's last 8 starts including dumping his last 4 on the road.
