ANALYSIS: Thursday game. Vancouver might be flat after its wild-card hopes took a near death-blow with Tuesday's crushing 4-3 home shootout loss to Ottawa. The Canucks remain very banged up, too, with the likes of Bo Horvat and Tanner Pearson out and fellow forward Alex Chiasson in question. That's a lot of offense. Minnesota is in the playoffs but trying to finish second in the Central. The Wild have one home loss since mid-March and are 2-0 vs. the Nucks this season.

ANALYSIS: The big question mark surrounding this game is the status of Luka Doncic (calf), who is officially listed as questionable. He didn’t play in either of the first two games of the series, but it’s still tied at one game apiece. Jalen Brunson exploded for 41 points to help the Mavericks win Game 2, and even Game 1 was close considering they lost by just six points. If Doncic plays, they could win Game 3 outright. If he sits, I still think the Mavericks can keep things close. It’s also worth noting that the Jazz are just 17-22-1 ATS as home favorites.

ANALYSIS: The Grizzlies went into this series as heavy favorites, but surprisingly lost Game 1. They rebounded in Game 2, blowing out the Timberwolves by 28 points. A key adjustment that they made in Game 2 was only playing Steven Adams three minutes. The Timberwolves play at a fast pace and have big men who often play outside the three-point line, so this is not a good matchup for him. With the expectation that they continue to play Brandon Clarke, and maybe even Xavier Tillman, more, I think the Grizzlies will re-take homecourt advantage with a win in this game.

ANALYSIS: Zach Plesac pitched well in both of his starts this season, but the Guardians used all their top bullpen arms in getting the sweep of the doubleheader yesterday. They also played all their regulars in both games, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see a player or two get the day off. The White Sox were able to save all their top bullpen arms and they rested all their starters yesterday. Dylan Cease has been very good this season and I think the White Sox will come out strong after their terrible day yesterday. I like the White Sox to salvage the series.

ANALYSIS: Michael Pineda will be called up for the Tigers to make his first start of the season today against Jordan Montgomery. The Tigers actually hit lefties a lot better ranked 10th in the league in wOBA against lefties. The Yankees are ranked just 16th in the league in wOBA against righties and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Yankees player or two get the day off. Meanwhile, Miguel Cabrera is sitting on 2999 hits and he was visibly upset about not winning yesterday despite going 3 for 4. I think his Tigers teammates will pick him up today, and I think the Tigers salvage this series with a home win. Clay Holmes and Aroldis Chapman should be unavailable for the Yankees as well, take the Tigers at home.

ANALYSIS: The Tigers really miss the injured Javy Baez, but I think they can at least hang within a run here against Yankees lefty Jordan Montgomery (0-0, 3.24). The Yanks won't have closer Aroldis Chapman available as he pitched the first two games of the series. It also could be the day Miguel Cabrera joins the 3,000-hit club as he's at 2,999. He is 1-for-3 career off Montgomery. It's the Detroit debut of pitcher Michael Pineda, a former Yankee. He was 9-8 with a 3.62 ERA last year with Minnesota. Tigers RL at -120.

ANALYSIS: Lost on the Red Sox runline last night, but the Blue Jays are now down three offensive regulars with George Springer out of the lineup today (Danny Jansen and Teoscar Hernandez are hurt). The Sox get back their No. 1 catcher Christian Vazquez from the COVID list. Boston starter Tanner Houck has allowed three earned or fewer in each of his 23 career outings and has 2.54 career ERA at Fenway. This is pricy at -170, but I'm not ready to commit to Boston winning outright.

ANALYSIS: Simple math at work here: Chicago is -140 to win and Cleveland is -140 at home getting +1.5, so we have to take the Guardians. The Sox probably should be favored behind Dylan Cease (although he was quite worse on the road last year) and do have Eloy Jimenez back, but Leury Garcia hitting third? No Andrew Vaughn in the lineup (or injured Yoan Moncada, AJ Pollock). Zach Plesac (1.64 ERA) is a fine pitcher for Cleveland, which is starting all its regulars.
