SAN DIEGO @ COLORADO | 06/17 | 8:40 PM EDT
SAN DIEGO -135
ANALYSIS: This number has dropped more than 20 cents since Larry picked, and I honestly have no idea why but now I have to take it even though Padres rookie MacKenzie Gore -- the NL Rookie of the Year favorite -- was roughed up by Colorado at home last time out. The southpaw had been great otherwise in his previous four outings. His counterpart, Kyle Freeland, is 1-3 with a 5.35 ERA at home. The Rockies are in a free-fall overall.

L.A. ANGELS @ SEATTLE | 06/17 | 10:10 PM EDT
SEATTLE -130
ANALYSIS: The Angels just haven’t been able to hit lately and that’s despite getting all their top bats in the lineup. They won 4-1 last night but all four runs were off Mike Trout home runs, he’s the only one hitting right now (what else is new). The Mariners sat Ty France yesterday who is their best hitter, so it is understandable why they couldn’t score. Robbie Ray is much better at home at 2-2 with a 3.13 ERA and he is coming off his best start of the season against a Red Sox team that is crushing lefties (4th in the league in the past month in wOBA). The Angels are actually ranked second worst in the league against lefties in the past month with these bullpens about equal. I like the Mariners at home.
ST. LOUIS @ BOSTON | 06/17 | 7:10 PM EDT
BOSTON -120
ANALYSIS: I think this is a good spot to fade Adam Wainwright as he has been pitching very well lately. However, most of those games have been against bad lineups or at home. The Red Sox should have much more success against Wainwright as they’ve been crushing right-handed pitching, and they usually have success against the soft throwing righties, outside of Paul Blackburn yesterday because he’s just been dominating everyone. The Red Sox bullpen has been very good the past month ranked fifth in the league while the Cardinals bullpen is ranked 19th. Michael Wacha’s changeup should be effective against the lefties in the Cardinals lineup. I like the Red Sox at home.
ATLANTA @ CHI. CUBS | 06/17 | 2:20 PM EDT
ATLANTA -180
ANALYSIS: Im not gonna overthink this one, especially on what is usually a straight up day of the week in Friday. The Cubs have now lost 10 games in a row while the Braves have now won 14 games in a row. Sure, both teams are due but getting the Braves under -200 here is a gift. Charlie Morton has definitely been struggling a bit but he will figure it out sooner than later and the Braves have the third ranked bullpen in the league in the past month. The Cubs also tend to struggle against righties with all their right-handed batters. The Cubs are also ranked dead last in bullpen ERA in the past month. Keegan Thompson has been struggling even more pitching 3.2 total innings over his last two starts while allowing 10 ER. Take the Braves.

SAN DIEGO @ COLORADO | 06/17 | 8:40 PM EDT
SAN DIEGO -157
ANALYSIS: The Rockies have dropped seven in a row at home while playing shoddy defense. They lead the majors with 54 errors. Now they welcome a Padres team that's committed the fewest errors in MLB (23). San Diego is 24-11 on the road and coming off a four-game sweep at Wrigley. Padres starter MacKenzie Gore (4-2, 2.50 ERA) suffered his worst start of the season last time out vs. Colorado, allowing six earned runs in 2.1 innings. I like the rookie to bounce back strong and the Padres to win for their ninth time in 11 games.

ATLANTA @ CHI. CUBS | 06/17 | 2:20 PM EDT
ATLANTA -1.5
ANALYSIS: The Braves are on fire. They have won 14 straight games and 13 of those 14 wins came by at least two runs. Now they get to face the Cubs who have lost 10 straight with nine of those losses coming by two runs or more. The Braves should put up enough runs against Keegan Thompson and the Cubs bullpen to easily cover this run line. Laying the extra line at -110.

Cubs +1.5 (4%)

MLB Sharp Action
6:05 p.m. ET: Tampa Bay Rays (35-28) at Baltimore Orioles (28-37)
The Rays just got swept by the Yankees in a three-game series in New York. On the flip side, the Orioles just hung tough and split a four-game series on the road against Toronto. In tonight's AL East division series opener, Tampa Bay hands the ball to righty Shane Baz (0-1, 19.29 ERA) and Baltimore starts fellow righty Dean Kremer (1-1, 3.86 ERA). This line opened with the Rays listed as a -135 road favorite and the Orioles a +115 home dog. Sharps are buying low on the Rays after losing three straight, steaming Tampa Bay up from -135 to -145. Favorites off a loss who made the playoffs last year are 124-64 (66%) this season. The Rays are 28-15 as a favorite and 26-21 against righties. The Orioles are 25-35 as a dog and 16-25 against righties. Tampa Bay is 4-2 against Baltimore this season. The Rays are +18 in run differential. The Orioles are -40.
7:05 p.m. ET: San Francisco Giants (35-27) at Pittsburgh Pirates (25-37)
The Giants are 8-4 over their last 12 games, having just taken two of three at home against the Royals. Conversely, the Pirates are 1-9 over their last ten games and just lost three of four at home against the Cardinals. In tonight's series opener, San Francisco starts lefty Carlos Rodon (5-4, 3.18 ERA) and Pittsburgh counters with righty Zach Thompson (3-4, 4.50 ERA). This line opened with the Giants listed as a -190 road favorite and the Pirates a +175 home dog. Wiseguys aren't scared off by the big chalk and have steamed the Giants up from -190 to -200. Non-division road favorites are 125-60 (68%) this season. When both teams are coming off a day off, as is the case here, the favorite is 53-26 (67%). San Francisco also has correlative betting value as a big favorite in a low total game (7.5). The Giants are 29-19 as a favorite, 16-13 on the road and 23-21 against righties. The Pirates are 18-30 as a dog, 13-17 at home and 9-13 against lefties. San Francisco is hitting .239 while Pittsburgh is hitting .220. The Giants are +40 in run differential. The Pirates are -101.
8:40 p.m. ET: San Diego Padres (41-24) at Colorado Rockies (27-37)
The Padres are 11-3 over their last 14 games and just swept the Cubs in a four-game series on the road. Meanwhile, the Rockies are 4-10 over their last 14 games and just got swept by the Guardians at home. In tonight's series opener, San Diego hands the ball to rookie lefty Mackenzie Gore (4-2, 2.50 ERA) and the Rockies counter with veteran southpaw Kyle Freeland (2-5, 4.39 ERA). This line opened with the Padres listed as a -145 road favorite and the Rockies a +125 home dog. Pros aren't outsmarting themselves on this one. They're riding the better, hotter team, steaming San Diego up from -145 to -155. Road favorites are 220-125 (64%) this season. San Diego has the far better pitching staff, sporting a team ERA of 3.32 compared to Colorado's 5.01. The Padres are 26-15 as favorites, 24-11 on the road and 16-6 against lefties. The Rockies are 18-30 as dogs, 16-19 at home and 10-12 against lefties. San Diego is +74 in run differential. Colorado is -69.
