ANALYSIS: My model says the Braves win in over 60 percent of the simulations, so you're getting strong value with them at this number. Atlanta trailed New York by 10 1/2 games in the NL East at the beginning of June but has gone 29-8 since to reduce the deficit to 1 1/2. Braves LHP Max Fried hasn't lost since his second start of the season on Apr. 13 and worked six strong innings in a win against the Mets in May. Take the Braves.

SAN DIEGO @ COLORADO | 07/11 | 8:40 PM EDT
COLORADO 130
ANALYSIS: The Padres are 4-10 in their last 14 games while the Rockies are 7-8 in their last 15, but they are 4-2 at home. CJ Cron could be out again for the Rockies, but they have Kris Bryant back in the lineup and he is hitting. They are also the fifth best team in the league in wOBA against lefties in the past 30 days, and they face Sean Manaea tonight. He is coming off one of his worst starts of the season and he has been more hit or miss lately. Jose Urena has only made one start this season, so he is the biggest question mark, but he did pitch a quality start against the Dodgers in that one game. The Rockies are also 5-2 against the Padres this season including 3-0 at home. I like the value in the Rockies at home.
N.Y. METS @ ATLANTA | 07/11 | 7:20 PM EDT
ATLANTA -130
ANALYSIS: The Braves are the second-best team in the league in the past 30 days at 20-8 and that includes 12-4 at home. The Mets are just 14-12 in that span and 5-5 on the road. The Braves are only 1.5 games back of the Mets for the NL East and I wouldn’t be surprised if that flips this series. The Braves have been playing very well and probably circled this series a while ago. They have Max Fried starting and he is 4-0 with a 1.75 ERA in his last 7 games, and 9-0 with a 2.15 ERA in his last 15 games. We all know Max Scherzer and he will probably be good but he has also only made one start off the IL so I wouldn’t expect anything like a complete game. The Braves bullpen has been much better lately and Edwin Diaz has also pitched each of the past two days. I like the Braves at home.

ST. LOUIS 105
ANALYSIS: The Cardinals look for a split in this four-game series. Philadelphia is ranked 28th in defensive runs saved (-21), while St. Louis is tied for seventh (+30). With an expected low-scoring game, let's take the better defensive squad as a home underdog. The Phillies will be traveling to Canada after this game. Lots of distractions. Take St. Louis.

UNDER 7.5
ANALYSIS: Max Scherzer was his dominant self in his return from an oblique strain last time out, going six scoreless innings versus Cincinnati with no walks and 11 strikeouts. Max Fried has been just as dominant, allowing two runs or fewer in eight of his last 10 starts and one run or fewer in six of his last eight starts. Both Maxs are in the top 10 pitchers in the MLB.

ATLANTA -130
ANALYSIS: Max Scherzer is clearly good enough to win this himself for the Mets, but they are without three regulars in All-Stars Starling Marte and Jeff McNeil and catcher James McCann due to injury/paternity list. McCann hasn't done much this year but no Marte and McNeil is big. All-Star closer Edwin Diaz probably isn't available. Atlanta's Max Fried (9-2, 2.52 ERA) can go toe-to-toe with Scherzer as the lefty and first-time All-Star has allowed two earned or fewer in eight of his past nine. For some odd reason, the Braves are starting Robinson Cano at second after picking him up off waivers. Apparently they don't realize this isn't 2017 when Cano was good. Maybe he'll punish one of his former teams tonight ... and maybe I'll grow gills and become The Deep. Doubtful on both. The Braves have won four straight series openers. New York has lost four in a row vs. teams with a winning record. The Under 7.5 runs is tempting as well.
BOSTON @ TAMPA BAY | 07/11 | 7:10 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY +1.5
ANALYSIS: Rafael Devers is out again for the Red Sox so that's my main reasoning for taking the Rays +1.5 even at a pricy -175 -- I'm not sure they should be home overall underdogs, so I see this as a gift. Rookie Brayan Bello is on the mound for Boston and the Rays hit him around a bit last Wednesday at Fenway in his debut. It also might be a bit of a letdown game after a highly-charged series with the Yankees, and we've said numerous times that teams traveling off Sunday Night Baseball hugely struggle on Monday this year. Tampa will use Matt Wisler as an opener apparently and then Josh Fleming in a bulk role. I don't love Fleming or I'd take Tampa Bay -110 to win outright.

PITTSBURGH @ MIAMI | 07/11 | 6:40 PM EDT
MIAMI -160
ANALYSIS: This is an interesting matchup because both teams will have multiple top relievers unavailable, so it will kind of be a battle of the bullpen depth with neither of these starters getting deep into games either. David Bednar, Will Crowe, and Duane Underwood Jr. all pitched each of the last two days and three of the last four days. It’s possible we see them tonight, but I highly doubt it for the young team that has nothing to gain by forcing them in there for an extra win. The Marlins had both Tanner Scott and Anthony Bass pitch each of the last three nights so they should both be unavailable. The Pirates are 12-18 in their last 30 and 5-12 on the road in that time and they are 16-27 on the road overall. The Marlins are much better at home at 20-17 and they are 9-6 in their last 15 games. Brian Reynolds was also just added to the IL. Take the Marlins at home.
