MIAMI 130
ANALYSIS: Miami has been playing tight games all week. In fact, they have played the most one-run games in MLB, going 16-20. Three of the four games against the Pirates ended with one-run winning margins, and so did the opener against Philly. Both of these teams allow an average of 4.2 runs per game, and the Phillies score just under half a run more. The Marlins still have a winning record at home, and the SportsLine Projection Model has them winning in 50 percent of simulations. At plus-money, they have excellent value.

ANALYSIS: The Mariners have won 13 straight and I’m betting them to win again. Stepping up at the right time for Seattle has been RHP Chris Flexen, who has won four consecutive starts. He’s allowed just one run over the last two outings and is showing consistency for the first time this season after a magical 2021. The Rangers have lost three in a row overall and each of the last four starts by RHP Glenn Otto, who has allowed 16 runs in that span. Take the Mariners to win.
N.Y. METS @ CHI. CUBS | 07/17 | 2:20 PM EDT
N.Y. METS -140
ANALYSIS: The top reason to bet this game is kicking the Cubs while they’re down. Chicago has lost nine straight contests and is likely to lose again before winning. At the same time, the Mets have won four in a row and gained loads of confidence by taking two of three from hard-charging Atlanta prior to this series. New York LHP David Peterson has allowed three runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. Take the Mets to win.

MILWAUKEE @ SAN FRANCISCO | 07/17 | 4:05 PM EDT
SAN FRANCISCO -145
ANALYSIS: The Brewers have lost 7 of 10 while the Giants have won 6 of 8. Logan Webb has a 1.38 ERA in his last 7 starts and he has pitched 6 straight quality starts. Ashby has really struggled lately, and he doesn’t get deep. The Giants are now the 5th best team in the league in wOBA last 30 days against lefties after being pretty much shutdown by Eric Lauer yesterday. The Brewers bullpen has also really struggled lately, and they lost on a game losing balk last night. I like the Giants to stay hot.
SEATTLE @ TEXAS | 07/17 | 2:35 PM EDT
SEATTLE -135
ANALYSIS: The Mariners have now won 13 in a row and they are 22-6 in their last 28 games overall. I see no reason not to ride them out until the ASB. Glen Otto pitched 5 IP allowing 2 ER against the Mariners earlier this season to pick up one of the Rangers two wins over the Mariners this season, but he has really struggled lately with 15 ER in his last 15.1 IP. Chris Flexen has allowed more than 3 ER just twice this season and the Mariners have had the best bullpen in the league while the Rangers are 22nd in the past 30 days. The Mariners are 7-2 against the Rangers this season.
