LOUIS CARDINALS (LIST Wainwright) - Okay, so here's my problem ... the original plan was to have Hill start the early game and to have Zambrano toe the rubber against Wainwright in the nightcap on national television.But then Lou Pinella opts against it, and switches his two starters for the day, putting his ace on the hill in the first game (scratching my temple), hmmm. I don't get it.Perhaps it's because Zambrano has been drilled by the Redbirds the last three times he's faced them, giving up 24 earned runs in those starts, spanning just 13 innings of work.Perhaps it's because he is 0-2 in his last six starts leading up to this one.Whatever the case, he didn't want him pitching on national television against Wainwright and being embarrassed ... or, embarrassing the Cubs any further against their arch-rival. So how come I am not going against Chicago in the early game? Well, I want the Cardinals to soften Zambrano up, get to the bullpen and get motivated for the nightcap on ESPN.Then I bank on Wainwright, who is 3-0 in his last five starts against Chicago, having allowed just nine earned runs over 33 innings in those games. The St. Louis right-hander is going for his 10th win of the season, and should be in a comfort zone on the road, where he is 6-1 this season.He comes in on a 4-1 run in his last six starts, in which he's boasting a rather respectable 2.64 ERA.I'm taking Wainwright here, as he'll dominate this lineup and secure the win.

Really like the Yankees not to get swept in this spot here. I mean, the Angels are playing without their two best full time players, Torii Hunter and Vlad, and I just think that this Yankees team is good enough to get one game behind their ace today. Yesterday is what I refer to as a "peak game" for the Halos as they put up those huge offensive numbers. But that also puts them in a prime letdown spot today. I am a big John Lackey guy, but he's been iffy for the last month or so. I think that New York gets to him, pushes his pitch count, and then wins it against a vulnerable Angels bullpen.

Josh Johnson is the type of dominator that will knock the D-Backs off their perch a bit. Arizona has fluked its way to a solid close to the first half of the year, but they still suck. Really. Arizona is bad. And Florida is scrappy like this. I think that they scratch out a pair of late runs against a suspect Arizona 'pen and they take a split in this series.

This is a system I tabbed earlier in the year but then haven't gone after. This is the last game of Atlanta's three-city, 10-game road trip. Teams lose their last game of an extended road trip nearly 70 percent of the time. Kris Medlen is kind of a "feel" pitcher. And I don't think that the rookie is going to enjoy his first day in Coors Field. It's worth a dabble here, and I think that the moneyline number is kind of an indicator here. Seems kind of high for Jason Hammel.

Similar situation here to Tampa Bay. What we’re doing here is chasing on the Cardinals and the ‘under’ today in Wrigley. I don’t think that the Cubs will take a sweep and I don’t see both games going ‘over’. So what we’re doing is betting on the Cardinals and the ‘under’ in Game 1. If we win both then we’re not betting Game 2. If the Cards win and it goes ‘over’, then we will just bet the ‘under’ in Game 2, and vice versa if the Cubs win Game 1 and the game goes ‘under’. Again, if this is too much then don’t play anything in this group. But the bottom line is that after researching the matchup I don’t see a high-scoring Cubs sweep today. I am backing the Dodgers as my Sunday Magnum Shot Selection. Are you kidding me? The Dodgers are a nice $130 Underdog to the Brewers? Even with the Brewers winning on Saturday they have only beat the Dodgers 18 of the last 54 meetings for a 33% Winning Percentage!
