At 1:35pm our member selection is on the Tampa Bay Rays over the Oakland Athletics. Heading into the break, there are many questions facing this Oakland ball club. Will one-time All-Star Matt Holliday ever return to the type of form that made him one of the most feared hitters in baseball over the past three seasons? And, despite being a starter and not recording a single save throughout his three-year minor league career, is young righthander (and first-time All-Star) Andrew Bailey the answer to Oakland's closer woes since the loss of Huston Street and season-ending surgery to Joey Devine? Of course, neither of those issues are going to be resolved in today's game, and here, Oakland is going to have to face one of the best home pitchers in Tampa's James Shields. Once again, as in just about every recent season, Shields is tearing it up at the Trop, having gone 4-2 with a sparkling ERA of 2.99.
