The Mets RA Dickey is making a great case for comeback player of the year. The ligamentless knuckleballer has carried the Mets on his back this summer coming from nowhere to post 8-5 record with a 2.43 ERA and should have more wins in the bank with any type of run supports and a little help from his friends in the pen. Bret Myers (8-7, 3.13) has been super on a rotten Astros club all year and has arguably been the best starter in baseball this summer. Rewarded with sweet deal last month, he continues to pitch great. With these offenses, the first one to three wins here. Play the Under.

No question the Indians put the better starter on the hill tonight. Carmona is a solid 6-3 with an ERA of 3.30 on the road this season. Compare that to Chen's 5.40 home ERA. Plus, the Indians are 7-2 in Carmona's last 9 starts vs. the Royals and 4-1 in his last 5 road starts vs. KC. The Royals are just 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win, and I'll go against them here.

Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals
Prediction: Cleveland Indians

Kansas City defeated Cleveland by a 2-1 score last night -- but they have lost four of their last five games coming off a loss. The Royals send out Bruce Chen with his 7-6 record along with a 4.50 ERA and 1.47 WHIP this season. And Chen does not enjoy a home field advantage given his 5.10 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and .295 opponent's batting average at home this season. Furthermore, he has a high 9.00 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and .333 opponent's batting average in 14 innings of work over his career against the Indians. He faces off against Fausto Carmona with his 11-10 mark along with a 3.87 ERA and 1.35 WHIP this year. Carmona is actually more effective on the road this season given his 3.30 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and .256 opponent's batting average. The Indians have won seven of their last nine games against the Royals with Carmona on the hill. Furthermore, Cleveland has won six of their last eight games with Carmona facing off against a team with a losing record.

Cincinnati Reds @ Diamondbacks
PICK: Cincinnati Reds

The Reds won 6-2 last night in Arizona, giving them their fourth straight win. It's a nice "bounce back" for the team which was swept in a three-game home series by the Cards early last week. Beating the D'backs again will not exactly be 'news.' The Reds have won 14 of their last 17 games vs the D'backs, including winning their last six games here in Arizona (outscoring them 37-14). What should change tonight? Edinson Volquez makes his sixth start of 2010, after returning from Tommy John surgery on July 17. Volquez allowed just one ER (9 Ks) in his first start back vs Colorado but lasted a total of only six innings in his next two, allowing 11 hits and 10 ERs. However, the right-hander who was an All Star back in 2008 (17-6, 3.21 ERA) is 2-0 with a 1.53 ERA over his last three starts (team is 3-0). He'll be opposed by Rodrigo Lopez, who has made 24 starts in 2010, after missing all of 2008 and then appearing in just seven games (five starts) for the Phillies last year (3-1, 5.70 ERA). Lopez is just 5-11 (4.93 ERA) in 2010 (team is 9-15) and is winless since winning back on July 8 (0-4 / team is 1-5 / 6.69 ERA). What changes here? Nothing. Take the Reds.
