ANALYSIS: I am pre-emptively playing this Thursday game. The Kings play tonight in Seattle and from what I'm reading will keep some regulars in the lineup for that one but then rest guys Thursday in the second of a B2B and in the team's regular-season finale. LA has squat to play for in either it is locked into its playoff seed and the injury risk rises playing a second game in 24 hours. If I liked Seattle a bit more, I'd take the Kraken tonight as well but they just aren't good. Meanwhile, the Canucks will be playing their home finale and guys always want to win that game.

ANALYSIS: Minnesota has won six in a row and goes for a sweep of the Tigers in a Target Field matinee. Both starting pitchers, Detroit's Tarik Skubal and Minnesota's Bailey Ober, are in good form, but I'll lay the lumber with the red-hot hosts. Minnesota scored 10 runs in the first two games of this series despite getting nothing from Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa (0 for 16, six strikeouts). Buxton, however, has homered twice in just six at-bats versus Skubal. Look for Max Kepler and Minnesota to stay hot and send the Tigers to their eighth loss in 10 games.

ANALYSIS: I got burned on two plays yesterday at around this price because the Dodgers and Giants decided to go ahead and suck combined for the first time this season, but I struggle to see the Braves losing here as they will get a massive emotional boost with the earlier-than-expected return of superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. from his torn ACL rehab. He was supposed to be activated May 6 but hit well in the minors. In addition, former touted pitching prospect Kyle Wright (2-0, 1.06 ERA) appears to have finally figured things out.

ANALYSIS: Wow the Reds are favored. Cincinnati is getting Mike Moustakas back off the injured list but sitting reigning NL Rookie of the Year Jonathan India today -- he had a hit in each of the first two games of the series. I thought the Padres might rest a key regular in a getaway game but nope. I don't much trust San Diego pitcher Nick Martinez, but Cincinnati's Tyler Mahle has been even worse.

ANALYSIS: The Reds have lost 13 of 14 but are favored to avoid the sweep at the hands of visiting San Diego. I will go against the sharp money and keep fading Cincinnati (3-15). Tyler Mahle has been shaky this season with a 6.88 ERA, including a 9.75 ERA in daytime ball. Somehow he has not given up a homer after serving up 24 last season, 19 of those at home. The Reds sport the worst ERA and worst OPS in the majors. Back the Padres to improve to 11-1 in the past 12 meetings.

ANALYSIS: The Mavericks dominated Game 5 to put themselves on the brink of reaching the second round. Donovan Mitchell went down with a quadriceps injury late in that game, but he seems intent on playing in Game 6 with the Jazz’s season on the line. If he does play, he may not be completely healthy. The Mavericks have all the momentum, and with Luka Doncic healthy again, I expect them to come away with a win here.
