Rotation #963
Rangers -110 over Orioles
Dunning/Kremer
Neither team is in striking distance of making the playoffs, but the Orioles are not a good baseball team. Dean Kremer has not pitched much for the Orioles. Kremer has been decent in his limited work but is not a great career pitcher and should let up runs today. Texas is a better club and should win on the road. Take the Rangers.

N.Y. METS @ CINCINNATI | 07/04 | 6:40 PM EDT
CINCINNATI +1.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Reds cover the spread in 60 percent of the simulations, so you're getting strong value with them at this number. Cincinnati halted its four-game losing streak with a 4-3 walk-off triumph against Atlanta on Sunday. New York has won by two or more runs just once in its last six contests. Mets RHP Taijuan Walker has a higher ERA on the road (3.30) than at home (1.86) this year and was tagged for five runs over five innings in his only career start versus the Reds. Take Cincinnati +1.5 runs at -120.

TORONTO @ OAKLAND | 07/04 | 9:07 PM EDT
OAKLAND +1.5
ANALYSIS: The Blue Jays played five straight against the Rays and now travel to the West Coast. Seems like a flat spot to me. I'll back the A's plus 1.5 runs at +110.

CHI. CUBS @ MILWAUKEE | 07/04 | 4:10 PM EDT
MILWAUKEE -145
ANALYSIS: And we're back! Just needed a Sunday off to clear my head a bit -- and glad I did with all the favorites losing on Sunday. Probably will skip the sabbath the rest of the season. Milwaukee pitcher Eric Lauer hasn't been great of late, but he has been much better at home this year with a 2.25 ERA, and when he faced the Cubs on April 30 in Beer Town, he allowed one run with 11 Ks over seven innings. Chicago is 1-4 in its past five vs. a lefty. Former NL MVP Christian Yelich is rolling for the Brewers with a 12-game hitting streak. Cubs southpaw Justin Steele is 0-2 with a 7.29 road ERA. Yelich has good splits off Steele, so perhaps consider a hitting prop on him. Milwaukee has won four straight vs. lefties.

FEATURED PICK
KANSAS CITY @ HOUSTON | 07/04 | 4:10 PM EDT
HOUSTON -1.5
ANALYSIS: The Astros have been bloodying the rest of the league for a while. The only two games they've lost in the last three weeks were fluky types to the team with the best record in baseball. They just outscored the Angels by 17 runs in three games. Starter Jake Odorizzi is going well and the bullpen isn't overworked. Royals starter Jonathan Heasley has issues with walks and gives up the occasional longball, so it's the recipe for a blowout here. Take the Astros on the run line -1.5 (-118).

TEXAS @ BALTIMORE | 07/04 | 1:05 PM EDT
BALTIMORE -109
ANALYSIS: The Orioles sputtered toward the end of their road trip, but it was overall a successful trip and it was long. They now return to Camden where they are 18-17 this season while starting pitcher Dean Kremer has been great to this point and the Rangers are resting a few starters. It's possibly an anomaly, but it also might be worth mention the Rangers have gone 4-12 in Dane Dunning starts this season and that includes having lost his last eight.

ST. LOUIS @ ATLANTA | 07/04 | 7:20 PM EDT
ATLANTA -1.5
ANALYSIS: Last season, the Braves dominated the Cardinals, winning six of their seven meetings. After losing to Cincinnati on Sunday, this should be a great bounce-back spot for Atlanta. When the Cardinals are road underdogs with Dakota Hudson pitching this year, they are 0-4. Take the Braves -1.5 runs at +110.

MINNESOTA @ CHI. WHITE SOX | 07/04 | 8:10 PM EDT
MINNESOTA 110
ANALYSIS: The White Sox are coming off a three-game sweep at San Francisco. They travel back home to take on AL Central-leading Minnesota. Being at home with RHP Johnny Cueto on the mound doesn’t mix. In four home starts, he is winless and has received little run support. Take the Twins as road underdogs.

FEATURED PICK

CLEVELAND @ DETROIT | 07/04 | 1:10 PM EDT
CLEVELAND -140
ANALYSIS: Zach Plesac has been very good lately pitching six straight quality starts, and I think he should continue to have success against a Tigers team that struggles to score. He was 1-1 with a 2.10 ERA in June. Garrett Hill will be making his Major League debut for the Tigers and he is their 22nd ranked prospect. He doesn’t throw it harder than the low 90s, yet he manages to just rack up strikeouts and groundballs because of his splitter. Anyone who throws low 90s with the type of strikeout numbers he had in the minors should have a successful career, but this is also his first Major League start. His heart should be beating a million miles per hour and that usually leads to missed spots and an overthrown splitter. Both teams have very good bullpens if they get the lead but I like the Guardians in Game 1 because of the starting pitching and lineup advantages.

ST. LOUIS @ ATLANTA | 07/04 | 7:20 PM EDT
ATLANTA -170
ANALYSIS: We’ve all heard about how poorly teams coming off Sunday Night Baseball have played this season, and we saw that trend continue last week with the Dodgers losing in Colorado after playing on SNB. The Cardinals are coming off SNB last night and they face one of the hottest teams in the league in the Braves who have won 20 of their last 27 games. Ronald Acuna Jr. also returned to the lineup recently. Kyle Wright has been very consistent all season and he is coming off a very good start against the Phillies. He was 5-1 with a 3.52 ERA in June. Dakota Hudson has been very hit or miss this season, but he has been much worse on the road just like the Cardinals. He is 2-3 with a 4.57 ERA this season on the road and the Cardinals are actually under .500 at 20-21 on the road. I like the Braves at home here.

TEXAS @ BALTIMORE | 07/04 | 1:05 PM EDT
BALTIMORE -110
ANALYSIS: The Rangers are resting two key players today in Jonah Heim and Kole Calhoun, both have been hot lately. The Orioles have all their regulars in on the other hand. Both teams traveled last night and are now playing a day game so if anything, I think it’s mostly a wash there. Dean Kremer has been outstanding this season in the five starts he has made. He hasn’t allowed a run in his past 18.2 IP. The Orioles were playing very well before yesterday despite their four-game losing streak. The Orioles are much better at home at 18-17 and I know it sounds weird, but this is actually a big series for both these teams after neither was even sniffing the playoffs last season. I like the Orioles here at home.
